I know how you feel. My streak was over 400 days and I was out of town and apparently the logging on the app didn't count. Back to 1 day in a row. That happened quite a while ago, but I don't even pay attention to it anymore.

Garmin is coming out with a free band that helps secure the Vivo. I use my Vivo for workouts and the online software, Garmin Connect is pretty good. GC also syncs with my Garmin Edge (bike computer) so almost all health data is in one place.

Always. I wouldn't want to hop in the car all sweaty and nasty.

gebb has the best answer. I kinda get all that, it's just determining where each zone is for me. I have a Garmin bike computer that screams (in all caps) "YOUR HEART RATE IS TOO HIGH!" at 150 bpm. I know I can change it, but to what? I go over that frequently. I get the "Holy crap, I'm going to die" feeling at about 170. I…

Another vote for the HRM. I have a stationary trainer for my bike for the winter. I have a Garmin bike computer with a heart rate monitor and cadence and speed monitors. 60 minutes of what I think is moderate to hard pedaling will be 400 to 650 calories. A ride after a day or two of rest will be much higher than after a…

Thats a great point. In summer, I usually do take a walk, (my knees thank me for this) but this week in particular, St. Louis was hit with record snow. Come to think of it, when I arrived at the beginning of the week, it warmed up to -4.

And the good news, no net weight gain!

Thanks. I didn't even want to kid myself about watching what I eat. It seems everyone is so proud of their cooking and want to give you some (a lot). The biggest problem with all that is everyone IS such a great cook. The plan is not to go too crazy keep up with some exercise and then hit the gym hard too after the…

I lost my Flex and have been going nuts! It really does help you stay motivated. I am waiting for the new model to be released and getting that as soon as I can!

Thanks and weights are starting to come into the picture. I started a TRX class and have seen some effects of that already. I will be adding lifting weights.

As Im 53 also, I can hardly think of that as old. Congratulations on your success! I have some catching up to you.

I quit several years ago for 1 reason only. Finances. I was smoking 2 to 2 1/2 packs a day. Wisconsin (and other states) realized a while ago that taxing tobacco is the easiest, most popular, PC way to raise money. It went up $.50 one year, then $1.00 after that. They have pushed smokers out into the sidewalks, alleys and…

Bad news, dude. It would probably be a good time to move on.

I prefer biking, but walking is a close second. We have a lot of trails around here that are very peaceful (when the mosquitos aren't out).

I have been wearing them for 35 years. Nothing to fog up, get dirty... Can wear cheap sunglasses or safety glasses. You can dive with a regular mask. Bad, you have to clean them once in a while.

I love my Fitbit. It motivates me like nothing Iv'e tried before. I have it linked to MFP and Walgreens to earn reward points. Feel free to add me if you'd like https://www.fitbit.com/user/26PH5F

FR sent.. As I said in the FR, "I log daily. In fact, I am coming up on 150!. It does let me see that a little of this and that add up quickly. Good luck to you!"

As of today, I am at 92.67 miles. I was without a bike for 2 weeks, so I will have more next month.

I agree. I use it to track my sleep and it has shown me that I wasn't getting nearly all the sleep I thought I was getting. That alone has made me feel better.

That looks like... interesting to say the least.

Wide open for all to see. It keeps me honest

Had a small tenderloin for lunch with the hopes that that was going to last the day. I was thinking it might not and now reading all these posts, it probably won't. Thanks for some ideas though.

I struggle with that too. I work a somewhat long day about 45 minutes away. By the time I get home I have just enough time for a quick workout before bed. 3AM comes around really early. Sometimes its just a walk with a little running at night. Other nights its at the gym. I try to get some workout in.

I'd rather have a soda in my bag, than a pop in my sack.

Only if I'm hungry, wide awake, and have some calories left. If I'm not hungry, I will try not to eat. BTW, overcoming that is probably the hardest thing for me.

How accurate is that? Not being critical here. We have one, just wondering, because I never thought of using that like that.
