Some folks get so overwhelmed with the concept of losing weight and general fitness that they don't know where or how to start. C25K gives them that starting point.

I have no advice but I'm so sorry for your loss.

Man, I can't wait to go apple picking with my kids. My DS8 loves to help peel/core the apples, he eats the peel as it come off. I use the sweetest apples so I don't have to add sugar. I love that he loves it!

Cookie dough, smores, oreo, pb supreme and vanilla almond are my go-to bars. Friggin' EXPENSIVE but total deliciousness!

Just saw this thread for the first time and thought "that's me!" Just signed up with a local running club (extremely excited) and started SL 5x5 last month. Progression is slow going for a couple of reasons but I keep trying! Feel free to add me! Any group suggestions are welcome too.

I think "skinny fat" is where I am as well :( I want desperately to lose the spare tire around my hips. I have the mommy belly hang as part of that. I'm doing Stronglifts right now but may not be able to progress if I can't find a gym that's affordable since I have limited free weight equipment and safety is an issue. Wish…

I agree with most of the other posters, get fitted for a running shoe and have the store analyze your gait as well. I LOVED C25K, it changed my life! Now I always start my runs with a five minute walk and that help prevent my shin splints. While injures are more likely during running than just walking (can't the same be…

Yup, walk for 5 min to warm up and 5 to cool down. I loved C25K and my DH and kids will be starting it this spring!

Mmmmm, Auntie Anne's.....nom nom nom

First thing in the morning is best for me. It sets the tone for my day. I may have a few sips of water before I head out but that's about it. I save breakfast for after my run.

x2....though now I'm gonna try MC's Juno. High neckline to keep the girls down, thicker straps that don't move. Pricy, but totally worth it to keep my 32 Ds from bouncing all over the place.

Great job! I started running last March and C25K, along with daily walks with a friend, counting calories and getting into lifting, has helped me lose nearly 30 lbs! I couldn't even run the mile in HS, but now I'm only 4 sessions away from completing Bridge to 10K. I fell in love with running and my husband loves what it's…

Join a running club Run as many 5/10k's as possible Clean up my diet more (the hardest goal for me) Build myself a better butt lol

Love, love, love Russian twists, pec flys, heavy squats and donkey kicks. Love to hate elbow planks (on 1:50 this week) cuz they're crazy hard but have really changed my body. Hate push ups cuz they make me feel like a weakling. I will say upper body is my favorite day while I dread core day due to planks lol. Oh and…

I walk 1 1\2 hours with a friend every weekday. I try to get in a run every other day. I lift just about every day, alternating between upper, lower and core. I do a lot of cardio but I just started running last March and love it, and walking with my friend is what got me started on losing weight and getting in shape. I…

To echo most of the PPs, you just need to get out there and try it. I've only been running since March and I find that folks really don't care. Other runners say good morning or even just give a simple nod. Put the earbuds in and get lost in your workout!

That is AWESOME!!!! I'm still only 11:42 as my fastest mile but I'm working on it. You should be very proud!

Ooh, Craig Morgan! International Harvester and Redneck Yacht Club! I 2nd JaneDear Girls, esp Merry Go Round!

I usually do Pandora's Power Hip Hop Workout since it's mostly upbeat. Can't seem to find a good workout country station on I Heart Radio, otherwise that's what I'd be jamming to.

I run to pretty much anything, including slow songs, but I do love that Miranda/Carrie duet Somethin Bad! Anything Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line. When RF's Stand comes on, it really kicks me into high gear. Very motivating. I'll run to just about anything lol, ran to old school Alanis Morrisette this morning!

Sports bras offer MORE coverage. They are fitness clothing. I said in a PP, even t-shirts were considered undergarments decades ago. The only thing that matters is comfort level. I wear tankinis with skirted bottoms to swim because I'm not comfortable in a bikini. Those who ARE comfortable, rock on....

Sorry, I did seem all over the place in my OP. I guess I just wanted to give as much info as possible. I'm reading that working smaller muscles alone isn't enough, that you have to work small muscle groups WITH the larger ones, hence the squat press (squat down, then OHP on the way back up). There's so much conflicting…

If I'm working out at home, I use it as an undergarment till I get too hot then I throw off the shirt. If I'm out jogging (which is usually early morning), I always wear a wicking shirt. Between not being comfortable baring my midriff yet and running in the very small town I grew up in, around folks who've known me since I…

Yup! I love my Asics!!! Totally suggest a running store to find the best fit for you. They'll analyse your gait and get ya fitted! Ouote] Do you have a runner's store nearby? I just bought Asics and am a huge fan. I'm not a fan of Nike's, in all of my life I've had one good pair of Nike's and I spent a lot of money on that…

Up at 5am, get my running gear on and warm up with some dynamic stretches before hitting the road for 5:30. I like it to be a light light out for safety but the sun not being totally up yet. I don't eat or drink until after. I usually just listen to my Pop/Hip Hop Workout station on Pandora. Anything up tempo.

Did a cardio workout DVD I've been working on the last few months (alternating with my running days)...normally by the last move in the final segment (lots of twists and jumps) I'm dripping in sweat and telling myself "only 30 more seconds, just need to get through 30 more seconds!!" Today by the end, I'm shocked that it's…

I'm 5'4" and 37. My original goal weight was 120 (heaviest was 143, I was always thin till the last five years). I'm currently 120.5 but have re-evaluated my goals. I've been lifting (dumbbells, mind you, because that's all that available to me right now) for a couple months and really wanna see some definition.

I just finished C25K last week. I'm signed up for my first 5K in early October and my time so far is 42 minutes and change. My plan is sprint intervals at our local track to increase my speed a little.
-
Officially graduated this morning! Now I just have to figure out if I wanna take it to the track for some Sprint work or try B210K. My first 5k isn't till early October so I have time to work on stuff.

Bump... ETA: yay, found it on Pinterest!
