Yes, except that 16 fl oz of water weighs almost exactly 16 oz. Water is one of the liquids that translates neatly to weight. So as long as people aren't filling their bottles up with corn syrup or heavy cream, this will be almost perfectly accurate.

IN for awesome motivation!! This thread never fails to make me feel inspired. From before the roll...... Started at 175 -- weighed in at 150.2 this morning. Not the biggest change in the world but I feel so much better in my body : ) Full disclosure: "Before" photos taken in the early evening, "After" photos taken first…

Thanks! It was sooooo delicious, I couldn't wait to eat it -- not even long enough to get a plate. Mmmm.

Ultimately, this doesn't seem like a question of weight and rather a question of health. Do you feel well? Are you happy with the way you feel physically? Does your physical health make logical sense to you? It sounds like the answer to these questions is a resounding no. What I think would be the best course of action…

Had avocado smashed on sourdough toast this morning with flaky salt & olive oil. Ugh. So good. I wish I could eat this for every single meal. Dinner at work last night was pan roasted asparagus with shallots, jasmine rice w/ basil & green onion (grown on my fire escape!), cherries, and greenmarket strawberries with sour…

On my run tonight, I ended it by running for about 5 minutes in just a sports bra & shorts : ) I felt VICTORIOUS!!! I never thought I'd feel comfortable without a shirt on : )

Breakfast in bed this morning was soft scrambled eggs with hot sopressata, peas, pecorino, and basil from my fire escape garden. Yummy.

Thank you all for your responses -- I've been so happy reading each one!! It means a lot to see that people appreciate and identify with my story so far : ) I'll have to get to work on some of the pasta recipes..... ; )

Thank you all so much!!! I'm choked up as I read your responses. It means a lot : ) I know my 20 pound loss isn't huge, and I've gone about it very slowly, but it's been such a big revelation for me to realize that eating in a way that allows me to lose weight doesn't mean being unhappy -- it just means taking in less…

Puy lentils in mustard shallot vinaigrette with carrot & asparagus, basil, thyme. Poached egg on top. Also St Marcellin cheese w/ raspberries and ciabatta. Yummy dinner : )

Dinner tonight at my very favorite restaurant in NYC. This was -- charred onions in some kind of creamy rich sauce and seeds, a whole fish that had been fried then marinated (served at room temp -- there are very very few restaurants at which I would order room temperature fish!!) and peas and carrots in orange honey milk.…

Dinner last night was a giant steak seared quickly in a hot hot cast iron pan. When it was resting, let some sweet onions cook down, then added long strips of mushroom. Cooked all that until it was slack and soft, then added a glug of wine and some stock and let it reduce -- parsley and lemon juice -- lots of pepper --…

Graduated about 6 weeks ago, ran my first ever 5k a month ago, then STOPPED running to let a stress fracture heal. Today was my first run in about 4 weeks. I was really nervous that I would've lost all my progress. I decided to drop all the way back to W5D2, 8r/5w/8r. The first 8 felt great, the break felt indulgent, then…

Recovery can be complex, confusing, hard. If you don't feel like the nutritionist you're currently seeing is qualified, I highly encourage you to seek out a different medical professional to work with. As for the eating regimen, I recommend you bring your questions and concerns to a doctor who specializes in ED recovery.…

Thank you!! I had really planned on walking at some point and it wasn't until I topped the final hill that I realized I was really going to go all the way. It was an amazing feeling. I'm so happy about the timing, too!! I've been hitting around 12 minutes for the past few weeks, so it makes sense that my average fell just…

I graduated! Sometime last week, I ran W9D3 : ) And this morning, I ran my very first 5k race ever. It was a super hilly course and I anticipated walking some but it didn't feel necessary at all. I ran just over 35 minutes, averaging 11:30/mile. I'm delighted. Next 5k in three weeks... : ) I just couldn't have done this…

While I graduated  over the weekend, I'm still running! I went a solid 30 earlier this week and an effortless 15 tonight. Wanted to keep going (despite some crazy cold wind) but I'm tapering off leading up to my first ever 5k on Sunday. I went up to the course over the weekend and, uh, there are some pretty…

Aw man! I twisted my ankle in a sidewalk pothole on W9D1 : ( It's so frustrating. How did you hurt yourself?

W9D3..... done : ) 30 minutes. 3.05 miles. Gorgeous day in NYC and I'm so happy! I DID IT!!!!

The bigger issue with GMO's and GE foods isn't necessarily how it impacts your body. There's research to show it might be harmful, and research to show it's perfectly safe. What GE foods do rather effectively is harm small farmers, promote globalization in ways that cause food insecurity for millions of people, and…

!!!!! My last run was crappy and before that I didn't run for almost a week bc of a cold/injury/snowstorm. Tonight I just wanted to get my full 30 minutes in. For the past few weeks, after 20 minutes I've been taking a couple minutes walking break to catch my breath. I was fine with it -- knew it wasn't ideal but preferred…
