I am watching The Biggest Loser and they just came out with a wristband similar to the Fitbit has anybody tried it yet? What are your thoughts on these 2?

Hi Sandra I bought a Fitbit in Feb of this year and after a couple of months use it would not charge. They sent me a replacement and I have had exactly the same problem and cannot use it. There is obviously a design fault with them that they need to sort out. They are not cheap so I would recommend that you do not waste your money, I was lucky enough to get a refund for mine. Don´t know about Vivo so I can´t comment. I love the Biggest Loser :)

I have a Vivo and so far so good. I like that you can use it with a heart rate monitor, and it also acts as a watch (which for my job is important). Now, I've only had it for a full day (lol), but it does serve my main purpose, which is a activity tracker that doubles as a HRM.

Vivofit also has a 1 year battery life. So no charging every few days, which for me is a great feature. My sister has the Fitbit, and she loves it.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either device. Both are in every Top 10 Activity Tracker list that I have seen.

Garmin kit is very good in general. The only criticism I've seen of the Vivofit is that the clasp can release and there are a number of aftermarket options to resolve that.

The biggest benefit is that it ties into the Connect platform, so the data is complementary to any other devices you use; GPS, bike computer etc.

Usual caveats apply, all of these things are overgrown pedometers, so the information is of limited value if your training or circumstances don't suit that; cyclists or those who drive a lot.

Garmin is coming out with a free band that helps secure the Vivo.

I use my Vivo for workouts and the online software, Garmin Connect is pretty good. GC also syncs with my Garmin Edge (bike computer) so almost all health data is in one place.

I purchased a band (from Amazon) that will secure the vivofit. It was a pack of about 10 for 6 or 7 dollars because I had heard about the clasp issue. And like another poster said, Garmin will send you a free band to secure it. It takes about 4-6 weeks, so although I ordered one, I didn't want to wait for it.
