  • I am glad to hear this about the fasting. I generally am a 3 meals a day person but have been snacking way too much the last couple of months. Trying a 10am-7 pm plan with lots and lots of liquids.
  • the silver sneakers online has so many classes and so much resource material. Humana has some and if there is a local Humana community site there is a lot more: classes, movies, cooking demos.
  • I am 69. I was going to the gym for 2 yeas before COVID and in pretty good shape. still had 10 # to loose. Now I am up another 10#, snacking at night and essentially NO exercise. I signed up for a week of Intermittent Fasting tacking and education and am 3 days in and 2.6# down. Not sure I am doing it right. I am on a…
  • add in things like cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese sticks, peanut butter, eggs. If you are not hitting your proteins then you have all kinds of other issues.
  • Love the idea. did the ticker
  • I have been blowing past goals right and left lately but regular logging has gotten a lot easier with a couple of phone apps. I need to also do weight training 2x/week and something for flexibility. I will continue indoor bike 2x/week with goal of a 45 min session. Outdoor walks of ~5mi 3-4x/week with husband with…
  • so it has been a while, how are things going now?
  • do not bother with weight loss diets but plan your good food plan and go with it. Plan for snacks and treats if that is your desired lifestyle. Check your BMR and try to eat 1000 above it for the baby. See if you stay stable. subtract 100 cal/day or walk 100 cal/ day more and see if you do not start to lose. Get out and…
  • are you measuring yourself? As you reduce fat, which weighs less and replace it with more muscle, which weighs more, your weight will even increase at times. You will lose inches though over time. You have come a very long way already!! good for you. You can also have your body fat% calculated weekly and see the change…
  • Lots of times you can find the info on the company website and put it into the data base
  • :( end of 4th week and at least my endurance is up and most of the bone and muscle pain is gone. My weight is not going down even with being careful most days. Have had a couple of treat days this week and lots of salt. I am at the max on all of the supplements now so we'll see what happens.
  • too many cheat days this week but I worked out almost every day. My weight is bouncing up and down a lot every day. Meds are not helping with weight loss but feel so much better so am sure things will work out in a couple of weeks. Measurements are actually down a bit even with being puffy today.
  • If you added doing the squats then yes
  • just one more thing to look at while losing weight is your BMI. this calculator uses age and sex as part of the calculation. http://www.smartbmicalculator.com
  • can you explain why and what the problem is. K2 is a recommended protocol in D3 treatment. I get lots of K anyway as we are big greens eaters. It is not for Vit D3 absorption, it is for calcium absorption.
  • Day 13 and I am staying on a reduced calorie plan, added exercise and weight just does not want to budge. At least I feel less fatigued and am not hungry. Hope something changes soon.
  • Ill enter a column for measurements, shall I put in chest waist hips thighs & bicep?[/quote] I think using the MFP measurements is best. I personally do arms thighs and belly too but don't want it to become too long so keeping it uniform to MFP may be best unless as a group there is a measurement people really want…
  • I am back on the real deal hormones for now-Estradiol and progesterone with DHEA until I get my levels back up. I hope you are getting all your levels checked to get to a better place. I actually am beginning to feel like things are improving. Lot less nap time, a bit more energy-I even did aerobics in the park today!
  • Don't have 40 but need to have some motivation. Restarted about 6 weeks ago but just found I am very hormone deficient last Friday started on all kinds of meds including D3 and Thyroid. I am doing careful tracking and 25 min aerobics daily to start off. I lost down to GW over 2 years ago and let myself get sloppy with bad…
  • Just started careful tracking last Friday. count me in. I have lost 4# this week
  • Be sure to get your D3 checked too. I was stunned at how low it was and I take good supplements.
  • Guess the meds and the careful food plan are working. I feel between wonderful and totally awful every day but the joints do not hurt anymore or the legs. I have lost 4 # this week and am sleeping better. So a little sunshine in the mess. Going to be a long month getting past the initial phase of this.
  • I am spending a lot of time investigating the whole thing and the interplay of the various hormones. I think the weight loss will come again but I am having to add a couple of fattier foods into my diet to provide some natural K2 to help the D3/calcium absorption. I have a check up in 7 weeks to see how things are going.…
  • I am on so much right now. NP Thyroid which is T3 and T4, D3 5000, Estradiol and Progesterone and DHEA plus a shot of Testosterone granules. I have been having good days like today where I am getting in my 25-30 minutes of aerobics and other days where it is hard to drag myself around the house. This guy is going to…
  • I will be 65 in October and I lost over 50# and kept it off for more than 2 years. This year a combination of things have impacted my life and what did I do but eat and quit exercising. I gained over 20# this spring and feel awful. My feet and joints hurt. I injured my lower back and after resting it for more than 2 months…
  • I know it has been months since you posted this but I am in the same situation now. Injured my back in March and stressed out at the same time. Gained 20#. I am now on a 30 day challenge to myself to get back on track. Interested in how you are doing now.
  • according to the table that came with my scale that measures hydration and % body fat the answer is yes, you can be too low. it is dependent on age as well. women should generally not be less than 22-24%. for men it is much lower. The scale is a Tanita.
  • a binge by the way was us having a whole plate of desserts at the potluck last night and extra bread. I was up all of .5 lb/ hubby 1.8lb. Bet most of that is just water weight over night and will be gone in a couple of days.
  • you have been dieting and restricting yourself to lose weight so everything looks like a lot more. things like the trail mix packets are nice as they are more nutrient and calorie dense but not real filling--around 230 cal. nice snack that you can even add a yogurt to complete the snack. Now you are up to nearly 300 and…
  • I posted to my blog-we are both reaching maintenance and having a bit of trouble making the transition. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/DiKoehler/view/increasing-to-maintenance-is-hard-to-do-643754 Let me know what you think.
