  • In a nutshell- that sucks and I know how derailing it can be. Find an activity that you enjoy and relaxes you. I walk the dogs every night- no one else is allowed (from the family, I have a couple of friends who join me) this allows me to de-stress. Roller skating, an aerobics class- something social may be perfect for…
  • love trivia nights: History: local, american, European etc. - local history seems to always be a good one Music: classic, current art: can structure these to be easy ie: who painted Mona Lisa or tricky such as who does the Mona Lisa represent Movies/TV-go far back to charlie Chaplin and ask current questions like from the…
  • add a veggie in most everything you eat - the taste can be masked most of the time. IE: Pizza-fresh tomatoes, salads can be made with everything, mushrooms chopped up into meatloaf, carrots, celery and onions are great bases with a lot of meals from spaghetti sauce to roasts. My kids favorites are : carrots with ranch…

  • right now my favorite snack is laughing cow sundried tomato cheese wedge. I also enjoy a hot cup of green tea- I have to stay away from sweets as snacks because one bite is never enough.

  • Sounds like we are in the same boat..kind of. I quit smoking in November an d weight just piled on. I exercise a little-not as often as you but at least 3-5 times a week. • I found the new thread and now bookmarking it. I am a 5'4" (with shoes on:smile: ) Up until November when I quit smoking I always hovered between 115-120. This is great motivation for me to get into better shape than before. Thanks for starting it!!
  • Today is the day... I made it past my goal to 133lbs. I think the secret for me has been at least 30 minutes of activity daily, watching sugar and protein intake and most importantly-not eating right before bed. How is everyone else doing?
  • I vote new thread as well also wanted to say Facebook is a great idea!
  • Have tried both and have to say tempurpedic won in my house. I think it is really just preference. The first couple weeks I did hate it though. But my husbands back no longer gives out and we even spent the money for tempurpedic for the kids. Well worth it. One tip if you get it: rotate it every year or so, we rotate it at…

  • I have the same issue with fish, have never liked it ... until I tried fresh sea bass right out of the water. If fish is fresh then there is no fishy smell. I like Mahi Mahi and just recently tried fresh tuna and cod. Good luck-Alton Brown and Bobby Flay on Food Network have great recipes for fish. Sheri

  • Lauren, thanks for the nutritional advice. I have done an inventory of my pantry and realize how easy it will be for me to replace some things with healthier choices over time, the rice we use, even simple tomato sauces. Anyway this week I was doing great, then my mother came to stay with me and we have been eating out way…
  • Popular Challenge and sounds like a lot of fun. Count me in-will post my goals tomorrow. QUOTE: Question of the Day: How are you planning to lose the weight to meet your challenge goal? Plan to simply get up and move through out the day, no eating close to bedtime, and smaller portions throughout the day. Sheri Jo
