Is DDP yoga safe?

So I'm currently training to be a yoga instructor, and I've learned a lot about the many, many ways people could potentially injure themselves while doing yoga. There's a lot that goes into alignment and even sequencing to prevent injury. Looking at some pictures/video of people doing DDP, I've noticed that a lot of them have poor alignment, which can be just poor muscle engagement in some poses, but can lead to serious injury in others. I want to be able to suggest it to students who would like a more cardio-based yoga practice (as opposed to a vinyasa flow class, if that's not really their thing), but I don't want to do it if it's unsafe.

Does anyone know?

I've been doing it for months. There is such an emphasis on modifying to your own level, I don't know how someone could injure themselves unless they are trying to work way beyond their level, but that is true on any exercise program. I think you can find at least small portions of some of the workouts on youtube, so you could check it out more closely. Also keep in mind that it is not suppose to be much like traditional yoga.

I've been a personal trainer for 14 years and, I personally don't recommend stuff I haven't tried myself (that's how I found DDP Yoga in the first place). I do it now because I love it.
