Sitting down was also my downfall, although it happened over a very long period. (well that and beer, and a lack of exerise). I've lost a bit, bit still some to go for I am where I want to be. The website has been really useful and I can't recommend it enough. Good luck, and I'll send over a FR.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. My lunch is fairly balanced with a meat sandwich, some fruit, a babybel. I'm not really a tea drinker either (as someone asked), but apples and water, as well as walk round the office are simple and easy to do. I'll give that a go next time. I'll also look into the dark chocolate as I'll…

Can't take a nap, 'coz I'm at work (well I can, but then I won't be working for long) and similar for the walk. I also don't like coffee. I know....I'm not making this easy! Any other suggestions??

As part of a 10K, which I do regularly (ish) I will run about an 8 minute mile. Various conditions will affect this and it's best to judge it over a period of time. But unless you're racing you only need to test you against you (and you don't even have to do that if you don't want to). You've done the hard part and well…

It's a difficult notion to stick rigidly to something for the rest of your life. The majority on here are here for the purposes of losing weight, maintaining weight, or controlling a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of life is to live, so cheat days are like your body going on holiday. As long as it's not too regular then…

Each to their own, and I understand why some measure all three (and others) but, for me, it's all about the calories.

You'll be concentrating on yourself, where your going, things to look at etc, you'll probably find very quickly that you forget about others. Music will also help you 'lose yourself'. I find it better to run outdoors than inside (where i get bored, quickly). There are all kinds of people in the world and some may react as…

Yeah, I use a similar idea, basically because I don't exercise the same one day to the next or because (primarily) my family dinners vary in calorie amounts from day to day. Some days I'm over and some I can be under, sometimes significantly (although this tends to be exercise heavy days). I've done it since the start and…

I've had these before and if you can ignore the fact there's a hole in the middle they do actually just taste the same. One day wont ruin all your work, but equally - it's a day out for your son - and is there anything we won't do for our children????

Outstanding. Well done!

I used to work in a supermarket when I was at University. The manual labour involved (as well as the fact that I was quite active at the time) kept the weight off. I was younger and could eat and drink without thinking too much. Finished Uni, got a proper job (in an office), still active, but spent more time in front of PC…

I'm only daily and my diary is accessible to friends. Please feel free to add me.

Hell, yes. I like my food, and by that I mean pizza, crisps, cream cakes - but I understand the need to keep the weight down  Exercise is how I do it. You can't spend all you're time eating lettuce in case you get fact (no offense intended to any lettuce eaters:devil: )
