  • Congratulations on hitting your 150's!!!!! That is so awesome and I've been looking forward to seeing you hit it! I appreciate your idea of just being stubborn. I probably could use a little more stubborness. :D I am trying to lose about 3 or 4 pounds (Love small goals. They work well for me. I've lost 20 pounds that way.)…
  • I first noticed that my rings were not longer too tight. That was wonderful. The next step I noticed was when my shirts were actually a little loose around the rib cage, upper abdominal area. I was so excited! (I gain weight in my belly mostly.) It really does help to get a new shirt or pants to see what changes have taken…
  • Got 1.4 miles in today! Would love to get at least 2 in tomorrow. :D:happy:
  • Bump. So nice to be part of this group!
  • I'm 52 (53 this month), 5'4". I've lost about 20 pounds using MFP, Fitbit, and Leslie Sansone's DVDs. I joined MFP after losing a few pounds last year. I gained a little back this summer when my mom was in the hospital and I ate out at restaurants quite a bit. Still working on getting those pounds off and hoping to get to…
  • Momsamodel - Kim - I love stretching! It feels so good to stretch and get my muscles relaxed. Have you ever done any yoga? I'm wondering if that works the same way as stretching? I've been doing Leslie Sansone's Walking DVDs this month. Some of the videos on Fit2b. Does anyone know of a yoga DVD or type of yoga that is…
  • In for the recipes!
  • Hi All - Getting my exercise in by doing a Leslie Sansone DVD today! Hope you are all having a great day! :D Bump
  • lol! You are a great story teller! I was laughing and so glad you caught it in time. :D
  • Hi, I'm not sure how Topics work on MFP, but I would love to join up with this group! I need some MFP friends who are in my age group. :) I'm not sure how much I will be able to post right away. My mother is in the hospital and we're not sure when she's going to get to come home. After she's out, I would love to have a…
  • Looks awesome! I'm going to try it. I've been wanting to make snack bars, but didn't really know how. Yay! :)
  • Thank you, Sue, for such an encouraging post. I pray that those who read it will be encouraged and motivated to live a healthy life for themselves. No it's not easy, but it is so worth it. <3
  • I started using Seltzer Water. On hand I have Vintage Seltzer and Food Lion's Seltzer Water. Both list their ingredients as: Ingredients: Carbonated water. That's all! I have really enjoyed these seltzer waters with just a splash or two of juices. One day I was out of my typical Cranberry juice and even used orange juice.…
  • Good for you! What a great message to each of us. Your hands look lovely and I'm so happy you decided to wear your rings again. :) What a happy day!
  • Thank you for posting your journey! I am so happy that you are so close to your goal that you can taste it. :) I really look forward to your posts and all your encouragement! What a blessing you are!
  • How wonderful! What a great friend you have and enjoy your new Raspberry Dress!
  • Reply to djxil - You're welcome. I hope this helps her if this is what has happened to her abdominal area. It's nice to know that there is something that can be done. - Sorry, I replied directly to his post, but don't know why it didn't post directly under his post. :ohwell:
  • Hi Sue, It sounds like a wonderful day you have planned! I need to start planning ahead like you do. So far, I have just had one of my treats when I wanted it and had it for my snack time. I made my one hard-to-resist food last week...brownies. I'm so glad that I accidentally overcooked them and they were dry. It was much…
  • You might want to see if your ab muscles are separated. You can check that with the method described on the Fit2b site. I have that, unfortunately. Resulting in a poochy stomach. :P There are exercises that can help that. Here's the link directly to her Diastasis page: http://fit2b.us/how-to-check-for-diastasis-hd/ (Edited…
  • Hi Kelsey, I've had small children in the house. I so understand! (Mine are older now, so I'm able to get outside.) If you want to build up endurance and start small now until the weather warms up, you could try what I've been doing. I have 2 or 3 Leslie Sansone Walking DVDs. There are a couple at Walmart for $10. She…
  • I'm 5'4" and topped on my home scales at 151.5. I'm now down to 139 after 3 months. (I started MFP after I had lost a couple of pounds.) I can't really speak to losing 20 pounds in 3 months, since I didn't do it, but what really helped me stick with it was my FitBit. I have a friend who has lost 75 pounds and she had been…
  • Thank you for sharing your story. You are an inspiration to me. Not only in getting healthy and fit, but your perseverance helps me to see that we can do anything we decide to do. Now, I'm going to have to go think about that and what exactly do I want to do that I didn't think was possible. :) Thank you, Sue! I know you…
  • I would like to just follow this thread since it's difficult when I get stuck. I got stuck for over a month. Weight just like yours and bouncing up and down. (between 140 and 142.5...went to 144 one day.) Funny thing that happened to me with the weight loss kicking back in. During the holidays I kept to my calorie count;…
  • Yay! Good for you! I hope you have a wonderful time with everyone!!
  • I love soups, too! Especially lately. One of my current favorites...Pasta E. Fagioli. But I love 15 beans soup, Lentils and carrot soup, any type of stew. I would love to hear all the different soups everyone makes! Another favorite, trying anything new! Thanks for posting this!
  • We are here to pray for you and encourage you! You will do great and all the things that "need" to be done will get done. Please don't worry or be anxious. God will take care of everything and I'm sure Ed and the doctors will help! :)
  • Thank you for the wonderful reminder to plan ahead! It won't bother me to take very small portions of those items that I like. It's always been very uncomfortable to overeat and I will remind myself of that *before* I put a bunch of food on my plate. I really think that Thanksgiving is about time with family and friends…
  • Having 2 kids under 5 probably gives you lot of exercise! :) I do know that purposefully doing some exercise for yourself will give you more energy and then you will be able to adjust your exercise level to help you lose weight. Once I have my energy level up a little, it's easier to think "Hey, I can do this!" Wonder if…
  • Hi, I had Thyroid cancer and no longer have a thyroid at all. I think the best thing we can do is to walk or do some sort of exercise. That in itself will give you more energy. I've learned that when I exercise...even when I don't feel like I can...I end up with more energy after I've exercised for a week or so. Currently,…
