Great job! You can definitely see a difference...your wife was right :)

Fellow teacher here...I'm 5'2.5 and currently weigh 124lbs...I lose at 1400-1500 calories easily. We do get a lot of steps in our days...no reason to go so low with your calories, be kinder to yourself :)
-
Follow the calorie goal MFP gives you...baby steps here. I have social anxiety and still can't walk into a gym alone...good news...you can walk laps around your house and use youtube exercise videos for free :) Start small...You can do this!!!
-
I agree with you...the lowest weight I've seen on the scale is the weight I identify as my true weight...even if tomorrow I'm 2lbs heavier because I had soy sauce tonight :D
-
Stick with it! The weight will drop...I go through periods of times where the scale doesn't budge, but I know my deficit is there and my activity level remains constant (fellow teacher and mom to young kids) and eventually the scale moves again :)

It's possible you're drinking more than you need? Considering this started with the "healthy drinking amount" if I read correctly. Maybe cut back a bit and see if it lessens. Also just as another data point...I will say if I have been retaining water for whatever reason...sore muscles, increase in drinking, high sodium…

Ok so for recipes...my go to's are: Skinnytaste.com Slenderkitchen.com Emilybites.com Pinterest...I search low calorie meals and browse sites These I rotate through frequently and cook most of my dinners from...they all have nutritional info listed to give you a ball park for each meal.

I have heard of diet bet, but not the other...I will look into it, seems like it could be a fun motivator...My opinion...if it helps motivate I'm all for it :)
-
You mean calorie deficit, calorie deficit, or calorie deficit? They all will work if you stick to their calorie deficit. I am seeing great results using slim fast coupled with a gum graft...it's amazing how much weight you lose when you literally can't eat solids due to oral surgery :D

Born and raised in Louisiana myself...Welcome back! Keep up the hard work...you're doing great :)

Have you lost weight on 1900?....if yes, then it's just fine. I'm 125lbs and could still lose on 1900...it seems like a lot because we've been programmed by the media to think of weight loss occurring only if we are eating really low numbers or salads 3 meals a day. Try it and see if it works for you, but I don't see why…

When life gets hard...I simply give myself grace...an off time...I'll eat at maintenance...or skip a workout for resting etc. It passes and I move forward again. I don't have much to lose now, but I followed this same method while I was losing the 20+ lbs....give yourself some time to deal with things and come back…
-
I do it for a boost too ;) Maybe I'm kidding myself...but I put more stock in over all trends regardless...I just like seeing that "much lower" reference point because I know it's possible to get there :)

As a recovered anorexic I will say that your thinking is getting scary. I started the same way and had a lot of those same fears/food thoughts. You may need help to overcome this (NOT from the internet). As far as metabolic damage goes...I think you will be fine...I ate 600 calories a day or less for years. My metabolism…

I have weeks long stalls regularly and then I wake up one morning and weight is down a few lbs...it's very frustrating and can be discouraging, but please don't give up. You'll be rewarded for your efforts...I know any time I start a new exercise I can expect to see a stall for a few weeks until my body realises I'm not…

I only talked about it with people I'm very close too, but after a 23lb drop on my frame it was noticeable and colleagues started questioning the "how to do it". Once I explained counting calories, it bored everyone back into other local gossip. I made a mistake of expressing wanting to drop another 10lbs and of course the…

I feel so accomplished reading all 202pgs! I don't even have an unpopular opinion to add, so now what to read? Are we planning on starting another chaptered thread soon...perhaps a sequel?...I must know how cake culture and chili wars end :D

Well I fasted for years....I was anorexic. Obviously you are not coming from that place, but physically there was a certain "high" or "physical lightness" that came from not eating. I'm a very spiritual person and some days I felt like it was deep meditation (this may be why others you know who have done it, enjoyed it or…

Yep I drink pretty regularly. I've lost all but the last miserable 3lbs of baby weight I have to go...so it can be done. I just made it fit. I drink in the evenings, I measure it out and log it. I don't eat breakfast, and lunch typically comes in around 300-400 calories...dinners typically 400-600 and I average 12,000 to…

Hmm...yeah I have them on the side of my hips and a few around my bellybutton....oh well. I still think I look pretty good and I'm sure you do too, don't let it get you down :D

I didn't read the article...not yet at least. As a former anorexic, who has suffered everlasting bone density and heart issue from my disorder, I just wonder, did this person think about food day in and day out? Was it a compulsion? Did this dramatically affect her daily life in any way? If no...then my B.S. in Psych says…

This was really informative...thanks for sharing!

I always lose it last in my midsection...I consider it my remaining problem area
-
I do not hold the answer you are looking for, because I have yet to obtain flat stomach perfection myself :D Just wanted to say your transformation is amazing. Are you doing any strength training at the moment?
-
Welcome! Stick to a deficit that is manageable...that may be 2lbs a week or it may be less than that. Find a calorie deficit that works for you...don't worry about "fast"....time is going to pass regardless :) Is your goal weight a weight you've been before? Is this something maintainable (I ask because I'm 5'2 and my goal…

You've already lost a great amount, congrats to that!! Honestly 1 day won't matter in the long run, and you didn't even go over by a lot...so it's fine. As far as vacation goes? How often do you go on this vacation? If this is a once a year trip I say go and enjoy every minute with your family. Make sensible choices if you…
