I'm trying this tonight!

Me too! I just go with my habit and don't try that don't eat after 6 pm thing. Especially because I can't sleep if hungry. I need my calories for a couple hours before bed to avoid hunger and enable sleep.

no. It means that total calories consumed should be less then total calories burned for the entire day. calories for the day will include calories burned just living outside of exercise). Mfp and other sites can help you calculate.

Also try a after work out drink. There are low calorie ones and these are designed to return you electrolytes to normal levels. This can help. They only actually have one flavor but I like this one. It is during exercise. http://www.extremesportsdrinks.com/index.php

Weight Lift. Sit-ups, roman chair. Lots and lots of different kinds of crunches. This will tone. So after you have lost weight with your calorie deficit you will be nicely toned. Start with more then 5 min of cardio. You are getting your heart rate up and warming up your muscles for safety. So 10-15 min of cardio to warm…

It sounds like you have starved yourself. That can cause upset stomach when you try to start eating again. I would suggest eating more. Slowly ease yourself in with things that are easier to eat. If your in ability to eat persists for any amount of time see a doctor. I have struggled with weight and been up and down…

While there is definitely a mystery to grapefruit. Note many medications don't work if you are eating grapefruit and no one really knows why. But I doubt the amount of help the grapefruit would give you would counteract the impact of eating something you don't like. The key to weight loss/maintenance is finding a way you…

purple haze goat cheese, lavendar honey and bosc pear toasts. Yum!

Mashies and Greens! Rutabaga and Tuscan Kale with a little garlic and horseradish.

This is probably the best advice. If you toss out the scale and just start lifting free weights you will probably see the tone you are looking for no matter what your weight. Also crunches crunches crunches. You can never have enough.

Way to go!!! You are well on your way to achieving "poster child" status. Keep it up!

This is a good point. Weighing yourself isn't the best measurement of health or appearance. It is better to use how your clothes fit as a measurement of appearance. And a yearly physical as a measurement of health.

So it is generally used as a rule that you most have a 3500 calorie deficit to lose 1 lb of weight. Keep in mind it would be very aggressive to lose 3 lbs a week 1 lb would be average. So instead of tracking day to day you could track whether total week intake is 3500 to 10500 less then total week burned. So for example if…

Are you tracking your calories?

Hahahaha. Don't trust anything you are told by a minimum wage employee. When I was in high school I worked at McDonalds. Everyone always asked what things were made of. We always just told them whatever we thought they wanted to hear. We had no idea what they are made from. "Is the ice cream frozen yogurt" Answer: "Yes".…

I usually net around 800 as well. Makes me feel better to find out this isn't odd for my height. Always kept it a secret 'cause everyone says you should not go below 1200.

1) I would say the same as others if lettuce is the problem. Healthy/Salad does not necessarily mean lettuce or even leafy green. Or raw. Just mix up any veggies and healthy protein companions you like. 2) Also, cooled roasted veggies. Like roasted beets, red peppers, zucchini or eggplant. I love 'em. No lettuce needed. 3)…

Jarred Bruschetta! Genius. I am stealing that idea.

Spent the day helping my sister in law (Tara), who has 4 kids (2, 4, 6 and 8 yrs). All are sick. Flu or god only knows. Tara hasn't been able to keep anything down for 3 days. Little one sneezed directly in my face 3 times. Zicam and finger crossing to avoid sickness, but expecting to get sick. Always loose control of my…

This is awesome. I hate checking scales, but always get sucked in by them. 161 lbs. 5' 4". 37. Started off burning 150 cal shoveling snow here in Pennsylvania this morning. Yay snow!

Soup: Add a couple cans of low sodium veggie broth and a couple cans of diced tomatoes. Then load up all the veggies you love. I like spinach, fennel, carrots, parsley, celery, mushrooms, onions... Keep the spices simple. I add bay leaves maybe a little garlic. Portion and freeze. Then when you pull it out of the freezer…
