I am new to this group, but not new to weight loss/weightlifting. I was just talking with some old timers at my gym about this exact subject. What they all suggested was when hitting a plateau, is to switch up what you're doing. If you usually lift weights, switch to swimming or spinning or hiking or taking some exercise…

I hear ya! My cravings always come at night. And of course I don't crave celery! Oh no...it's cookies and cereal and crap! I don't have those things in my house, but it's all there at my parents when I go over to care for my dad. I eat it and then literally HATE myself. Argh!!! I really need help with the cravings.

Sadly, I can't stand spin class. It hurts my butt, female parts and knees far too much. Maybe it's the bikes my gym has?? But I've tried everything (gel seats, wearing a maxi pad, moving the seat up/down/forwards/backwards, moving the handlebars, etc, etc). Meanwhile, my hubby LOVES spin class! He hasn't lost much weight…

Yes, it's possible when taking into account your height and weight. As long as you programmed your heart rate monitor accurately with your stats, it should be fairly accurate. For comparison, I am 5'4" and weigh about 135lbs. The last zumba class I took, I burned about 425 calories in the hour long class.

Yoga is great! You should try a beginner Pilates class, too. Similar moves, but a lot of good core work.

I currently weigh 135lbs. When I do 30 mins on a Precor Elliptical Crosstrainer (moderately, not pushing *hardcore*, I can still carry on a conversation somewhat) I burn about 250 calories as per my Polar FT4 HRM. Which is a total bummer because the calories burned display on the Precor says I burned 600 calories. Ugh.…
