  • I think from what I've seen of people logging it you can probably safely assume 3-4 calories per minute as long as you are going steady. I don't bother logging it myself as I usually do pull-ups and chin-ups for at the most 20-30 cumulative minutes throughout a day. So that would be maybe 60-80. I did see somewhere online…

  • A lot of games that use camera's have this problem. I have a boxing game on the Playstation 3, it's supposed to see where you are to dodge punches and it doesn't read very well either. I see what some people do on youtube is hang a light coloured sheet or blanket behind them, which isn't ideal.

  • So true, it took me a long time to realize that. In fact it explains some very large athletes (linebackers mostly) who are incredibly fit cardio and strength wise under a lot of ballast. Exercising just makes you feel so much better and allows you to not feel like you are subsisting on strict portions.
  • If you want something simple and beginner based, try the stronglifts.com 5x5 program. It's basically 30 of lifting 3 times a week. You will NOT bulk up if you are woman, so don't worry about that, and it focuses on fundamental good form exercises with the squat as the major focus.

  • I personally like walking more when it's cold versus warm, I think probably more calories are burnt. It's -30 right now, but that only makes me walk faster ;) Of course I am wearing a balaclava, snowpants a parka and a knit hat.( I don't know if anyone other than a Canuck knows what a toque is)
