  • I hate every time they do a news story and I have to explain it to my DH again. It's not the artificial sweetener that's the problem, it's the "I was good saving all those calories by getting a diet soda, so it's okay if I get the super mega sized meal with a double dip sundae!" that's the problem. I switched DH's regular…
  • Um yep, the Wiggles Workout is a real thing that mom's have been doing for a long time. Fruit salad, yummy, yummy... :blushing: The Wiggles even have a set of exercises called the Wiggly Workout. http://www.wiggletime.com/public/medibank.aspx?ReturnTo=http://www.wiggletime.com/parent/medibank.aspx There's a book too, but…
  • YW. :) Something else that occurred to me...I don't know when or how it happened exactly, but I've basically switched to having my coffee black. I know I switched to stevia and skim milk at some point and then to unsweetened vanilla almond milk. When I started watching my protein intake more, I started making flavored…
  • Nothing wrong with fat at all. We were discussing ways to pack in more food with less calories though. I often buy a better quality of ground beef and sometimes use poultry products like turkey bacon or turkey sausage when I want more calories to splurge on other things later. No different than adding in some egg whites vs…
  • I'll be 38 next month. I started last year at 260lbs. I have MFP set without exercise, but I recalculate my TDEE about every 10lbs lost or so for both lightly and moderately active. I always get my lifting in. It's only 25 minutes 3x a week, so no really good excuses to get out of it. I enjoy it anyways. I've had busier…
  • So the little girl that died of water intoxication last month after being forced to drink 2.5 liters of soda actually died from.....?????
  • I have my goals set to only 1lb/wk and I lift heavy 3 times a week. I also go for a walk or do a little aerobic activity, something pretty well every day even if just for 15 or 20 minutes. Tons of free vids to do on Youtube. It's pretty easy to get another hundred here or there in a day. With my current activity level, I…
  • I'm not sure what your budget is like, but you can save quite a few calories by replacing all or a portion of your ground beef with lower fat beef or ground turkey. Think 93/7 or even 85/15. I often pay the same as cheaper beef as I will grab marked down packs a day or two before the sell by date and freeze them. You could…
  • Don't let the kids see you making them or they might not eat them, but my kids love what we call Turkey Eggs. I line 12 muffin tins with strips of turkey bacon. I grate up a yellow squash (approx 140g), mix with 3 eggs (approx 150g) and 4 servings of egg whites. You could just use whole eggs for all, but since I eat them…
  • ^^This^^ I use the recipe builder. I weigh each ingredient separately and enter. When its done I weigh the entire batch and divide the grams into 6/8/12/20 whatever amount of servings and enter however many servings I have into my diary. You can weigh some of your bowls and pots empty to remove from your total or zero out…
  • I've frequently brought things or have had things (individual meals or specific drinks) brought for me. If its the norm and I want to make a change or someone else wants to make a change all that's needed is to let people know. I can't tell from your post, but is this a common thing? You say it happens all the time. Like…
  • Congrats! You're doing fantastic. I had one of his "Sweatin" tapes I used for years. I bought a lot of other exercise videos through the years, but none got as much use as that tape. I tried Zumba thinking I would love it and while it was fun, I ended up hurt in short order. I picked up an anniversary "Sweatin' to the…
  • Mmmm...biscotti. Thanks for the reminder. I need to get another box next time I'm at the store. I budgeted one or two a day last week. The dark chocolate dipped kind. Had to settle for chocolate almond cookies tonight.
  • Steak or breakfast chops.
  • Definitely love protein pancakes. I add Greek yogurt or cottage cheese to the batter along with protein powder, wheat flour and whole oats to bump it to 27g per serving. With a side of turkey or vegetable sausage or turkey bacon wrapped eggs....I often get 40+ at breakfast. Try stuffing a chicken breast with spinach and…
  • I weigh multiple times a day. Mornings, after a potty break, before my shower.... I see up to 10lb differences regularly and have found first thing after going in the am is not the lowest average for my weight in a day. I know a lot of people can't even handle once a day on the scale, but weighing multiple times a day has…
  • This week's fav is banana protein pancakes topped with strawberries and whipped cream, turkey bacon wrapped egg and spinach muffins and coffee.
  • Zucchini, salsa, spinach, the yolk....
  • Congrats! My NSV this week was having to move the car seat forward to reach the pedals since I've lost so much behind I'm sitting farther back in the seat. :D

  • Lately, strawberry cheesecake Greek yogurt with graham cracker Goldfish, sugar snap peas with dill yogurt dressing and mock soft serve ice cream with almond milk and protein powder.
  • I was told to give it 2 years. That wherever it is in 2 years is as good as it will get. I see/feel improvement at a slow though steady rate. Strength training, stretching, modified yoga and walking are serving me well.
  • I broke my ankle and shattered some of my leg. I started squats with body weight only and did them in a door frame. It gave me something to keep me from falling over and assisted me with getting back up if necessary while I worked on form and depth. My leg isn't at 100% and likely never will be, but I think I've surpassed…
  • When I was starting, I struggled with even the empty bar on certain lifts. It's taken me 6 months, but I finally cracked 80lbs on my bench press. Start wherever you need to and progress up as you can.
  • Thank you! Thank you! I've been trying to choke down plain fat free Greek yogurt to replace my regular yogurt because of the high sugar content for a couple weeks now. I now have a freezer full of experimental mix-ins. They're all positively horrid. The drink mix finally did the trick. I'll look for 2% or full fat next…
  • I like it. I zero it out each morning. Check email, log on MFP, check news/weather, research & type notes, pay bills, etc. anything I would have sat to do before now gets done while walking. The miles can really add up by the end of the day.
  • I log 4-10 miles everyday at a treadmill desk except when I have a day off. It's done in multiple stages through out the day. Adds up pretty quick, especially on cool days.
  • Ditto!
  • I use mine for HIIT after my lifting sessions. I've also outfitted mine as a desk. Walking and typing and browsing right now. I'd be doing it anyways, might as well log a few miles on my feet instead of my rear. I love my treadmill.
  • If it's on Youtube, I will Plex It! and then use the app to put it on the big screen via a Roku or if I'm going to do it in the family room, we have an HTPC I would run it on.
