This is awesome! Congratulations. I'm hoping this will be my statement after a Disney trip next month!

I'm in (forgot to start yesterday)! Age: 32 Height: 5'7 SW: 234.6 (4/24/17) CW: 213.8 Wednesday 5/09 – 213.8 lbs Comment: Been to the gym twice already this week, and going tonight. Stayed under my food goals so far and attempting to incorporate more vegetables into my meals for better health.

I would recommend the book "brain over binge" by Kathryn Hansen (spelling?) for anyone looking for binge eating recovery. I have been a binge eater most of my life, and I'm not 7 days into recovery!

Thank you for sharing your story! You have inspired me to seek help with my binge episodes.

Reach 20 lbs lost, only .5 away! Goal 2 is to stay there! Lol

What is your advice for people just starting out low carb?
-
I've found that's the true key to consistency. Telling yourself being bad momentarily will not license me to be bad forever!

Now that you mention it, I can always tell when it's time because all the sugar, fat, and salt cravings I dealt with on a daily basis all but disappear until right before Shark Week. My awareness to it has developed!

Monday I had a 'set-back' day. Late in the afternoon I binged on anything I wanted to eat, and skipped exercise to lay in bed feeling horrible after my binge episode. The NSV, the next morning I got up and went back to my planned meal prep. I resisted the angry mental voice to 'not eat today' to balance out the bad I had…

You go girl! Awesome job!

I love this! I'm hoping this will be what my "after goal weight" life looks like!

Yesterday I pulled out a pair of pants, from the back of my closet, that I bought last year and they didn't fit. I thought I would see how close I was to fitting into them, since I am about the same weight I was when I bought them (the difference being I had stopped working out and eating right so I was growing not…

5k run in 3 weeks. It's been 2 years since I joined a 5k. Initially I was going to try to cut my time from that last run but I've been so out of shape the goal is just to get through the run!

After a month of healthy eating mine swung from 28-29 days, to 35!!! My husband and I both freaked out a little although I figured it was the changes to my diet. The next month it was back to 28.

Out of curiosity, did you ever struggle with binge eating? Edit: Before you were calorie counting on a consistent basis?
-
The same thing happened to me. I had my calories set high when I first started counting and the weight was dropping off. I was eating the same foods, and working out the same. When I dropped my calorie goal my weight slowed and then stopped all together. I was still eating the same healthy foods, exercising the same amount…

Very informational! I've been working on sticking to a calorie deficit and cutting back on sugar. Sometimes when I get afternoon cravings I want to binge eat sugar I go lay down instead. Getting some sleep fends off going to out of control, even when I didn't think I was that tired.

What I was doing that was holding my weight loss back was waking up with no plans about my eating. Once I started doing a weekly meal prep to at least cover breakfast, lunch, and snacks, the guess work was taken away. I stopped the drifting feeling I was getting and started making my calorie goals. My binges also slowly…

Great job! Thank you for the 2-year update!

I would like to see! Your figure looks amazing in your icon!

In October of 2009 I had bariatric surgery that got me down to 165 in 2010. I maintained, which was easy at that time in my life. I was working a very active job (up and down countless flights of stairs, cleaning, moving, etc) and had a discounted gym membership. First I was forced to leave my job, lost out on my gym…

Did you buy a Zumba DVD or did you use an online source? Care to share? =)

It's amazing! The skinner you get, the more your body hair gets scared and goes away.

Thank you for this post. I have had a very difficult week, more down days than up. I have been discouraged, un-motivated, and harping on myself. However, you have given me a smile and spark of inspiration. Thank you!
