  • It's not just about the step count, although that's a great place to start. Since owning a Flex my main goal is calorie in verses calorie out so it's all about activity for me. My current average step count is just over 14,000 but I don't have the time to walk my secret is dancing! I put my headphone on and boogie my butt…
  • I'm counting today as Day 1 (although like so many I'm not new to MFP - I'm a re-starter) I Looked back at the reports on here today, my current weight gain started from 26th October, 3900g (9lbs) in almost 10 weeks. :-( not as bad as it could have been but I'm still kicking myself. My goal is to get rid of it quicker than…
  • I'm counting today as Day 1 (although like so many I'm not new to MFP) Looking back at the reports on here, my weight gain started from 26th October, that's 3900g (9lbs) in almost 10 weeks. My goal is to get rid of it quicker than it went on!! I had managed to just weigh 7lbs more than my goal weight before I went on…
  • Hi, I'm 41, I have 2 daughter (I don't run) but feel free to add me :) x
  • Hi, For me MFP is a way to keep focused. I've lost focus at the moment - came back from a week's holiday with my family, haven't logged on her or tracked my food and guess what, yep I gained weight :( cross with myself *grrr* I'm not even at my goal weight yet, but I suspect that I'll be a life long member here.... x
  • I'm 13lbs lighter than I was 10 weeks ago and my Bust, Waist, Hips measurements are smaller too but it's not just about weight, it's about how you feel... It's been said already but setting yourself dramatic targets can only lead to self loathing & if you're anything like me, emotional eating (and/or drinking) Remember…
  • Hello Everyone, I'm a Wiltshire lass ... Salisbury to be exact  x
  • I've been on the receiving end my best friend lost loads of weight on "Lighter Life" and asked me if I wanted any of her clothes? I said yes and she came over with 3 bin bags full & I had so much fun going through them.... I've also passed on clothes that had been bought for me but weren't my style....
  • Request Sent
  • Wow! Wasn't it brilliant all the way through!!! Will definitely put it on planner when the next series starts
  • Good luck to everyone who has decided to run. I think you're all bloody brilliant! I'll be watching on the telly. X x X x
  • Wow! Sounds pretty similar to my idea about "Clean Eating", the only thing that I'd like to add is food miles & ethical farming. I try to eat local produce (I use my local farm shop every week) and with the ever improving labelling here in the UK you can know where most of your food comes from.
  • Hi, I live in the south of England and I always buy organic & free range where possible. I love local produce too to try to keep those food miles down. I do enjoy cooking, when my 2 girls were small I made everything from scratch (Annabel Karmel was my saviour & I still use her recipes) but annoyingly after a good start…
  • I'm trying to be more conscious about how I eat, what I mean is, not shovelling in food quickly & mindlessly to get the high sugar rush. I close my eyes and savour the food in my mouth keeping it in there for 30 chews but what I'm finding is the "low cal", "no sugar" or "healthy" branded bars & snacks actually taste rather…
  • Hi, I've just read all of your responses .... very interesting. MFP already works out how many calories you should be eating to maintain a healthy diet and lose weight, so... I like the idea of listening to your stomach, if after exercise you feel hungry have something to eat, i.e. eat your "exercise calories" but make…
  • I'm British too! I've just found the Team UK Group in the "Community" section - 4174 members at the last count ;)

  • I love you all  I do have the same problem, age and having kids all take their toll. I have to agree with the comments so far, keep exercising the pelvic floor and wear pads... My other problem is the size of my boobs... I can't jump without support (both panty & bra :blushing: ) but the sport's bras I've had to buy…
  • Hi {Waves} It's good to know there are other newbies on this site too  I'm finding these forums and the blogs are a great source of information & inspiration.... x
  • I hadn't heard of it but the pic & results posted in the Success forum are amazing!!! I'll check out YouTube and see if I'm brave enough to give it a go .... (I'm a wimp when it come to intense high impact workouts, I prefer yoga & pilates)
  • Wow, what a great post. I've read through everyone's replies so far and I thought I'd add mine too.... At the moment I'm only 2 weeks into the NHS Choices 12 week plan to lose weight , develop healthier eating habits and be more active so I am counting everything and weighing everything. I've been on diets before…
  • Hi, I seem to eat for every reason other than that I'm hungry ... and I've come to realise in the last couple of weeks that I eat without concentrating on what I'm doing. I can go through a packet of biscuits, crisps or even my dinner look down and suddenly it's all gone! Looks like we're not alone. A friend of mine bought…
  • Wow! There are a lot of us... Hello Everyone, I am 41 I have about 28lbs to get back to what I was 10 years ago but looking at all the chart about height v weight and BMI charts 28lbs is only half way!! My Mum told me 10years ago "be careful Darling, any weight you gain will be harder to lose once you reach 40" Damn she…
