  • We fortify foods with 2 or 3 nutrients... and there's TONS of evidence that shows that, for example, folic acid in food is almost ineffective and borderline harmful compared to eating food that naturally has folate in it. Here's a bunch of resources on the topic if anyone is interested in researching it!…
  • "food toxins and malnutrition [are both] well attested as causes of obesity in animals: The easiest way to induce obesity in animals is to feed them a carb toxin and a fat toxin – e.g. wheat, fructose, or alcohol with polyunsaturated fats or hydrogenated trans-fats. Obesity in animals can also be induced by nutrient…
  • Malnourishment is lack of nutrients, not lack of food. You could eat white bread all day every day and be quite malnourished. :)
  • take to pinterest!
  • I've been wanting to try this recipe... http://juliasalbum.com/2013/03/stuffed-sweet-potatoes-for-breakfast/ I made something similar for Christmas morning with delicata squash (which I was overrun with from my winter CSA) but I think a well-seasoned sweet potato would be better! By the way, if anyone wants to share recipe…
  • Hey Jane - sorry for the super late response, but in terms of calories I would suggest going through this process: 1. eat for a day 2. at the end of the day, track what you ate 3. do that a few times in a row 4. take your average calorie intact, subtract 100, set your macros (50% fat, minimum of 100g carbs), and go! And…
  • Hiiii!! Yes the group is moderately active but there's not a lot of posting... I think a lot of us use it to find friends and interact in our news feeds more than anything else. Imma friend you!
  • Fiber is good for you because it turns into short chain fatty acids in your gut. Skip the gross tasting food and have some coconut oil instead! :)
  • The best thing for me was to stop believing that it was just calories in calories out... my diet of 1000-1200 calories was causing weight gain. exhibit A: http://youtu.be/mNYlIcXynwE
  • This is a quote from Paul Jaminet of ThePerfectHealthDiet: "You definitely want to deal with any infections, as infections can be a big factor in gallbladder disease. I know of someone who was going to have surgery to have her gallbladder removed, but happened to go on antibiotics a few days before surgery. In three days…
  • You can spur ketosis in shorter spans while still eating a safer amount of carbs every day (100g or so)... you would have a lot more energy that way. see: http://perfecthealthdiet.com/2011/02/ketogenic-diets-i-ways-to-make-a-diet-ketogenic/
  • lol or just say "yeah I agree" and keep doing it anyway! ;)
  • Agree with others... sometimes people are jealous (or nervous you'll be thinner, etc) without even realizing it... they don't always mean harm but just ignore them. I've had similar #s to you and told "you look fine!!" but if it's not THEIR goals you're trying to reach, it's YOURS!!! If you're comfortable, tell them how…
  • find a primal/paleo forum and ask there, you'll get thoughtful responses :)
  • the p90x core and ab routines are killer. I love the core workout.
  • this muscle is ripped too
  • absolutely. we get too much for free these days and it doesn't let us really appreciate things!
  • Now the #pad doesn't show up to enter your pin on the nexus 4, but it does appear on the Nexus 10 - it switched! It does still come up when you tap the screen so it's not horrible, but it did stop working as it used it.
  • http://perfecthealthdiet.com/2012/01/is-it-good-to-eat-sugar/ and http://perfecthealthdiet.com/category/toxins-and-toxicity/fructose/
  • there's a huge difference between fructose and glucose. The sugar in fruit is treated very differently in your body and isn't as bad for you as pure sugar because it comes with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and other nutrients. My suggestion (besides doing some googling and reading about it) is to have 2 servings or so of…
  • I just want to put it out there that it's super common to gain a lot of the weight lost on phentermine back once you go off it. Not only does this lead to an endless phentermine cycle, but it becomes less effective each time you go on it (or, the longer you are on it). So wanted to encourage you to look into, or commit to,…
  • I take most of these recommendations: http://perfecthealthdiet.com/recommended-supplements/ I've had a chronic electrolyte imbalance in my blood and following those recommendations have helped incredibly!
  • Me too! But potatoes/sweet potatoes, fruits, veggies, and white rice. Grains & legumes (and sugar) are gone and it's been working like a charm. best of luck whatever you decide! :drinker:
  • You look like an entirely different guy!! Awesome work! ps the beard suits you :)
  • My husband just quit it cold turkey... I snuck him some excedrine when he had bad headaches and he was drinking club soda with a little juice in it for the bubbles. I also bought him cherry pepsi chapstick... i don't know how much that helped but he liked it!
  • From what I read, there isn't a need to worry about your fiber intake. Your body changes fiber into short chain fatty acids, which you will eat more of naturally on Paleo anyway, and you'll be eating a lot of veggies so you should be fine. I took it right off my diary settings!
  • this! good idea!
  • same as others - did an app search and it was free and came up first, and i thought it was easy to use. simple as that!
  • Last one... Can't add quick add calories, says the item isn't in the database (nexus 10)
