Ok, thanks!

I was around 330lbs at 23; then lost about 80lbs in my last year of university, then put about 20 back on over the last couple of years, and I'm still trying to find some motivation to lose another 70lbs or so, and finally work out. I'm not sure it ever changes.

I'd say it can give you an idea of what you could get to, but it probably won't be dead on. With sites that aim to predict your weight the problem is that they just use a stock formula which doesn't really cater to people as individuals. It's always a good number to use as motivation though.

I've lost about 70lbs and I still feel the same way and hate looking in the mirror too. I still feel the same sense of shame whenever I go out too. I'm hoping at some point (perhaps in the next 60lbs I have to lose) I'll get over it.

Feel free :-) Heh, that's what three horrific essays and a 10,000 word dissertation did to me! :p As I just finished university I don't really have any excuses now, lol.

I'm just 5 days past the 8 month mark and I've lost a little over 5 stone, though I was exceptionally overweight to begin with. I'd actually lost about 6 1/2 but I spent the last 6 weeks feeling sorry for myself and binge eating again. I also did it with almost no exercise so it's definitely possible if you work for it,…

You could do it one of two ways I guess. Make detailed plans of what you want to eat for a week making sure you're within your calorie goal and nutritional macros for each day and then go and shop for the specific items after carefully planning all your meals for the week. Honestly, I think the only way to do it here (and…

I stress and binge eat pizza, lol. On the bright side my nails are fine, though on the down side I'm a guy so I don't pay attention to them anyway :D

I'm confused... So her post about eating a salad and then working out for 45 mins leads you to believe that she needs to exercise more before she sleeps? Ermm... Okay then. We all play the 'blame and leave' game do we? I put plenty of thought into my response. The salad described by the OP is clearly 500- calories unless…

I've lost over 55lbs and even with pictures I can't see any differences to when I started and I've got about the same again to go. Really drains your motivation but if you give up early on you're never going to see any changes at all.
-
Nice to see I'm not the only one!
-
Last time I checked i was a guy. I also have a fairly serious amount of weight left to go. Feel free to add me.

I'm 56lbs down in about 4 1/2 months. However I had quite a lot more to lose than you seem to, which I'm sure is a big factor. However on ths flip side I've done literally no exercise so I don't see why it couldn't be done in your 6-8 month target.
-
330-274 for me so far. About halfway there. :ohwell:
-
I feel exactly the same after a little over 4 months and 56lbs. I see people that've lost 56lbs in success stories (even starting at my weight) and they look like new people... I literally look exactly the same (I even took photos the day after I started and look the same on them)... Totally illogical >.>

I don't really think it's a question of your size, it's more a question of your eating habits. For example if I made sure to eat diversely but I ate 3x what I was supposed to each day I would be getting more than enough of the necessary nutrients. However, if I chose to eat simply pizza & other fast food I wouldn't be. I'd…

Sadly for me the cravings are all still here regularly (I'm literally having to fight the desire to order not 1 but 2 take-away pizzas tonight and I'd eat them both) so props for that it's pretty dang cool!
-
Free bump as I'd like to know the answer to this too. I see absolutely 0 difference after what I've lost so far (though I'm nowhere near my goal).
-
Jeez no kidding. Down 160lbs is incredible!
-
If it makes you feel better, so do I... And I already got rid of a lil' over 50, lol.
-
Fair enough. I'm already totally on board with the 'eat what you like as long as you stay within your macros' mentality. I don't understand reducing certain elements as I'm trying to educate myself in fitness and not lose weight to simply balloon back up when I can't take some crazy diet anymore.
-
My cardio is a little limited for now because I had surgery for something unrelated to my weight a couple of weeks ago. Good to see stronglifts is popular I'll need to check it out. I guess the name should've been a bit of a giveaway!
-
Yeah. I've had a look at some of the basic exercises but I'm unsure which ones to do. For example sit ups (or crunches if you prefer) are great for stomach fat according to 50% of people and the other 50% claim that it's a myth that they burn fat though they do seem to aid in muscle building. Then you get the crowd that…

I have a bit of a reverse situation. My mother offers me food everytime I go back home when I'm off university for a few weeks. Literally everyday we'll go through the "do you want such and such for dinner?" and every day my reply will be "no thanks, I'll make something later". Everytime she then tries to make me feel…

Also just realised I should've posted this in the fitness and exercise forum. D'oh!

Are you registered with a GP? My doctor had no problem with measuring my body fat when I went in for a checkup and it only took a few minutes. You can also just ask t oget a medical certificate where they will give you a full medical evaluation and it costs upto £10 and can be free (depends on your specific doctor/surgery…
-
I'm going to come across as a totaly douche but oh well... Why on earth are you asking people to guess your body fat %? If you really think it's wrong simply go to your doctor and get it measured or find a fitness expert that can do it, or any other option. If you don't think it's wrong then why the heck does this exist?
-
That's a pretty good life hack then! Lol.
-
Fair enough. I figured it was more about muscle definition rather than weight loss; thanks!

Might be worth just adding smallamounts of rice or potato to what you eat for each meal. Trying to get a lot of the starchy foods in one might be what impacts upon your body making you sleepy.
