  • Thank you! You've already accomplished so much yourself and you should definitely be proud of that! You're 100% correct, the fact that you're paying attention and noticing those 6 pounds means you have no intentions of allowing it to keep increasing and that's the biggest thing, just keep going. There have been times where…
  • Thank YOU for sharing, it is just as encouraging for me! I'm not usually one to post pictures or share but these kinds of posts helped me see that it was possible when I needed it so I wanted to add to them.
  • Thank you! At the very beginning, I started walking, just regular walking every once in a while. I didn't walk for very long or very far but I just did what I could. As far as dieting, at first I really just ate "normal foods" and stopped with the daily fast food and sweet tea (this was huge for me because it was 300…
  • Well, a little over two years later and it's taking a bit longer than I planned but it's still happening! Another 80 pounds down. I'm sitting at 276 currently. I'm about 26 pounds from my original "ultimate" goal weight but I'll reevaluate once I hit it. I just thought I'd post a progress pic!
  • I've been on the keto diet lately and have lost around 40 pounds doing it but it's also in conjunction with controlling my caloric intake. I just noticed more consistent, higher weight loss on keto but that's just me. I'm not doing it it forever but I am doing my own kind of cyclical keto (carb meal a week) until I hit my…
  • I just recently started incorporating "carb days" which usually just ends up being one carb meal but I allow one day to eat carbs just because I enjoy certain foods (tacos, chipotle, fries, wings) that have carbs and if there's no reason to give them up, I won't. I have more success sticking to diets in general when I know…
  • Went to the doctor yesterday and my doctor asked me how the heck I lost so much weight, surgery? I was like nope, just calories and dieting! Boom!
  • Damn. A 2 month old horse and an average two year old.
  • Same here!
  • ^ugh. It's ok though because how bout them Cowboys? ;) Mavs fan here, MFFL! We are rebuilding (kind of?) so it's been tough but that's my team! Enjoying watching Dirk play out his last year or two.
  • I do this but I don't buy them to where they completely don't fit, I buy like a size or so smaller so they're kind of tight or not so comfortable. This serves as a reminder to keep at it, a goal, a reward once they start to finally fit comfortably and then obviously a reminder of the progress. Like stated above, big…
  • Of course, technically you can eat whatever you want if it fits under your calorie goal. I eat pretty much what I want as long as it fits. Obviously you can't do it all day every day or it won't fit but you can make it work.
  • I've been off and on Keto for a couple months and life is much better ON. I went back to a regular diet for a couple and found that aside from occasionally (chipotle bowl, chips with queso...etc), I didn't even crave or enjoy carbs as much as I thought I did. The progress has been much more efficient on keto, plus the food…
  • Yup! I was on keto for 3-4 weeks. Loved it, was dropping weight faster than normal calorie deficit but then I ate carbs and gained some back. It was discouraging so I went back to just counting calories but I missed the food and missed the progress so I've been back on for about a week and I don't know if I'll ever go back…
  • Found an old Dallas Mavericks shirt I got free at game a couple years ago (got the biggest size they had, 3x) that wasn't even close fitting me. I tried it on and it fits perfectly now! Had to buy a new belt Jeans I bought a year ago won't stay on without a belt, I'm now down two sizes. Measurements from Men's Warehouse…
  • I'm in! Feel free to add.
  • Thanks, everyone, much appreciated!
  • Thanks! For sure, I've been taking more pictures of the past couple months to have for that reason!
  • Being in two weddings in October/November... :|
  • Thanks! Definitely rewarding and motivating at the same time. All I need to do is look at old pictures.
  • You definitely will! I think it's much more rewarding knowing you put in the work to do it.
  • Thanks guys, I appreciate it!
  • Eat like I do during the week....on the weekends. I kill it during the week because there is structure (get up, workout, work, home, chill, sleep, repeat). On the weekends, there is no structure or schedule. I also tend to feel like the weekends are for cheating but I would probably have lost another 15-20 pounds if I had…
  • Yeah it is definitely not perfect. I have the Charge HR too. I don't need mine to be crazy accurate because I usually don't "eat back the exercise" so I like to just get a ballpark number of how many calories I burn. I think it inflates the numbers a lot but it has worked for me. It depends on what you expect from it.
  • The last part about the free food. That is a rough one and I have the same problem! People at work will buy food and bring it to me or leave it in the break room or something like that. Some of time, I just don't want to be rude so I replace what I was going to eat with that and it's always way more calories. Then at home,…
  • For someone who wasn't very active, it really helped me get more active but now I really only use the HR part of it for my workouts for the stats. I also love the Fitbit app dashboard that lets you set all of your goals and it shows your progress throughout the day. Great way to hold yourself accountable and have your…
  • I say yes and if they ask more about it, I'll go in to more detail but I'm proud of it and don't have a problem at all. Although, I don't really get the question, they just say "Dang you've lost weight" and I say "Yep, I'm working on it".
