  • i had to start seeing a psychologist in order to stop... it involved lots of counseling, and then the first stop to "not counting" was keeping a food diary that didn't include any numbers... so i'd just write down what i ate that day (ex. breakfast- yogurt with peanut butter. lunch- soup and an apple, etc) and i did that…
  • peanut butter in some yogurt is my go-to lowish calorie snack that is super filling... i have it for breakfast and don't get hungry for hours!
  • +1!! and she and i are both females! our bodies need fuel. i also lost weight eating very little, and it's been hard learning that it's OKAY to eat more... i went through a couple weeks of bloating, and now it's pretty much leveled out. i stopped counting calories a few weeks ago (still do a rough estimate tho) and i…
  • soo inspiring!! great job, you look amazing! :) congratulations!!
  • good for you! i'm really hoping to get to that point myself. i've also had disordered eating in the past and MFP has triggered that for me recently. :/ hoping to get off of it soon. your post is really inspiring! :)
  • i'm getting married June 14th!! i joined MFP a while ago (right after buying my dress of course) and lost almost 20lbs. i'm just a few pounds away from my goal weight, but i'm in maintenance mode until a few months before the wedding because i don't want to get burnt out. i love having active friends, so feel free to add…
  • i work out just as much as when i was losing, because i'd rather add calories to eat and continue with the same workout schedule then cut out exercise and eat the same amount to maintain. i've really enjoyed the added energy for my workouts! i do find myself "just doing yoga" one day a week rather than trying to fit in…
  • I hope you get some answers soon TJ! I've been avoiding running due to serious hip pain during and after runs, so I know how much it sucks. :/ especially since I also just started to experience the "love" portion of a previously "hate" only relationship with running lol.
  • yep, your body has learned to silence hunger pains, as it is in starvation mode. you absolutely need to eat more, but you should try to add calories gradually (i'd say around 200 per week) until you at least are eating your BMR every day. since you don't feel hungry, you should make a rigid eating schedule and stick to it,…
  • yep, it's become the same way for me... i used to just have one cheat meal, which was so much better! it didn't feel like a total loss of control day where i had to eat everything i'd been wanting for week. this weekend, i at least kept my cheat day to around 2400 cals, whereas the previous week was over 4000. :/ hoping…
  • i tried sooo hard to get a few pounds below my goal weight of 130, since i know i'll gain a few back from water weight/glycogen rebound.... but my body just wouldn't lose any more. :( i think my body's happy weight is 135 (i'm 5'7"), so i'm finally accepting that i just might not be able to maintain 130 without really…
  • yesss.... this.... i have personal experience with not eating back exercise calories and doing damage to my metabolism/stalling all progress. :X eat back exercise calories!
  • i saw zero change on the scale for the first month, despite working out daily and eating 1200cals/day like MFP told me to. then i bumped up my calories to 1400 and the weight literally fell off. make sure you're eating enough, and just give it more time!
  • i easily maintain at 2,000/day with pretty much no exercise (just walking to work, being somewhat active throughout the day, etc). of course, when i decided to lose weight (that i gained over the course of 6 months or so eating really really really badly, easily over 3000 cals/day and working from home) i went at it pretty…
  • Yep, this. since i have lost the weight (only around 20lbs), i have seen such a huge difference with running. i used to never really get at a point where i could just run without thinking about it... now i can go much farther than i ever thought possible (regularly run 10k when i thought i couldn't go more than 3 miles!)…
  • I think I need to try this... I switched to a new birth control 2 months ago and saw a 1lb loss right away, then a 3lb gain that just will not go away even though I've been doing everything that was working previously! The BCP I'm on is supposed to make it so you have a period every 3 months if that, so I wonder if I'm…
  • i've been increasing my calories by 100 each week. haven't gained, haven't lost either even though MFP thinks i should be losing still. i think my body is just adjusting, though. you'll find the amount that is right for you. i thought that 1900cals/day sounded like so much, but once my metabolism rebounded i could easily…
  • So true. He's such a great character. I just can't even believe how crazy this episode was... So well written. I wish I could form more articulate thoughts right now, but I just feel so much anxiety. :/
  • the first zumba class i went to, i left feeling so sad LOL. i couldn't do any of the moves right (even though i used to dance!), and just felt like a fish out of water. then, i started going to different classes with different instructors and found a couple that i really really love. challenging classes, but not all about…
  • i seriously LOVE all of my workouts... so i've just been eating more to find the amount where i don't lose anymore.
  • oh wow, i definitely think that you have trained your body to survive on a very very low number, so now eating slightly more (still way too low though) has resulted in a gain. :( i experienced this previously when i had an eating disorder. i worked very hard to reset my metabolism, ate normally for a few years, overate for…
  • this will be my first christmas logging too! i know i always gain at least 5-10lbs at christmas time (and i too view christmas as a wonderful few weeks to eat, enjoy family, and just be happy) so i'm hoping that continuing to log with help eliminate that from happening! i usually stop exercising in the winter (was…
  • I've been logging since marchish? I am a very regular logger and like having lots of friends. I am transitioning to maintenance, but still log all foods and exercise and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Feel free to add me!
  • yep, this is what i'm currently going through! eating more to increase my metabolism again, and i've already found i'm so much hungrier all the time (which is kind of annoying, but also really nice as my metabolism had slowed so much that i very very rarely felt hungry on 1300 cals/day). working my way up to 2000. :)
  • i tried and tried to spot reduce my inner thigh fat (it was bothering me when i was running), but in the end just losing the last 10 lbs did it without trying to target it. that being said, i do one exercise that does really leave my inner thighs sore which is to lie on my back on a mat or whatever and hold a stability…
  • Commenting to remember this thread... I am trying my first recipe tonight and (if I like it) will need some other ideas! Thanks!
  • i always always always eat a lot at night. doesn't matter if i had a big breakfast, protein rich dinner, whatever. i will always snack all throughout the night. so now i just plan for that... i eat a very small breakfast, pretty small lunch, a few afternoon snack, bigger dinner, and then i usually have at least 400…
  • for me, it really depends on what pill i'm on. some pills have given me terrible cravings and bloating (but the bloating was usually only for a week or so), and others have actually decreased my appetite. the one i'm on now, Lo LoEstrin Fe has made my appetite almost nonexistent (which sucks because now i'm just trying to…
  • I'm at my goal weight and am slowly increasing my cals to get up to maintenance... Anyone can feel free to add me as I'd also like friends who are maintaining!
  • i'm in grad school, and have found that making a big meatloaf on sunday gives me plenty of food for lunches/dinners during the week. also sloppy joes! made with lean meats these aren't really that unhealthy.
