  • On April 22, I replied that I was 218. Yesterday and this morning, I weighted 215.4. The hardest part is dealing my own demons...... I hit a "I'm worthless, so it doesn't matter" funk for several days that I hope I'm coming out of. I stay b'c if I leave, I know there is no hope of me continuing even if I'm not…
  • I sure do! lol!
  • I walked twice today: 65 minutes and 3.3 miles the first time, then 33 minutes with my husband for 1.85 miles.
  • Walked 1 hour 38 minutes, 5.1 miles.
  • Although I did some vigorous house cleaning yesterday and logged the calories burned, I don't feel like I "exercised" either. I'll do an hour walk today.
  • I think they're fads when all that's sensibly needed is a healthy diet, appropriate water intake, & exercise. Water increase flushes excess salts and other stuff from the body which may also mimic weight loss. calories in = calories out to maintain weight Calories in < calories out to lose weight :)

  • I planned to walk but will have to log 1:20 hours of vigorous house cleaning as my exercise.
  • -- 1 1/2 hours at a slow pace at a festival today, to make up for yesterday -- 66 minutes, 3.5 miles, walking at a brisk pace with hubby tonight.
  • Where are you? We lived just east of Rochester (Macedon/Walworth area) for 4 yrs & I went to nursing school in Canandaigua. Salt water runs through my veins, but I do really miss the Finger Lakes.
  • Yes, rest more and get quality well-fitting shoes or you'll end up with black toenail/runner's toe on top of everything else!
  • 2 hours of walking here! my tracker couldn't pick up enough signal b'c of storms in the area, but I guess it was 6 1/2 7 miles. Hurts so gooooood.
  • 120 minutes of walking, 6 1/2 - 7 miles, 672 calories! I skipped yesterday, so although it's not ideal, I doubled up to make up for it. I am not being very productive/active in another group, so I do want to make this group a commitment and goal!
  • My goal was to walk our 3 mi park trail and I did. 65 minutes of almost brisk walking. Wanted to walk faster but my left foot/heel is killing me (plantar fasciitis)!
  • I did 65 minutes of walking and still have to brush the pool.... would have loved to walk faster, but BOOOOOY a case of plantar fasciitis is kicking my butt! It's so aggravating when something throws you a curve ball! Stats first thing in the morning since it's already 3:20pm
  • This came from my local newspaper which regularly runs an exercise and recipe together under the headline, "Hot n Healthy". Below is a link to this recipe and an exercise of hip raise with chest press on BOSU ball. Fresh Baby Spinach and Feta Quesadilla Servings: 6, 2 wedges 1/2 cup packed fresh basil leaves 1 1/2 Tb lemon…
  • Yes, the weight gain can be significant and then moreso depending on how you eat when those hormones are kicking in. Mine usually fluctuates about 4 lbs during the first few days. Just keep chugging that water to flush any sodium that could possibly be causing additional fluid retention and think about how awesome it is to…
  • I have begun weighing what can't be measured in a cup, measuring in a cup what can be, & counting what I grab a handful of. Today I measured and cut boneless breasts into 3 - 3 1/2 oz portions and cooked them to use over the next few days. If it's not previously measured, I have to eyeball it (like the guacamole on my…
  • I walked 5 miles yesterday, but am dealing with massive foot pain (plantar fasciitis), so today I think I WANT to walk hard and fast for an hour, but will commit to 30 minutes at a normal pace. Maybe I'll break out my dusty Danskin dumbbell set & work my arms.
  • I am trying to get that mojo back. Walked 5 miles yesterday but have been dealing with plantar fasciitis the last few weeks, so I'm trying not to let that set me back. I've been in your group for about a week now and am enjoying it so far! Thanks!
  • Yes, I'm with ammebee here. As soon as you eat, drink, or go to the bathroom you're gaining or losing, s weighing more than once a day can end up being discouraging. As far as I know, usually just heart failure patients should weigh everyday to monitor potential fluid build-up. I think the rule of thumb is to weight…
  • My challenge was to not touch a single mini jelly bean that I usually have 60+ of........ I didn't have even one! I'm just ready for the container to be gone!
  • Can a challenge be deleting a high calorie/sugar food from my diet today? I will challenge myself to not touch a single mini jelly bean in the Sam's Club size container!
  • Since walking 3 mi was my goal yesterday and I did none, I did not meet my goal; therefore, that's my goal again today.
  • I agree! If someone runs 40-45 minutes, they're surely doing more than my 1 hour! lol!

  • LOL! I did that on the I - Ps
  • Georgia - the Savannah area, but originally from Mt. Pleasant, SC...... the Charleston area :)
  • That's a good one! I haven't heard that one yet :) Thanks!
  • Yes! I learned "shop the perimeter of the store" years ago from a great phys ed instructor in college and I do try to keep it in mind........ too bad my husband found the darn ice cream on the perimeter! lol
  • I think measuring your food (#3) and cook your own dinners (#25) are very important. (#25) As stated, it's amazing what/how much we find is in the foods we eat that are prepared by others or restaurants. We never eat Italian (unless I cook spag or lasagna) but took our son to Olive Garden for his birthday (first time we…
  • Today, my goal is to officially start this journey! Somehow I missed that yesterday was the start date with the group, but I joined MFP a few days ago and my "no more excuses" date has been today.... so here I am and will do what I can. As for a specific exercise goal, I plan to get out and walk 3 miles whether it's in the…
