  • Congratulations!!!!!! I want to do this when it comes to WI in September! It looks awesome!!
  • Congratulations on your weight loss and your lifestyle change! Fabulous words of wisdom! :)
  • Thank you for correcting my mistake.
  • You got it!! That's why it's not a "diet" ....it's a lifestyle!! Best of luck on your journey! :)
  • I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that the BMR is what your body needs to maintain your weight (1493). In order to continue losing, you're goal calories of 1370 will creat the deficit you need to lose. And congrats on your weight loss so far! :)
  • I just finished my first 5K on Sat in 25 min and 25 seconds. I was pretty happy with my time. I think if you're just out there moving, you're doing pretty good! :)

  • Great info! Thanks! :)
  • I am not a weight lifter. 30DS is really as close as I've come to strength training (yes, it is sad, I know. lol). The DVD has 3 levels. I would say (again, my opinion) that it's a full body work out in each level, but the same muscles every time. Hits the main ones - lots of quads, calves, biceps, and abs, with a little…
  • I did the the 30 Day Shred for 30 consecutive days. Also did running, rollerblading, and/or Zumba almost every day with it. No weight loss, but 8.75" gone. My clothes fit better than they did when I was at 135 last fall (10lbs lighter than now). Big time toning! Love this dvd! :)
  • I used circuit training before I got my heart rate monitor. Once I got my heart rate monitor, I found that MFP really overestimated the calories I burned. I really like 30 Day Shred!! You'll be amazed with the results! :)
  • That's fantastic! I, too, would love to know your routine! :)
  • I did a lot of research before getting mine. I am cheap to the core and it was really tough to order one, but I'm so glad I did. I decided on the Polar FT4. Got it from Amazon for $77. It's not as fancy as some of the others, but it gives me heart rate range, heart rate, calories burned, duration of workout, and time of…
  • Per my heart rate monitor, I'm usually 450-550/hour. My sister is usually 650-750/hour. Physically, we are very similar and both have the same un-coordination (lol). We bust our butts in class, really get into it, and are dripping with sweat by the end. So, as you can see, it varies per person. Before my heart rate…
  • First of all - Welcome and congrats on the weight you've lost already!! If you're looking for advise (that's a can of worms! lol) - I like this saying: Fail to plan then you plan to fail. I do a once a week meal plan for every meal and once a week grocery run. Everything is planned out so that I don't run into "What am I…
  • You are doing amazing!!!! Great job!!! :)
  • You can do it!

  • I have the Polar FT4. I got mine from Amazon. It has a chest strap which I wear right under my breasts (usually under my sports bra) to which the transmitter snaps on. There are 2 electrodes on the chest strap. According to the instructions, you're supposed to wet these electrodes to ensure a proper heart rate display. The…
  • Yup, I rinse it out after each workout and it goes in the wash a probably twice a week. But before a workout, the electrodes on the belt are supposed to be wet down for a proper reading. I really love my HRM!! :)
  • I had the same disappointment. Was sooo excited to get my Polar FT4, and after the first week, was so bummed at the lower calories burned. I've used my HRM for Zumba, Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, Slim in Six Burn it Up, treadmill, roller blading, and running outside. I have to adjust the number that MFP gives me when I…
  • Great job!!! Way to stick with it!! :)
  • I don't have any advice to you, but just wanted to say that I'm in the same boat and can empathize with you! I'm hoping that someone will have some good advice! :)
  • That's a lot of calories to burn in a week - if my math is right, that's about 643 calories/day. I can hit that if I do my 4 mile run or 5 mile rollerblade loop along with a workout dvd. But that's 1-2 hrs of working out/day. How much time do you have to work out every day? What is your usual workout?
  • You're doing fantastic! :)
  • Hi ya! My workouts are usually 4 miles on the treadmill and/or the Slim in Six series Burn it up dvd. I do Zumba with my sister once a week if we can escape from home to go to class. I just started the 30DS Sat. Equipment, all you need is 3 or 5 lbs hand weights and a mat if you're working out on a hard surface. I, too,…
  • I just started this today! Did Level 1 and Level 2 - my arms are shaking! lol! My goal is 30 days straight! I'd love to join in with anyone else just starting. :)
  • First, congrats on reaching goal! That's fantastic! I feel like I'm always fighting my two halves. Upper tones up nicely and bottom is not proportionate. I keep working those squats, lunges, and cardio, hoping that some day everything will match! :)
  • I've been stuck on my last 10lbs for a few months now. Maybe you could try switching up eating and/or your workouts? I'm usually just a cardio girl and would love to start some strength training, but at a loss as to where to start. I'm sure if I did, I'd see a turn in the scales. So maybe if you jumped on the treadmill or…
  • I think that you're starting with the right attitude! It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle! I take it day by day. If I have a bad day, food or otherwise, I don't beat myself up. Tomorrow is a new day! Good luck on your new lifestyle! :) Nikki
