I also love Jessica Smith tv on youtube. I have done most of her workouts and really enjoy the complex movements. its rare that a part of you body is just sitting around waiting for something to do. I also really like the Pilates Perfect Body produced by the 10 minutes solution. and anything Jillian Michaels if…

Y'all are funny..I appreciate the thread being bumped since some guy quickly posted about oatmeal and my thread fell off the radar. :-)

i agree with everyone on food but you could also try Pilates which is similar to yoga but, in my opinion, easier on the jounts. its lower impact than running and lifting so i tend not to eat as much and it uses your body weight so you still get resistance training.
YES YES YES YES!! My kids (3yo and 1.5yo) steal my food and my husband laughs while I sulk. I logged it and now I'm going to starve!
i have 3 kids (5,3, and 1.5) and they steal my food but most of the time i am secretly happy that i have now eaten less calories then i logged. but i am always hungry!!

i have also found that it helps to have a friend (mine is on MFP) that you can msg daily and encourage each other to make healthy choices or give a shout out to when you're having a rough temptation day. It's helpful to have a connection with others with a similar goal. help you to not feel so alone. it also might help to…

this is true for me also. sometimes i get down on my shape and was known as the "girl with big legs" in school but i rarely get sprained ankles, can backpack with the best of them, and am pretty tough. Would i love to have a smaller bottom half? sometimes. I try to focus on making sure my legs are strong and not just big…

Trim Healthy Mama by Serene Allison and Pearl Barrett is a great book!! Ignore the "Mama" part of the title as it is good info for anyone. The authors researched over 20 diet plans and explain what food does in the body. helps to clarify food as a fuel source and your purpose in eating. you choose foods based on what your…

This is helpful information to have; that you were within a gram when measuring. It makes complete sense that not everything would need to be weighed vs measured. thank you!!

i back off and get stuck meaning that i stop logging and measuring most things. Thanks for the idea of starting with calorie dense foods. i obviously tend to think with an "all or nothing" mentality at times.

Thanks guys. I've been searching for years for something to replace squats. I was told I'd never run again and walk with a gimp. Neither have been true but that was 18 years ago. Now I have super bad arthritis in both knees. They blow up super easily and always hurt but I am still pretty active. I will def check with a…

Anybody? Can't find answers to these questions

I've been trying really hard to listen to my body. It seems the day after I exercise I am the most hungry. I try to eat foods that give me the most bang for my calorie buck and if regular calorie allotment isn't enough I add bf calories. So I don't feel guilty but thankful for them because i don't end the day in the red.…

I was looking for more info. Thanks!

5' 7" 164lbs calves 16.5". I am so self-conscious about them! I was always called "the girl with big legs" and now at 33 yo still have trouble just accepting them. I can say that I am so thankful they are strong, as are my ankles. I'm trying to focus on losing fat and gaining tone/definition.

May I post a question in this thread since it is related? What is the best way to reduce body fat percentage? I just had my 3rd baby 2 months ago. I am back to pre pregnancy weight but my goal weight is to lose another 7 lbs. according to a scale that measures weight and body fat i am at 31%. I would like to be between 22…

In the us we measure by cups or ounces rather than grams. There are 8 ounces in a cup or 16 tablespoons. Hope this helps. If not I would google a conversion chart. This is not a guesstimate measurement.

Amen! This is the harder part of losing weight. Hard because it generally takes longer to ask those questions rather than stay focused on the number on the scale and the feelings associated with it.

Is there a way to copy this op onto the recipe board? A lot of people will find it there that will appreciate it that may not see it otherwise. Thanks for the info.

] I was diagnosed with depression in Nov. 2012 and have been on medication since then. I'm actually thinking about changing doctors because I feel like all the medication did was stick me on a pretty much 100% neutral feeling towards everything, which, granted, is better than the horrible lows that I used to have... but I…

Thanks everyone. I am now monitoring fiber instead of sugar. I have been measuring my food but not weighing it so I think I'm gonna buy a food scale
