Protein! Especially cause you're lifting. Don't be afraid to eat, just eat a lot of good stuff all day long. We are very similar, I had a similar weight loss, then didn't lose (or gain) for about 3 weeks, now I'm losing again. I feel like weight loss comes in spurts. Keep up the lifting, isn't it awesome??

You make good points. This week I've worked out hard 3 days in a row. Tomorrow is my rest day, and I'm definitely feeling like chilling on the couch and letting my body relax. My muscles are sore, and my knees hurt, but I think that is the whole point of a rest day, is to rest (duh) and work your *kitten* off on your…

THANK YOU! This is how I feel exactly. I don't think they are trying to be nasty about it, but I'm kinda sick of hearing about how I'm 'obsessed' or 'doing way to much' I don't think 2 hours a day 4-5 times a week is too much. Geez. I'm making progress and feeling great. I love the way my body is changing, and its because…

Yes, Cardio jam is and hour long Cardio class. It's awesome. The extra run was because I had 15minutes left of daycare, so I used it up to run with a friend. Thanks for the reply :)

Inspiring! The goal of 85 pounds must have been overwhelming at first, but is such a great accomplishment - one of the best in your life, assumably. I have lost 10, and have 20 to go, and even that feels like a lot. But like you said, its all about attitude and I've become the biggest gym rat that I've never wanted to be,…

I don't think I have stopped being sore for about 2 months now!! I don't like taking a day off, and really only do if my schedule gets in the way (kids!!). If just my muscles are sore, I will def. still work out. My knees get pretty sore sometimes, and that's what might get me to take a day off - at least from lower body…

I told you before, but I'll say it again - you're awesome. I am doing my first 5k on the 20th, and a couple more this spring/summer. Next year I am thinking about training for a half marathon. It is inspiring that you have come so far and continue to challenge yourself. Please post your results, pictures, etc. after your…

Two runs in 2 days.... I'm not fooling around :)

Good advice. I weigh myself pretty much every time I walk into the bathroom. Unfortunatly, it has the power to change my mood too :(

I haven't taken my measurements, I don't feel I'd be very accurate. YOu're right too, its almost a pound a week which isn't bad. I just feel that I'm putting in soooo much effort, and not getting the results I want soooo bad. I'm discouraged... but I do like gaining muscle, so I think I'll focus on weight training for a…

Sexy, lean, toned muscles are beautiful. That is what I'm trying to achieve right now. I think women are more attractive when they have muscle instead of just being skinny. You should post some pics!! Good luck!

I love reading this. I just signed up for my first 5K in April and I can't wait. I also started running in January and I love it. That is a pretty fast time, but I wouldn't say you set the bar too high unless that is the time you want to beat each time. Maybe that's the time to aim for each time instead. Even with 2 walk…

Turbo Jam will be a better workout than Zumba. Zumba is a lot of fun though!

such a great resource. Thanks for posting that.

Great story! Week 5 is tough. That is where I stopped. I've been going to the gym a lot and decided to just run on my own, but doing it that way its so easy to not challenge yourself because you don't have a timer to live up to. I should start again. In the beginning, didn't 90 seconds seem overwhelming? It did to me. I…

Thank you for posting those pics, they are very inspiring.

I'm a new runner too. I started running by using a C25K (Couch to 5K) app on my phone. This will let you start slow, and work your way up to running 3 miles. It helps to build your endurance by slowly increasing the amount of time you run for, starting off with 90 seconds, and going up to running for a full half hour. Its…

This was a very encouraging response. Thank you! I can't imagine even running 3.1 miles straight, let alone 10! Was a half marathon your goal, or maybe it was just to get in shape?

I think I am eating properly, but I am honestly having a hard time eating so many calories. I'm trying to eat a lot of protein, among other things, and foods with a lot of protein tend to not have a ton of calories. I can't figure out how to eat healthy foods and still get all the calories I need without eating all day…
