I progressed from a single, struggling set of 12 reps at 160 lbs on the leg press, to 2 full sets, only struggling on the last 3 reps, this week. Newbie gains, I'll take 'em.

Here! I did my first Sprint in 2013, in terrible shape, and it honestly wasn't a positive experience, but it was all of my own making. My dad wants to do a Sprint with me next year, so we're training through the next year to actually be prepared and in decent shape. I'm excited and dreading it all at once :)

No matter how wrong his words keep coming out, THIS right here is pure gold. He sounds like a great guy, and obviously is trying to build you up and strengthen your self-confidence. I like your guy :) My husband supports me and teases me and I think waffles a bit on whether he's happy for me or not, since The Girls are…

Without more details of how much/what you're trying to carry, here's a couple items I found on Amazon that seem like they would work. I personally use an oversized rectangular lunch bag that can carry a hefty amount of food and a big ice pack. http://www.amazon.com/Durable-Deluxe-Insulated-Cooler-Available/dp/B0023TOLT2/…

I know this is possible, but throwing my personal experience in the ring, that hasn't happened for me and I'm going on 14 years with this bloody allergy. I had testing done at 19, then again around 28 or so, and was told I was no longer allergic to cherries (hooray! One out of a list of 10-15 foods!), so that was exciting.…

I'm in a similar situation, and frankly it's incredibly frustrating. But, what I've started doing is allowing around a third of my calories and macros to be left for the dinner/end of day, so I can overestimate what that intake is, and hit reasonably close to my goals. The rest of my meals I prepare the day beforehand, or…

At the grocery on my way to work, I very seriously stood in front of the selection of delicious ciders and wondered if anyone in the office would be able to tell if I partook prior to clocking in. Spoiler: I didn't, and they probably would. I'm a bloody lightweight now.

A little catch up - the beginning of the month I ran/biked every day until the 4th, the 5th was a rest day, and the 6th was Warrior Dash. So...yesterday was ALSO a rest day that included a badass 3 hour nap. Tonight I'm back at it with my dad, and hoping to start SL, but I'm going to play it by ear. I'm still hurting from…

super new! *waves* My goals have to be few and simple, or I burn myself out. So: 1) Begin SL 3x/week on Sept 8 (race this weekend, so waiting till that's over before starting a new program) 2) Try harder to hit my macros 3) STOP FIDDLING WITH MY MACRO REQUIREMENTS (in caps to yell at myself, I know better.)

A combination of fats and proteins usually will last the longest for satiation, so a serving of nuts, cottage cheese (if you have a fridge or way to keep things cool), hard boiled eggs, etc are usually my personal go-tos. Otherwise I end up with junk food as well.

Man, I love these threads so much!!! You guys are AWESOME!! To those who say "This isn't much to you guys but..." I have to tell you that you're wrong. Every single victory is huge, and every single victory matters to those of us that haunt the NSV threads. You are a rockstar and kicking butt, keeping motivation lit within…

I'm from Oregon! Though, I rarely have time to get together with anyone, so I can't speak to that. But I'd love to have another PNW friend on here :)

That is seriously badass, and I personally consider that very crafty. Or perhaps skilled is a better word. I don't have the skills for that, and I admire people who build thier own cosplay weapons like this, it's just amazing!

^^^ This right here is why lying about food allergies makes me angry. For those of us with actual food allergies, we are dismissed, "tested' by friends who think we're just being stubborn about a stupid food, or restaurants aren't as careful as they would otherwise be. Food allergies can kill, for some (myself included)…

I was JUST wondering if fish would work in a slow cooker! So, this sort of sounds like it ends up as a soup almost? Because of the juices from the veggies, is my thought. Looking at it again, not so much. Maybe closer to a stir fry as far as dish texture?

You got 10 out of 16 right! You know so much about Doctor Who, like K-9. I kicked myself for a few, but several were hard for me. I'm now re-watching the "new" series with my kiddo (I am OVER THE MOON about that!) so the older episodes were actually a bit easier for me because they're fresh. My friends think I have a…

Just chiming in here to say that I sit on a fitness/yoga ball for a chair, and sitting on it in a skirt is no different. Full skirts, short skirts, long skirts, tight skirts, dresses, even throwing a blanket on my lap when the AC is blasting all work with the ball. You're more stable than you might think, and even in heels…
