First of all - CONGRATULATIONS! That is an awesome achievement. The thing with clothes is, the smaller the sizes, the less pounds between them, if you know what I mean. When I was losing, you had to loose 15-20lbs. to go from a 14 to a 12, or so it seemed. The difference between an 8 and a 6 could be 5-10lbs. Depends on…

That is so awesome! I think I read it on one of these boards years ago, but holding a 5lb. bag of potatoes for every 5lbs. you lost. Really gives you an idea of how much extra weight your body was carrying.

I can't balance on one foot. I always have to hold something doing quad stretches. I thought it would improve over time, but nope. Too many back and neck injuries over the years - car and horseback riding accidents. I guess I'm lucky I can stand erect!

Gee, if only I had seen this sooner! :D

My petty reason is not being able to go to all the outdoor festivals, state fairs, craft fairs, etc. that I go to every year. The Spring and Summer just turned into a blur. And I retired at the end of March, just as the virus kicked off in NY (yay me!), so my plan to sell my condo and buy a place in Ireland has been put on…

@sjsmith81, it never ceases to amaze me that people think that it's appropriate to say things like that. You would never, ever hear anyone say, "don't you think you've gotten fat enough?" At least I wouldn't expect to.

My divorce kinda just hung around in limbo for a while, so really didn't get to celebrate. Would've LOVED to have a party and those cakes are awesome! Congratulations on yours, and always remember -

The first (and best) thing I did was face reality! I had been in denial for years about the weight I had gained, refused to weigh myself, etc. Once I opened my eyes and faced it, I researched the best way to go about changing it. And once I make up my mind to do something..... Had heard about MFP, from my brother, I think.…

Thanks, @Agent_Freckles !

@Agent_Freckles, can I ask you something? Do you know if sugar consumption always affect neuropathy, despite the cause? I have it in my hands, but not from diabetes; it's from chemo. I've never heard / been told about an association with sugar. Just curious.
-
At home, it's usually 1 tsp of sugar and 1-1.5 tbsps of light cream (10 oz. cup). At work, we have the Coffeemate Italian Sweet Cream, so I just use that without the sugar. I've definitely cut back on the sugar. Used to be 2 BIG teaspoons per cup!

Going to my 43rd High School reunion in October, so there's that. I remember watching the Beatles in B & W on Ed Sullivan WHEN IT AIRED, the Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. assassinations, the beginning of 'the space race' with Russia, the moon landing, the birth (and merciful death) of the 8-track, more fashion trends…

Before. Not at my highest weight, but I was about 1 year post-chemo and still had 'roid face; so sorta the same thing. Aren't a lot of pictures of my at my heaviest as I avoided the camera like the plague. After. About 64 pounds down. This is from a few months ago.

I was riding those bad boys back then. Funny related story - my sister was living in LA when "Welcome Back, Kotter' was on. In the opening sequence they had an 'el' (elevated subway) covered in graffiti and the people she was watching the show with thought that it was done just for the show! They wouldn't believe her that…

I was confused because so many people use 'woo' to describe diet BS, I thought that's what it was supposed to be for. 'woo'

At work, I've been living in a construction zone for 2 weeks. They're redoing the walls, ceiling tiles, light fixtures, carpeting, etc. in the hallways - all during the day while we're working! Big fun.

I was thinking the same thing. There must be some sort of threshold at $ 36K. Like the banks having to report cash deposits over $ 10K, so $ 9,999 doesn't get reported.

Apparently. Not sure if anyone every was, though.

* She has an extremely annoying voice, which I hear constantly because she talks to herself, out loud, all freakin' day; * She's constantly telling me I didn't give her something (which I know I did), makes a big deal out of it, then never says anything when she finds it. * Never bothers to look into anything or try to…

Gene Wilder - there's an artsy theater near me and they had a screening of 'Young Frankenstein' for the 25 1/2 anniversary. Spoke to him and he signed my DVD case of the movie. He'd been sick so he looked a little frail, but was in great spirits. Stuart Townsend (Irish actor, former squeeze of Charlize Theron) - same…

More nervous than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockin' chairs. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. A gem from my grandmother - 'Trust not those whose eyebrows meet, for in their heart there lies deceit.'
