  • This...this is what I'm looking forward to! Awesome job!!!
  • My NSV was tonight!!! Needed a casual outfit for my mom's retirement brunch tomorrow and I literally had no clothes beyond tees and workout gear that actually fit me. Went shopping and fit into a SMALL knit top (the 34D's haven't been in a small top in years) and the dressy shorts were a 6!!!! I tried on a 8 first and they…
  • Based on the stats my app gives me, I go about 2.8 miles in each 30 min session. It says my projected 5k is approx 42 min, I avg about 13 min and change per mile. Mind you, that does include 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down (though I have been running toward home during the cool down then doing me stretching), so I…
  • A healthy cheesecake? Red velvet pancakes? Dude, I'm adding you too!
  • W8D1...have to keep working on my breathing, but other than that I'm getting through! Included my hill again but the second lap of it I really had to focus. Can't believe I have only 5 sessions left before I graduate!
  • I listen to music when I run, and EVERY time I hear either "Stand" by Rascal Flatts or "Brave" by Sara Borelis, it reminds me how far I.'ve come in a mere 7 weeks and motivates me to push myself a little more. I ran 28 minutes straight today! Huge accomplishment for someone like me, and soon that'll be YOU!
  • W7D3 (didn't check in on D2 cuz it totally sucked)...focused on my breathing much more today. I found info about belly breathing on Pinterest so I'm working on getting that right. I finally decided to conquer the small hill in my neighborhood (very slow but I did it!) and it's nice to have some new scenery. Couple more…
  • W7D1....not the best run, not the worst. Need to go to Fleet Feet to have my gait analysed and ask for proper breathing tips, I don't know how to not do chest breathing. Speed is increasing and I can push myself a little more to get through the slight inclines, but regulating my breathing has probably been my biggest…
  • I was holding off on doing this till I had the right gear, but then I was walking one afternoon when it started to rain. So I had to jog home! Don't let the rain stop you!!!
  • This is totally me! I've never been athletic, could never run that presidential fitness one-mile test in HS and could barely jog more than 30 seconds when I started this program. Today was W6D3 for me, feel like my pace is getting better, I'm a little faster on the slight inclines in my neighborhood, but still not ready to…
  • That's awesome! WTG!!!
  • W6D2 in the bag, hard to believe how quickly these weeks are going by! LOVE running first thing in the morning, really sets the tone for the day. Ran through the cool down and just stretched when I got back home.
  • Yesterday was W6D1, I think I prefer the 21-min run lol....went back to my normal route, since the reverse is too hard on my knees (I'd rather struggle a little going on an incline than hurting my knees trying to take it easy downhill). Looking forward to tomorrow's run.
  • Thanks : )
  • I did it! W5D3...21 min straight!!!! I couldn't do 30 sec when I started this program! I ran home during my cool down....feel like a freakin rock star!!! Thanks to everyone who gave me encouragement!!!!!!
  • W5D2...not a great run. I kept thinking how Wed is D3 and then I tripped again because I allowed myself to get distracted (unzipping my hoodie). While I caught myself, it kinda knocks your confidence down. I was also dog tired from my busy weekend but determined to run this morning....it's just too nice out and everyone's…
  • I have to tell you, your post is very inspiring! My W5D3 is this Wednesday and I'm really nervous. I've only had one bad run so far this program, but I'm also the girl who had to walk most of the mile run you had to do in HS. So every time I complete a session, I feel like a friggin rock star. Felt the same way after doing…
  • I'm on Wk5 of C25K, but before I made the decision to start I started out walking. While you are waiting to afford a good pair of runners (it's only two weeks away), try walking as a way of conditioning your body. I walked for a few months before getting up the courage to start C25K. Walking will keep you active and…
  • Runtastic... I can log walking, running, other workouts. I've only used it a handful of times so far since I'm still doing C25K and don't know if I can run both at once.
  • What if MFP sets you at 1200, tho? Before I started reading the forums, I just used the app and it set me at 1200 calls, which is the lowest we should go before your metabolism gets messed up right? If I don't eat back my exercise cals, that puts me at less than 1200. But then I see a lot of folks only eating back half?…
  • Thanks for the link! I will have to remember to keep the volume down a little to keep me aware of my surroundings... I tend to hear a good song and turn it up. Not good safety-wise or for the ear drums!
  • This morning was W5D1... I do a light jog, only about 2.9mph normally because I know speed will comes when I'm ready. I've come to the conclusion that as long as I have good tunes, I can make it through the run intervals pretty easy and without praying for the walk cues. I was actually disappointed when the session was…
  • Started T25 today, Day 1 Alpha Cardio... I attempted most of the high impact moves, then switched to Tania if I couldn't keep up. Sometimes I just did what I myself could do, which was somewhere between the two. As I became more comfortable with the moves, I upped my intensity. LOVE the front-center-back-center-side-side…
  • Catching myself would have been better had I not tripped on the sidewalk by our main road lol... I tried not to think too hard about the cars who might've seen me stumble and make a fool of myself! I'm truly surprised I haven't done it before this; I'm a huge klutz!
  • This thread got me trying Quest Bars lol! Now I think I'm addicted... Cookies n Cream...nuked as suggested and really enjoyed it. 9/10 Vanilla Almond Crunch...LOVE almonds, was very happy it was real almonds and not just favouring. This is probably my fave so far 10/10 Cookie Dough...yum! I can see why they can't keep them…
  • W4D3...reversed my route today so I wouldn't get bored. Felt pretty good to me. Actually was disappointed when I heard the "walk" cues (esp if a good song was on). Tripped for the first time since I started this whole thing lol but I got my footing before I fell to the ground. Both nervous and excited about starting W5 on…
  • W4D2 done! Not as bad as W4D1 was for me. My app paused on me a couple times, once at the start of a 5 min run interval, once during a walk (my app interrupts my playlist but plays over radio music so I don't always hear it well). No big deal, just made the session longer once I resumed it. Obviously straightaways and…
  • I chose 120 because that's about what I weighed before I had my first child. But as I lose the weight, I realize what I really want is for my body to be a certain way. I wanna lose what I gained around my middle and slowly its coming off. I'm 5'4" and 37 years old and small framed so I may be able to go a little lower on…
  • Thank you for this...there's just so much to remember and consider. I really want to be able to do a Color Run next year with a couple friends so I'm motivated! I do enjoy being out there...
