  • Two tips: Find what you love doing, and pay a personal trainer to at least coach you a couple times on form. Find a gym that is supportive. My gym has trainers in there all the time and they will correct form and give tips even to people who aren't their clients because its part of their overall job as gym staff.…
  • I don't lift per se, but I do KB's. Feel free to friend me if you like. My diary is "open" to friends but I don't keep it because I don't count calories or limit what foods I eat.
  • You are certainly very thin, but here is the question. Are you HEALTHY?!?!? What does your doctor say? How do you feel? Are you STRONG? Do you have a healthy mental relationship with food/exercise/your body? These are the more important questions.
  • One thing you might consider is cutting out HFCS from your diet. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is a sugar substitute/preservative used widely in the US...so much so that its in almost everything from things you might expect like sodas to things you might be amazed at such as bread! BREAD! It means checking ingredients…
  • I'm hypo and this is just my own personal experience and opinion so . . . (*note your hypo/experiences might be different but its worth discussing right?) IMO, the first key is making sure your levels are right with medication. Before I was diagnosed I was so lethargic I literally had to force myself to get out of bed at…
  • You can do it, stick with it and you won't regret it I promise. I feel like I have a whole new body now, one that I am in control of, not one that controls (limits) me!
  • Don't know if everyone gave up or moved on to other things but just thought I would do a final results picture share....Before and After of 7 weeks with Jillian, 5 days a week, 30 minutes a day....
  • Thanks. I just finished Day 2 of Ripped in 30....let me just say...remember how after Day 1 of the Shred you were sore all over and it took days to go away and then you werent sore like that the rest of the Shred....well I woke up this morning after just one day of RI30 and I was sore again lol so I know it was a good…
  • Seems like everyone has dropped off of this thread, but if anyone is still here... Finished the Shred on Friday and feel pretty good about my results, nothing amazing but some solid toning and inches lost. Started Ripped in 30 today and BOY OH BOY....my abs are on FIRE!!! But I like how she mixes it up a bit more and you…
  • Wow those are fantastic results! You can tell such a difference everywhere! Congrats!
  • Congrats, I am sure your results will be great!
  • Level 3, Day 6 completed. I am going to try and finish the full 10 days of L3, but may only get 9 done if I dont get in a workout on Saturday. Either way I will consider it complete at the end of the week and move on to Ripped in 30 come Monday. Amazed at how different my body looks compared to just 5 weeks ago when I…
  • Yup that was always my problem, the arms not the abs. I just kept taking arm breaks and trying to get in as many twists as I could. Level 3 seems a bit more balanced to me!
  • Just finished Level 3, Day 3 and I feel really proud of myself. Today I bumped myself up to 2.5 kilo (5.5 lb) weights and did about 85% of the moves with Anita. AND I finished all the way through without any breaks. I can't believe it!!!
  • Hi everyone, just some motivation....I started the Shred about 4.5 weeks ago (I take weekends off so its a 6 week program at that rate) and am on L3, D3 today....It gets better and your body definitely changes in strength, endurance and muscle tone. Stick with it and you won't regret it by the end!
  • Level 3, Day 2 done....whew....managed to do the jumping jacks with weights today....I consider that my achievement thus far this level......
  • I'm going to do Ripped in 30 because I have that DVD and then after that I was thinking 6 wk 6 pack....
  • I don't find L3 breezy by any means....just mentally it seems easier for me because the time seems to go more quickly so even though I'm dying I feel like I'm dying for a shorter amount of time LOL I also feel like my body is dying in different ways....L2 my arms and shoulders and cardio killed me....now its legs and…
  • Took the weekend off and then wasn't able to get to it yesterday either...boo... But started Level 3 today and I agree with folks that it does seem to go a lot faster than L2 and be more enjoyable. That being said, I still feel like Jillian is trying to kill me, had to take several breaks, and my heart is still pounding a…
  • Just wanted to say thanks for the kind words yesterday. It really helped me climb a little bit out of the funk - and the endorphins from working out probably helped a bit too ;) About to walk the dog then go do L2, Day 20 woohooo.....!!! Just a note for those who might need some encouragement in this area....I weighed…
  • Warning, I'm about to do a proper moan. But there are two reasons 1) to get it all out and 2) to maybe help motivate you as well.... So normally I do my Shred in the mornings but today I needed to get some serious job apps in so I figured that I would do that first. There was on particular job that I wanted to prepare for…
  • Just checking in....L2, D8 complete....almost to Level 3!!
  • What a great way to look at it! I have heard folks in the past say that Level 3 was easier for them than Level 2 though....maybe its because they had gotten through Level 2 so their body was built up better then? Who knows!
  • Awww thanks! I looked at pics I took when I started 3 weeks ago and honestly, its like I'm a different person. That's what I love about Jillian, is she honestly gets results fast and you can see a difference pretty quickly which helps to keep me motivated. Everyone said I was within all the healthy ranges for my age etc…
  • Sorry I've been MIA for several days....as some of you know I was getting weird tingling and numbness in my fingers and aching all down my arm from my shoulder on down from what I suspected was a strained or pinched nerve on Thursday. I decided to work out on Friday then take the weekend off because of it. I did L2, D5 on…
  • Was there just a few days ago....it gets better!
  • Ummm I wish I looked that good after working out....instead I look a hot mess...I won't repost but I posted profress pics a few thread pages back after working out lol...I look like a sweaty 14 year old lol
  • Haha, THANK YOU! Saying women are intimidated by the gym so use DVDs is like saying men only go to the gym to show off and try to score...... I know a lot of women who work out at the gym, and a lot of men who use DVDs at home. IMO and from what I've heard from both men and women, a lot of the contemporary DVD's are a…
  • Uggg so I think that all this arm and shoulder work has injured the ulnar nerves in my elbows (oh google how you both help and scare me) and my arms are both alternating between numb and tingly with my pinky fingers tingly and poor circulation. My right arm is achy from my shoulder on down and my pinky and index fingers are…
  • Don't be scared. It is a beast. But like Jillian says....those knots are fear leaving the body. Just 4 days into L2 and I am feeling good about it...I feel strong! (This is about the same number of days that it felt for me to feel strong from L1). Don't let Level 2 scare you....let it challenge you. Every day I get up now…
