  • My crutch was and still is diet Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa. There are 2g of sugar per 8 oz. I had my vsg 11/12/13 and I still have a hard time with cold drinks.
  • Thanks you guys! You all have made such good points. I am starting to log everything again and I am calling my surgeon's office this afternoon to find a support group. I think that this will help me a lot. I just need to stop making excuses about life and get back to the program.
  • Ok I'm in one this one too! CW154.7 GW:145
  • I had forgotten about this! SW: 171.4 CW (on the 1st):155.7 WOOHOOO!!!
  • There are other supplements that aren't shakes. I can't do shakes either. I do protein drinks (Isopure 40g per 20oz, Whey Isolate 32 per 16.4oz, Yes Whey 25g per 3oz shot). I also eat tons of sea food (tuna, tilapia, salmon, shrimp, crab, imitation crab meat). There is a lot of protein in those. I don't hit my supplement…
  • I was experiencing pain above my stomach and it felt like something was stuck. This lasted a while and even when I was swallowing water the feeling was there. I was told that it was swelling. When I started introducing mushy foods it causes my incisions to become aggravated and start to swell. As I healed more the feeling…
  • My heaviest was just after my son was born I was 220 Height: 5'2 Starting weight: 204 Day of surgery: 198 (11/12/13) Jeans size: 14 Shirt size: XL Shoe size 8 1/2 Current weight: 162 Jean size: 10 Shirt size: L & M Shoe size: 8 1/2 (No matter my size my ankles and feel were oddly skinny) Goal weight: 130 I am hoping to hit…
  • Yes!! I just hit my first stall this week. (I was sleeved 11/12/13). i weigh in on Tuesdays and I was up 0.3 lbs. When I got In the scale Wednesday and it was a loss again! The past two weeks I have been trying to up my fluids and actually take my vitamins and I think that my body just needed time to adjust. Stalls are…
  • I was also sleeved 11/12/13! I am always looking for new friends on MFP!! Please add me
  • I had my surgery 11/12/13. I can eat 2 ounce or 1/4 cup of food at a time. I never thought getting enough food would be the problem. are there any high calorie high protein things I should try? I have not hit a stall yet but last week I only lost 1.5 lbs. I do exercise and I am starting to do more each day.
  • I still wore heels at my heaviest but it was a struggle. I had to constantly be aware of my feet. I would easily lose balance too. I am a shoe fanatic. I have so many different pairs that I love but have never worn. For the past few week I have noticed that I can walk so much better in heels. I don't have to think about my…
  • There are a lot of us in the group VSGers
  • Congratulations! When it comes to exercise just remember that lots of things will get your heart rate up and burn calories. It's been cold and snowy here too so I've been putting on music and dancing like crazy! Lol! I also try to keep a steady pace when I'm on the phone. I even walk up and down the stairs when I can't get…
  • This is my first challenge! Excited to be motivated in a different way :) CW:171.4 GW:155
  • I ran after my son in heels! Before I started losing weight I had to constantly think about my footing so that I would not lose my balance on my heels. I am a shoe fanatic and it will only get better1 I cant wait to wear more of my stilettos!
  • That's so awesome you guys!!!
  • Thanks you!!!
  • Every strand that I lose has me freaking out. I have not noticed any big loses yet but it is a big concern. What kind of vitamins and biotin do you use?
  • I am 4 weeks out today. I am down 16 lbs from the date of my surgery and 22.5 lbs total (2 week liquid diet). I like the sleeve so far. I think that the weight loss is hard to judge based on other people. There are many who have had the sleeve within days of me who have lost twice what I have. Don't let that be the…
  • I was sleeved 11/12/13. I am 3 weeks out today and at my 10 day post-op appointment I told my doctor the same thing. It has gotten much better. I think that it must just be about adjusting to the surgery. Something else that you may want to try is waiting a while between each bite. Sometimes I feel like I have a traffic…
  • I would not drink carbonated drinks. The very idea that it can stretch out my sleeve freaks me out. As far as protein I have found that the isopure premade drinks are easiest to get down. Good luck on your journey!
  • You guys were so right. I had a bad attitude from the beginning. This surprised me because I have never really been into the whole Thanksgiving food before. I am a picky eater and it seemed like a lot of weird food I wouldn't eat anyway. this time I got so caught up in the "can't have" instead of what the day was about. In…
  • Congrats! The one piece of advice I want to give is to bring chapstick. It will help when you are not able to have anything to drink that first day.
  • I know what you mean. It is so easy to give encouraging words to other people but when it comes to yourself its hard to get past that negative self talk. I was just telling my husband that I was worried that my last hope (the surgery) wouldn't work. I know it's hard (don't feel like you can't vent). The best thing for me…
  • I sleeved 11/12/13 and I have my days where my scale tells me that I am a half pound heavier. There are so many reasons why your weight can be going up and down. The thing that you need to keep in mind is that if you are following the diet and doing everything that your doctor has recommended then you will lose weight. I…
  • That is exactly what was wrong. I had a turkey sausage patty and I am so used to absorbing all of the grease with a paper towel and eating it like that. I don't think I will be having that by itself again.
  • Yeah. I knew that it would be a life style change but it seems all consuming! Its all I think about all day! I cannot wait for it to become second nature. It does doesn't it???
  • When I attended the class before my surgery we were told that there is a correlation between people who do not follow the 30/30 rule and people who gain weight back. I am 2 weeks out from my surgery today and it can be hard to follow. My lunch felt a bit stuck and I had to drink. Ugh! I'm sure it will get easier. I do not…
