There is a really great new cookbook - completely free and in PDF form - called "Good and Cheap." The author, Leanne Brown, did a Kickstarter to get it going and she is distributing free printed copies to communities in needs. It is excellent. Great, wholesome recipes and she puts the cost of each meal next to the recipe.…

I appreciate you taking the time to respond but I don't think dairy and carbs are questionable foods and I don't plan on cutting them out. Doing that doesn't work for me.

You've had awesome success! Congrats on your loss.

Thank you - I am really going to focus on the protein and fats. I've been ignoring my macros. Already I've noticed that having 2 eggs this morning really helped me get through the first few hours of the day.

I've been a little lazy with grains at dinner over the past week and just measured with a cup but normally I do weigh everything. I don't think my diary is questionable by any means. When I enter half an onion it's usually because I've put a whole onion into a large main (like a stew or a saute) that will be 4 servings -…

I'm going to make it a point to go to a Body Pump class at the Y tomorrow. Do you think I should increase my calories to 1650 instead of 1550? [/quote] Yes! I would definitely bump your calories to accommodate the more intense workout you'll be doing with Body Pump. You'll be craving more food with that kind of energy…

Thank you, everyone, for your encouraging comments. I'm not anticipating my TOM - that's partly why I think this is so strange. I definitely DO need to up my water intake though. I wish it came more naturally. I do drink a lot of La Croix carbonated water but it seems to make me thirstier. Has anyone else experienced that?

This is a good point. I noticed that I haven't been having my usual savory, protein-rich breakfasts. Maybe that has contributed to me being hungrier around mid-morning and lunch.

Thanks, Amy, as always, for your support. I think you're right. I DO need to mix it up, especially where exercise is concerned. I'm going to make it a point to go to a Body Pump class at the Y tomorrow. Do you think I should increase my calories to 1650 instead of 1550?

I'm 5'1.5. I currently weigh 140 and my goal weight is 135. After that, I'll see if I want to go down to 130.

I second trying sparkling water such as La Croix or Perrier. My favourite is the La Croix lime and grapefruit. They have no sugar, no sodium, no calories, but still feel like a treat.

Completely addicted. I usually do at least 40-60 minutes a day with my dog and my favorite podcasts. Sometimes more, but it's getting too hot lately.

I like Tera's Whey bourbon vanilla protein powder. It has 20 grams of protein and is a good base. I add almond milk, half a banana, and lots of frozen berries to mine. Sometimes I make it "green" with spinach.

Miracle Whip is an abomination (ducks). I just use less mayo. Nothing beats the real thing (Hellman's/Best Foods) except of course, the real thing (homemade).

I missed all of last week because of calf/foot pain that I am getting checked out today. If I get the green light from my doctor, I plan to repeat the last day I did (W3D2). Good luck!

Make homemade thin crust pizza. Top it with veggies and cheese. I use the dough recipe from the link below. I make it in a rectangular pan and cut it into 12 pieces. The dough, plus 137 grams of part-skim shredded mozzarella and 3/4 cup tomato puree (get cans of just tomato, nothing else added) = 113 calories per slice. I…

You look amazing! Thanks for sharing and congratulations!

I really appreciate the encouragement! You guys rule.

Thanks, ladies! It feels good to get some support. I realized that using the TDEE-15% method requires me to be much more disciplined about exercise. So in light of that, I decided to change my activity level from moderate to lightly active in order to be sure that I'm not eating too much. That way if I exercise a bit more…

I don't know why the whole chart isn't showing. It goes down and up a lot after the dates shown in the image above.

I just completed W1D3. Felt glorious during that last run. I'm going to do W2D1 on Thursday and then again on Monday because I'm going out of town Thurs night-Sunday night.

Thank you so much! I do have a sedentary desk job, so I think that is accurate for me. I just did Scooby's most accurate calculator and it gives me a BMR of 1434; TDEE of 2223 and a calorie goal of 1890 (with 15% reduction and moderate exercise). I think this looks good. Thank you again!

That's awesome! Your post makes me hopeful that once I figure this out, I'll have good results too.

Amazing results! You look great.
