I know exactly how you feel - I never feel full, even when my stomach is distended like a python digesting a wildebeest! I have mixed success dealing with it - most days I manage by eating large volumes of low calorie food and doing lots of cardio, but that's not an ideal solution. I think Dave's suggestion of water and…

3 minutes is more than yesterday. Tomorrow it may be 3 and a half - any step forward is a good one - congratulate yourself for what you have acheived rather than beat yourself up for what you have not.

I'm always hungry :) Sugar-free jelly is about 40 cals for a pints worth...cauliflour and mushrooms also have a pretty low cal-to-volume ratio!

I'm kind of a weak-*kitten*, and I use a pair of 12's. My class does a routine of 30secs each of Snatch Front squat Clean & Press Front Squat Deadlift Front Squat Swing .....and then a 3 minute rest before doing it again. A few reps of that is quite intense for me.

Man checking in here - feel free to add.

Illinois - Sufjan Stevens. Never a wrong time for that album!

I have the fitbit aria. Expensive, but hold their value well so not a bad investment. That said, I reckon a cheap pair of callipers might be more use for body fat measurement.

You guys are inspiring - well done!

That is an awesome achievement, well done! I'm not sure longer strides are necessarily the way forward (pardon the pun) though. I think a cadence of about 180 is considered ideal (my problem is my strides are *too* long and not quick enough. Honestly though - run the way that feels natural to you and continue enjoying it!

Congratulations! Exercise is what finally helped me quit smoking. I took up running in a misguided attempt to offset some of the effects of smoking...over time the running made me want to smoke less (I'd think - "I've just put myself through an hour of hell - I'm damned if I'm going to undo all that work for the sake of a…

You've got this covered - you can do it. Every time you stumble a little, remind yourself why you want this, and why it's more important to you than a handful of chocolates that you'll have forgotten in five minutes (then perhaps have one :)). There's no need to deny yourself things forever, and there's no need to beat…

Happy to support, feel free to add!

So much this! I look older after losing weight - but I'm happier for it, and there's no way I'd go back.

True. Sorry, I meant not structured in the sense of following a recognised program. I do have set exercises for set days and record results.
-
Thanks. I'm not doing structured training (I'm not a gym member, and wouldn't be comfortable joining and using weights at the moment), but am hitting the pushups and dumbells as much as I can at home. Just started a kettlebell class as well - hoping to get at least *some* strength before I look into proper lifting!
-
Thanks guys. I'll stick with the deficit for a while then and crack on with the training!

On the one hand, it can seem a right pain logging every sprig of broccoli...it seems like it'd have a negligible net calorific impact. On the other hand, it must all add up - elephants and rhinos manage to get to a fair old size on nothing but healthy veggies!

I use a bluetooth HRM with my smartphone. I use Endomondo to track activity with it (although there are a variety of other apps that I'm sure are just as good). Works well for me, and synchronises nicely with MFP. I suppose some might find it a pain having to carry the phone around while running etc, but I tend to have it…

Probably a tapeworm.

And me!

Well done - you've taken some huge steps there. I'm an ex-smoker myself and know how hard it is to quit - but it's totally worthwhile. Keep it up!
-
Feel free to add me. Well done making the decision to give it another go!

Count me in please (not quite there yet but not long now...)
-
Thanks - sure is a wealth of experience there...looking forward to seeing what I can put into practice!
