  • to watch--David all the way--especially jumping. Sari looks like how I'd probably look if I had a flat stomach...(how I'd love to look) I really don't like Lana's shape-not sure why she bugs me so much, but I feel like she is always doing an easier version so maybe that is part of it. Mimi cracks me up.
  • I like when she says something like "Don't make me come thru your TV and...kick your butt !" also I think it is DVD 4 where she says It is just 30 minutes, No one has an hour to work out....
  • worked out even when I didn't feel like it and took the dog on longer walks. Now to tackle the food...too many parties.
  • put on my tight jeans that I wear around the house to remind myself not to eat--and they were too loose and baggy--hubby said they looked all saggy. put on capris that were SOOOO tight last year that I couldn't ride a mechanical bull in them--again--loose and saggy. FINALLY am in the NORMAL BMI category--by the skin of my…
  • going to an 80's party soon--am inspired now
  • that is the best--thanks for sharing!
  • What she said. I certainly don't go to fast food all the time--in fact almost never. But if I want potato chips, or ice cream, wine, gin, beer or pizza I eat/drink it. I just factor it into my cals and exercise and move on. I try to eat healthy as a general principle--but I don't get hung up on it. The biggest thing I've…
  • LOVE the caprese salad--thanks for the reminder
  • I make 2 super easy things: 1. Cheaters gazpacho. Blend 1-2 cucumbers with a jar of salsa. Eat cold. 2. Cottage Cheese, Marinara sauce, fresh basil chopped, garlic and salt to taste. I call it diet Lasagne. Eat cold.
  • It has always driven me crazy that people comment or compliment on physical appearance. While I am sure they intend to be complimentary (or helpful if they are pointing out you are fat --as if we don't know that ourselves...) it is one of the more difficult interactions for me as well. I pretty much have a stock line I use…
  • generally Friday ams after my workout and pee but before coffee.I measure every 2 weeks--but not always on the same day.
  • Allowing your mind to be tougher than your body will carry you to success--thanks for this real life story...I got a kick out of it and am cheering you on.
  • Starting Week 2, round 2 today. Did ok over the weekend--had baseball tournaments Sat. and Sun for eldest child--and was organized and packed food for lunches and snacks so ate reasonably well. It is the pizza for dinner that is hard for me. Did some extra yard work and painting my bedroom in the afternoon/evenings so am…
  • I am on round 2 of JMBR--week 1 again. After having done all 12 weeks pretty much liked phase 2 the best--loved the cardio and thought the lifting days were fun. There were aspects of phase 3 I liked--but hated the cardio. So far re-visiting phase 1 I find the cardio super boring but increased my weights so the lifting…
  • FWIW I've dropped a lb a week doing 30 min a day of Jillian Michael's Body Revolution, a 2 mile dog walk (med pace and one hill) 6 days a week and eating about 1550 cals. I am almost 45 yrs old and 5'5" and have 2 kids--although older than yours now (10 & 13) BUT--I remember those sleepless days as my now 13 year old had…
  • Echoing pretty much every one here--40 is what you make of it--I am loving it. Had an awesome party for my 40th and felt so loved and appreciated. Got my black belt at 41--major athletic goal checked off my bucket list Had kids somewhat later in life so not kid free yet...but loving the age they are at (and yes, I have 1…
  • Lived in Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell and now Maltby. Worked in Seattle, Bellevue, and now Kirkland. Moved away for 9 months to AZ--too frickin' hot in the summer. Glad to be back to the green.
  • On round 2 of JMBR (week 1, day 2 in the bag) and eating around 1550 cals. I need to get 7-10 more lbs off (and then maybe 5 more--we'll see). Will friend request. I log on every day.
  • CaloriesBurned app has most Jillian workouts defined--enter your weight and time and click calculate.
  • checking in from Snohomish...loving this baseball weather--finally!

  • This is why I hate the printed in labels (as opposed to the little silky fabric size/washing labels) I have clothes that fit that range from size 8 to 14. For the most part I used to just cut the tags out. Lately jeans and tops have printed in labels right on the fabric--drives me to drink. LOL
  • beautiful sunshine in Seattle area too--finally feels like summer. Started JMBR over again today--upped the weights a bit so Day 1 wasn't quite as easy as I had hoped. I gained 1 lb back during the last 3 weeks of being inconsistent with food and exercise--so really want to make these next 12 weeks count and get those last…
  • 30 min Jillian 6 days a week (30 day shred or Body Revolution) 30-60 min dog walks 7 days a week...sometimes 2 a days on weekends and if he is rowdy gardening-housework and trying to get off my butt at work and just walk around
  • Weeks where I actually stick to 1500 a day (net 1200) I lose 1 lb a week.
  • Having lived in hot places (Spain and AZ) and cold places with no AC that get hot once or twice a year (Seattle) I sleep with ice packs on those nights--cools you down long enough to fall asleep. Or--mist your sheet with water and pull it over your body and point a fan at your body. Good luck.

  • I limped to the finish of week 12 and am taking a "rest" week by doing 30 Day Shred before I start again next Monday. Overall I did 10 weeks very well and missed only 2 workouts. I really struggled with weeks 11 and 12. Mentally and physically worn out. I am hoping to do better on the 2nd pass thru the 12 weeks. I did lose…
  • I do b, c and D...life is too short to skip all the parties--but everything in moderation. Plus if I workout first and extra then I feel like the damage won't be quite as bad as it could be...even if it doesn't end up being an on-plan day.
  • I realized that I had been gaining 1 lb a year for 20 years (and I didn't start out tiny) and the Dr. and I agreed that while I wasn't in the danger zone yet--by age 65 (20 more years) I would be in big trouble if I didn't fix it now. Plus, I religiously deleted all photos of me as I hated how I looked Plus, all my clothes…
  • Age 44, 5'5.5" goal weight 145 for now--but think I'd really like to be 138-140. In college I was 133 but was swimming/lifting weights 3-5 hours a day. I was 140 before getting pregnant 14 years ago. And currently I am at 152 and size 10/12. I really want to know what brand of clothes those of you who are in 4/5 or 5/6s…
