Your best bet is to get a heart rate monitor that gives you a calorie estimate. Then you can enter your calories manually. In the mean time, you could probably log it as "walking" or "eliptical".

As far as I know all pedometers count your steps by the vibrations generated by your movement. The vibrations in a car or mower or motorcycle... whatever are likely to register. So to answer your question directly, no.

I have an Aurorae yoga mat. Lots of people swear by Manduko also. The Aurorae mat is thicker than Giam and come in some nice colors. Manduko is pretty heavy duty, but not pretty (if that matters to you).

My heart rate monitor gives me an estimate of calories burned, and I have noticed that what I burn doing DDP yoga is double (or more) the estimate that MFP gives for yoga.

The "rest day" is primarily for weight training. You want to give your muscles time to heal before working them hard with weights again. There is nothing wrong with doing cardio everyday. Especially if your cardio consists of 30 minutes on a bike, it's fine.

Depends on how sore I am. I have found that the more I move, the less sore I feel. Getting the blood pumping to sore muscles makes them feel better. It is after being still that I feel the most sore. The soreness does go away.

Delayed soreness is pretty common. If you are really sore (not able to move normally) for more than 2 or 3 days, you have probably overdone it. A good trainer will know this. Just tell it like it is. Working you so hard that you can't move should not be your trainer's goal and frankly can lead to injury.

Swimming and biking are great. If you want to think outside the box a little bit, try DDP Yoga. It is a modified form of yoga that can really get your heart rate up AND it may help with achey knees. It is on DVD and all you need is a heart rate monitor.

Not a movie, but if you have a tablet, look into BitGym. It's an app that takes you on "rides" through scenic places. It used the tablets backward facing camera to judge the speed. I use something similar on my treadmill and find it quite enjoyable.

jadekimbo, I log the calories from my heart rate monitor as "Yoga" under "Cardiovascular". In general it's usually at least twice the MFP estimate for yoga.

If you did these exercises as a circuit, you can log it as "Bodyweight training" under "Cardiovascular" and enter the time you spent doing it. That will give you a calorie estimate.

Steroids are a *****. Keep track of EVERYTHING you eat. No guessing. If you are eating fewer calories than you are using, you'll lose weight.
