  • Thank goodness for this thread! Thank you, CyberTone!
  • My name is Summer and I am a Nerd. I love chatting it up about anything network infrastructure related and consistantly get joked around with for the amount of Magic The Gathering playing cards I own. No, I don't play regulation...No fun ;) I also watch a TON of Star-Trek...Yes...All of them...All the time. Feel free to…
  • I understand how convenience (or avoidance) can definitely be a struggle. I used to order out pizza because it was ready by the time I would get home from work. At my previous job (as I relocated and started a new one just three months ago), I would go out to lunch just because I wanted to avoid doing the dishes for the to…
  • How did you doctors visit go?
  • As of late, 1 Hour of Cycling is around 650-700 calories.
  • First off - He doesn't deserve you. When I started dating my boyfriend almost five years ago, I was 35-40 pounds lighter than I am today. If he told me tomorrow he has a problem with my weight, knowing that I've been motivated to eat better, hit the gym, etc, I'd tell him it was time to move into he's Mom's spare bedroom.…
  • Thanks for the friend request! The depo shots were the worst! When my endo came back, I swear it came with a vengence. I hope you find some relief with your recent surgey. Did they put you on anything right away or seeing how you do after surgey? I would "love" to meet up with some SD folks!! Maybe an awesome park…
  • Hello There, N1shra! Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but so excited you found a doctor who has taken you seriously and helped you find the best way to treat you, for you. I am on my second round of Mirena! The first couple months were rough, but I swear by it. I still have to self medicate here and there, but it is…
  • Hello lequirk! Welcome to the Group (even though I wish you weren't diagnosed!!). Everyone in the group is a blast and feel free to ask a million and one questions. When I was first diagnosed, I had nowhere to turn, but here you will have many friends who have probably covered most treatments across the board! It won't be…
  • I don't follow the Endo Diet, however, I have greatly reduces (almost eliminated) red meat and milk. I'll have both sparingly, but overall, especially when I am already hormonal, I stay away from those completely. I have noticed that if I eat Organic Beef and Raw Milk I have 'zero' problems with beed and dairy. This has…
  • I'm in :) That's about 1.5 pounds a week, which is totally doable with my current routine!! Name: Summer Starting Weight/Date: 180 - May 6, 2014 Current Weight/Date: 178 - May 6, 2014 Goal Weight/Date: 158 - September 15, 2014
  • Hi, Archu!! Thanks for sharing your story! Good luck at the gym! Don't forget to push yourself, but remember your limits as you swing back into things. I've been known to do too much core and pay for it later   I have a higher weight loss goal too, so let me know if you need extra support, advice, or just…
  • Toss a weight on a food scale. If a 2 pound weight measures 2 pounds, you're typically pretty safe.
  • In the world of food scales, "more expensive" isn't better. I bought my $10.00 food scale while a Bed Bath and Beyond. It has worked well for me over the years (it's been my lack of using it that has been the problem  ).
  • I only read some of the comments on the thread, so if I touch on things already suggested, I apologize in advance. 1.) I would recommend going to see someone that actually specialized in nutrition/weight loss. General doctors receive very little training when it comes to nutrition, so they aren't really the best source of…
  • Up until recently, I was TERRIBLE about eating breakfast! I've gotten much better at it as of late. Ideas - Bagel & Peanut Butter - I use Whole Grain Bagels with lots of Fiber. I also use peanut butter with no added sugar (Kirkland Brand) and actually plan on making my own soon, once I've gone through the Kirkland Brand.…
  • Very interesting! I've heard similar stories from other mothers with multiple children... I don't plan on getting pregnant, ever (just not my cup of tea), but if I do, I know which road I'll take just in case!! Thanks for sharing.
  • At home, we drink plain Setzer Water and add fruit. Most recently, we drink Setzer Water with Grapefruit. Gives you great taste thats fresh without all the chemicals. We get the big Setzer Waters from the grocery store and in SoCal Grapefruit are currently 2/$1.00 with each grapefruit lasting about a week and a half!
  • I just started, after being unable to last week (keep reading for why haha), Insanity full throttle this week. My recommendation is - Do some high cardio workouts the week beforehand. Last week on Tuesday, I did Insanity with my friend. I was SO sore trying to go from zero to hero that I had sore calves (as in, unable to…
  • Congrats on making the mindset to start Insanity. I am on Day 2 today after seeing my results my best friend has had. She is on week three. Last week, I conditioned to build up to Insanity, which I think was helpful. I did high cardio workouts to get my body moving last week and I think it helped a TON (as I tried to start…
  • I am doing Insanity right now (Day 2) and looking forward to completing it. I also have T25. I am unemployed at the moment, so the time length of Insanity and P90X aren't a problem....I am looking forward to T25 as morning workouts when I get back to work and running in the evenings. Thanks for your thoughts on T25, as I…
  • I would have to disagree...Our government is active enough in our personal lives already. Instead of intervening with free enterprise, how about they provide proper funding to teach child about food and health choices from an early age. Also, lets work harder on their lunches...Set the example.
  • Very soon, I will be making more than my boyfriend - He is also 10 years older than I am (and such a stud!!). He says, "I've got myself a young, sugar mama!" That being said, we've also split everything 50/50. He couldn't care less.
  • I'm not really a nibbler. 1.) I don't have kids. 2.) We don't keep many foods in the house that can be nibbled (on purpose). That being said, I do LOVE to cook. Typically, when I am making dinner, I do lots of nibbling on ingredients. When I add the recipes to MFP, if I had 1 serving - I'll typically type in 1.15 servings,…
  • I know when I used to eat at Subway that cheese was typically the difference (if you eat it).
  • If it were me, I would approach it as being more about health and play down the calorie consumption. I've got a friend who does this so well with her daughter. She teaches her about healthy carbs, appropriate types of fat and lean proteins and how they make her body work like an amazing machine. Most things, like Cinnamon…
  • There are two things that I think would be helpful: 1. If he is going to have so many restrictions, he needs to be a bigger help in coming up with meals. You aren't changing your eating because you just got bored, you are changing your eating because of your health. Remind him of this. You won't be much help with the kids…
  • Store Bought Stock - If you are going to buy store bought stock, I recommend Rachel Rays Chicken Low-Sodium Stock. It's got less than half of the amount of sodium of every single of thing on the shelve (including the health food section). If I am in a pinch and can't make homemade, I make that. Homemade - Homemade stocks…
  • You are my best friend, seriously! I also love that I can click on gluten free, vegetarian...etc etc etc. I'm not too picky of an eater, but others in my house have dietary restrictions!! Thank you!
  • I make version of this ALL the time, it is seriously one of my favorite go to breakfast recipes!! I love making more vegetarian friendly versions (with mushrooms and spinach for my boyfriend) and bacon versions and....You get the idea!! Great post!
