I'm looking for a beginner yoga DVD. I'm in pretty good shape I do cardio 3 days a week and strength training for 2. I'm interested in starting yoga but I want a DVD that 1. actually makes me feel like I'm getting a workout. 2. for someone who has never done yoga and is quite inflexible. Any suggestions?

Rodney Yee's videos seem to get pretty good recommendations. There have been prior threads with a similar question.

I applaud your interest in starting yoga. I just started about 3 months ago on the advice of a PT. I was recovering from a calf strain injury and she told me that improving my flexibility would be a big help in avoiding this injury in the future.
I was somewhat intimidated about taking a class. I've been a runner for years and am NOT flexible. I tried a couple of different videos and you tube videos before I ever started taking a class. My experience is that it was harder to be motivated with the video. Also, I didn't have an ideal setup at home to practice. The feedback from an instructor is really helpful.
Some friends encouraged me to get brave and just try a class. I did and it got a lot better. I've been taking through my local YMCA.
It really has helped my core strength and flexibility. I'm still a beginner, but I can see progress.0 -

Save your money and just find a good couple of routines on YouTube. I do that a lot.0 -
You might try DDP Yoga. It isn't like regular yoga. It's great for flexibility, but also for strength and even cardio. He does a great job of encouraging modifications depending on your level. I've been doing it for 7 months, but noticed some pretty significant increases in flexibility after just a few workouts. You can find it at ddpyoga.com0

yep, I do the routines on you tube regularly. Just search beginner's yoga or yoga for flexibility.
Exercise dvd's really aren't worth it with all that's available on the internet.0
