Thanks for replying! So from what I understood, it's normal to eat a lot when bulking right? Without going completely overboard and losing track of what you eat, I assume. And will I get greater benefits from keeping my fat intake low?
-
Do you mean that in a good or a bad way?
-
I could do 250-500 surplus per day. Does it have to be a "clean" bulk, and what are the benefits of it?

I have done Insanity twice: first I did it back in 2012, for two months. It was indeed the hardest workout I had ever done, but I did it without making any changes in my eating habits at all. Still, results were noticeable, and I lost about 14 pounds in 2 months. I wondered what kind of black sorscery it was :) As I said,…

I heard about Insanity and wanted to try it out. Found out the price and resorted to the internet instead (yes, piracy). I downloaded all of the workouts. Now, I can say that Insanity has given me (as advertised) "the best body I could get". I'm grateful with the results and all... There is no denying the results. But…

People like to be condescending around here sometimes, it makes them feel like they're smarter. So I'm not gonna do that. Protein shake is just food. It is used to meet your body's daily protein requirements, when food doesn't do the job, for example. One serving is higher in protein than most foods. Also, it fills you up…

Amazing, man! Congratulations! One question: when did you start losing chest fat (aka manboobs)? THEY JUST WON'T GO.
-
YEAH SUCK IT DOC!

I don't buy it. This is exactly what I would be looking for if I had, say, fallen off the wagon. Of course, I'm not obese. I'm just slightly overweight and I'm trying to lose weight mainly for "aesthetic" reasons. I'm not saying you or anyone else should beat themselves up, but sometimes the lack of discipline and…

I'd pay to see a man's face when he eats a Double Quarter Pounder after two years of not doing it :D
-
I don't believe in "garbage" food though... It's all just food, some have more nutrients, some have less. You're only torturing yourself if you don't treat yourself once in a while.
-
Because when I eat fried chicken, I eat 15-20 of 'em :) And the McNuggets come in 10s, and I'm full after eating them.
-
Exactly.
-
Well yeah, and it's just an apple, no big deal. I just hope this helps me get a good sleep!
-
Thanks to everyone for responding! It's really hard to keep it healthy in situations like this, but at least I tried! The dessert is awful here, so there are little to no temptations in that department :) I've been drinking mainly water and diet coke. Whenever they see you without a drink, they give you one almost…

Well yeah, probably over 3000 (my TDEE), but definitely below 4000-5000. I only really eat a lot during breakfast, as I said, and I only drink water and diet Coke.
-
I just recently started dieting, and discovered Greek yoghurt for the first time, AND I LOVE THAT CRAP.
-
No such thing as "kick starting" your metabolism.

Oh, done. I spent all of January on a deficit of what turned out to be 2000 calories (TWO THOUSAND). I know, unhealthy, dangerous, insane. I tried to do it on my own, was clearly misinformed and although I lost 14Lbs, it stopped right there. About two weeks after realizing I my weight loss stalled, I upped my intake to…
-
I'm at 1000cal deficit because I'm really nearing my goal and it's getting harder every time obviously. I'm at a stage where my metabolism is adjusting easily to my every move and I kinda hoped cycling would fix that, help me confuse my metabolism a bit. I'm almost there anyways. I've been stuck on 174Lbs for 2-3 weeks…

I think that's the while idea behind "If It Fits Your Macros" (I guess it's a thing now). I've heard it works, I do that from time to time, but it's certainly not good to abuse it. Of course, you need to distribute your daily intakes of protein, carbs and fat, and if you eat a whole Ultra Triple Xtreme Whopper, that's 80%…

Well this clears things up. I wouldn't mind preserving muscle while I lose fat, so lifting it is.
-
I was shocked when I saw that Diet Coke actually has ZERO calories. Still... I don't buy it. There's gotta be something wrong with it
-
I just recently had to increase my caloric intake, and had to set it up myself, unlike the first month when the app set it all up for me. So I set the "green number" to 2200 and hope to reach zero everyday right?
-
I see most days you Netted 500 calories below your goal... how much did you lose?
-
I take whey to meet my protein requirements, two scoops a day, which I hope is enough (plus the protein I get from food).
-
It is correct, according to three different calculators. I will try eating 2100 daily for a week, see how that goes. If it's not working I'll pick it up a bit, I'm in no rush. Thanks!
-
Ok, didn't realize 1000 Net out of the daily 2000 was too low. I haven't quite experienced any problems yet, so I think (luckily) I found out about it soon enough. The online calculator someone cited says my BMR and TDEE are (rounding up) around 2000 and 3000 calories respectively. Since I clearly need to start from…
