I'm off work today. I have got lots of errands to run but I am determined to get a good workout in. I've been too busy the last few days to do any form of exercise other than walking around. I logged a 2lb loss yesterday so that has given me some motivation to make good choices today. Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Hi! I first joined MFP 10 years ago and over the course of two years lost 120lbs. Over the last 8 years I have put ALL of it back on! I'm so cross at myself for letting it slowly creep back on, after all the hard work I put into losing it the first time! I'm back on MFP to do the slog all over again. I've so far lost about…

Sussex here

I Would eat until I felt sick. I could get through a great hole bottle of full fat Mayo every week. Now the low fat one lasts a month. I used to eat Pringles and dip for dinner. I could get through 4 big big bars of chocolate every week. I used to take the bus for a 5 minute walking journey. So bad lol

I'm a 5'3 girl, 182lbs and I net about 2000+ a day to lose weight. HonestlyHonestly your goal is appropriate for you. Go with it for a few weeks and see how you go.
-
I know this probably isn't an uncommon tip but just thought I'd throw it out there as I notice a lot of my friends getting told otherwise on their walls: If you go out to eat, enjoy it. Don't pour over a menu miserably trying to pick the lowest calorie option while thinking you'd reeeaally much prefer that steak. Enjoy…

Arrgh can't quote to save my life lol

I have the same issue! I usually allocate anywhere from 200-400 calories for an evening snack but its still so hard sometimes not to go crazy. I think its because I get bored in the evenings so I snack to give me something to do. I find putting on my headphones and listening to some good music can help keep my mind off of…

Haha I posted the same when I first started. I shouldn't worry. 1700 really isn't that much. I net about 2000 calories a day now and I'm still losing, currently weigh 182lbs. Give it a try for a while and see.

I've lost 126lbs. I have loads of loose skin which nothing seems to be helping. I had loads of stretch marks so I guess I stretched out my skin so much that only so much of it could be expected to go back. Once I reach my goal I'm going to try and see if a bulk will help it somewhat. Being more energised and healthy is…

Avocados and cherries. Love them but so damn expensive!

Give it a bit longer. I had this at first and expected to see big changes on the measuring tape. Depending on how much you weigh 10lbs may not be that big a loss % wise. That 10lbs is coming off from all over your body so it just means there have been little changes everywhere. Measure every 6-8 weeks or so.
-
So assuming the calorie burn is approximately correct....you are 5'10 and netting 900 calories a day?... Up your calories and reduce the amount of weight to expect to lose each week. You are not exceedingly overweight so the process should be a gradual one.
-
To be honest I don't mind seeing them in the negatives. I'm more concerned about the calories. That said I do try to get as much protein as I can but that never gets into the negatives :/ If you know roughly how many calories you'll burn eat them earlier on in the day before the workout.
-
If you under fuel your body you could risk losing lean muscle tissue along with the fat. This would include muscle tissue from your body organs so best to try and eat as much as you can while still being able to lose weight. You may also find if you stay on really low calories for a while you will find it harder to keep…

Im definitely an emotional eater. That said ive made peace with the fact that I will always be a foodie. Im just trying to slowly redirect my obsession with food towards a healthier perspective. I get as excited about a nommy salad now as I do a piece of cake. Still working on picking the salad OVER the cake though lol

You are likely to have lots of hiccups along the way. Don't let them put you off. You'll feel much worse for giving up completely than you would for one day going over calories.
-
Snacking is not inherently bad. If you don't have enough calories for the day add in some snacks. Nuts, seeds, avocado are all good high calorie options to add in and abundant in healthy fats. Don't be so concerned with eating only 'good' foods that you end up underfueling your body. Have a treat to make up the calories if…

Ive lost just over 8 1/2 stone so far. Add me if you like

Have a look online. You can make your own :)

The OP is quite young and tall ish for a girl. At 17stone I would hazard her maintainence is quite above 2000. I had a look at her diary. Some days she was eating nearly 3000 and estimating her burn at 800+ calories. She was way over goal a lot. Understandable with it being Christmas. I just think the estimation needs to…
-
She was thinking that she was eating 2000 but was obviously waaay overestimating her calorie burn. If she calculates it properly then 2000 a day should be a suitable amount. I have mfp friends who maintain on 2300+ NET a day who are quite petite. The OP should be able to lose on 2000 People on this site just seem to obsess…

I cant tell you what to do but I can tell you what's worked for me so far. I started at 308lbs 5'3 and a size 26. Im currently 186lbs and a size 14/16. I started at 2100 calories per day which I now believe was too low for me at the time (live and learn ey). I am still eating 2000 NET a day and losing weight, so don't…

Occasionally being hungry would be normal as your getting used to a lower intake. But if you are constantly hungry you may need to either up your calories or increase your consumption of filling low calorie foods like fruit/veg etc. On days where I can tell im going to be ravenous (usually around that time of the month) I…

This. I've been stuck for 4 weeks before. Refused to change my calorie goal because...well I like food too much. In the end it started dropping back down by itself anyway. Relax. Give it a bit longer before you drop cals.

#2= More food, improved health due to exercise, not feeling hangry...what are the cons?
-
The only way the 5:2 diet would work is if you are not going crazy on the 'free' days. I know if I ate 'whatever I wanted' 5 days a week I'd end up wiping out the deficit I'd created during the 2 days. Plus I'd end up wanting to kill someone during the 500 calories days. I'd rather learn how to eat sensibly and fit treats…
-
Or you could just eat at a reasonable deficit each day and make room for cake etc in your day. I treat myself everyday.

I feed my toddler more than this and she's tiny! Eat more.
