I would run 7 easy miles that evening so that you get 20 or so miles for the day.

I ran about 500 miles in 2014. I'm guessing I'll run about 1300 miles in 2015.

"Pain is temporary, but I'm glorious forever!" Also, the Rocky song gets me going when I don't think I have any more left.

coffee counts as coffee and tea counts at tea. I have about 3 cups of coffee in the morning and then I try to drink 6-7 cups of water throughout the day.

when did sugar become the devil? I thought pork was the devil?

i'm only negative with myself when I don't meet my goal time. people often reply, "but you ran a half marathon!"
-
no guilt here. I have a cheat meal just about everyday! sometimes twice a day!
-
good stuff. keep on, keeping on!

I don't get hungry at all. matter of fact, I can't hit my calorie and protein count. I'm on a strict diet for the next 8 weeks and I have to eat 3400 calories of clean food. I'm consuming, on average, 3000 calories a day. the struggle! I think you need to eat more protein to keep you full longer.

a buddy of mine had similar pain. he ran a half marathon with me and during mile 8 or 9, his right foot started to hurt. he kept going and finished the race. he took about a month off and the pain persisted. he just went to the doctor and got some x-rays done and it turned out that he had a hairline fracture in the outer…

i'm thinking about it! I got as far as printing the training schedule and looking at a couple of races. one in January 2015 or the other in may 2015. stuff just got real!

I like this thread!!!! I just started doing tempo runs and will do my third this Sunday! I plan on doing a 3 mile warm up, then an 8 minute mile for miles 4-7, then a 3 mile cool down. I found out that I need to write down my times; otherwise, I won't hit my splits: 1 - 9:30 2 - 9:15 3 - 9:00 4-7: 8:00 8 - 9:00 9 - 9:15 10…

so your answer is to skip breakfast altogther? They say breakfast is most important meal of the day. i have a huge breakfast, between 1,000 - 1,100 calories, every day. i suggest eating a small meal like whole gran toast with all natural peanut butter and a banana. that's about 315 calories righ there.
-
I suggest you eat more and incorporate some cross training in your work-out regimen.

i too live in a safe area with strict dog laws, but that doesn't mean the occasional dog doesn't get loose. there are a lot of wild life here like deer, foxes and wolves. i've taken a small pocket knife with me once or twice, in case a dog charged at me, but that's about it.

I'm a baseball player doing some running and cycling. I get Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter. Ingredients included: peanuts. It's also low in sugar. A little more work is involved because you have to mix the oil back in, but I don't mind. I advise that you compare ingredients with any products you consume. Good luck.
