Yes, please!

Not impossible but you have to eat back some/all of your exercise calories. And, yes, you can lose 2 lbs/week eating your exercise calories.
-
the "a roni" = bits of macaroni/noodles/spaghetti

The 20 lbs by Christmas goal, at least the one I am thinking of, started with 15 or more weeks to go. This may have been hard but not unrealistic at 2lbs/week. Of course, now it would be unrealistic.

Me too. Actually, considerably reduced the simple carbs but I never pass up a complex carb! Never felt better! I must be one of the metabolically broken ones. And, did I say that I've never felt better?!
-
Just curious. Have you had your cholesterol or iron levels checked? If your numbers are good I don't see an issue.
-
It depends. Is it from natural sources? The sugar from an apple comes with fiber = good sugar. If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic you should be watching your carbs. I really don't know why people watch the sugar number. Your calorie total tells you if you can afford to spend some on high sugar foods. RE "macronutrients":…

I have a long, long way to go. My daily motivation has become those darned MFP targets! If I am at target calories and I'm hungry I go for walk so I can eat. Apparently, I like to chase these numbers. Who knew! Initially, my exercise goal was to hit 2000 minutes per week. Now I'm trying to get to 3000+ minutes/week. I…

I would if it lasts more than a week. So far, so good. I know that most gains are water weight for me because I haven't been exceeding my calorie goals. It takes an additional 3500 extra calories to gain 1 lb. If I know that I haven't gone over by, literally, thousands of calories, I know I'm good. Fluctuations are normal.

As someone who has been all the way up and down the scale, start by weighing yourself. That may be the inspiration you need. The last time I felt like you are now, I got on the scale and, to my astonishment, gained 30 lbs! And, my jeans still fit. I can't explain it either. That made me think of my grandmother, who weighed…

Welcome! My doc recently told me that it takes 7 tries to adopt a new behavior. New outlook for me because I felt like I failed in the past. So, our previous attempts have just brought us closer to making the behavior stick! Hoping this is the final attempt that sticks for all of us!

The last 10 are tough. I have no idea about the last 5 lbs because the last 10 has derailed me SO many times. Don't give up now! Something's got to give eventually!

I'd go with the Chili's, Applebee's route. Enjoy yourself! You seem to be very diligent. Allow yourself this one indulgence. Even if you go over your calories by 1000-1500 (which you probably won't) it won't make that much of a difference for your weekly progress. Remember that it takes 3500 extra calories to gain 1 pound.…

I've noticed some discrepancies as well (even scanning the bar codes). That seems to be why there are now multiple entries for the same food - highly frustrating. I wish there was a way to edit food that is in error. I'm chalking it up to margin of error. If it takes 3500 calories to gain/lose 1 pound that's 20-21 days…

I think your inner smarta@*s has to come out. The only thing that works with a bully is to push back. Maybe calling it bullying is a stretch but she's trying to belittle your choice. It works on your diet so keep doing it....perhaps every day when she's in the vicinity! Your successful weight loss will justify everything.…

I've been entering that number in my daily notes and I am and have been right on track. I have a long way to go but that number is a great motivator for me. A couple years ago there was a lot of talk about zigzag dieting. Meaning vary your calories and exercise. Essentially, keep your body guessing. It has been helpful to…

Wow! OP, you sure hit a nerve! I get what you are saying. I look at diaries for inspiration but have found little to inspire me! And, it has nothing to do with ice cream or cookies. We're a community. We are supposed to support each other, right? But, I think this is another one of those instances where it is best to stay…

Holy smokes! Awesome job! Thanks for posting and inspiring those of us who have a long, long way to go!

Definitely time to add a bit of exercise. Pushups and walking are free! I don't go to a gym either but I use the MFP exercise log to push myself toward 3000 minutes a week. I use 5 & 8 pound weights, walk, do exercise dvds and yoga Have you checked to see if exercise dvds are available at your local library? Youtube has…

I cook for a family of 5 most of the time. Not everyone is careful about their diet. Except for my vegetarian, we all eat the same food . I just watch my portions more carefully. I always offer more than one veg and don't cook carbs everyday. I eat more of the veg they eat more of the carbs. Sometimes we eat turkey or…

back on track!

Weight loss seems to be cumulative, just like gaining weight was.

Just make sure that you net 1240. If you eat (most or all of) your exercise calories (whole other can of worms) you should be fine! Feel it out and see what works for you.

Update since 9/18/12: CW: 250 10/21/12 GW: 233 Heel spur prohibits much walking but doing kettlebell dvds and rowing. Trying to hit 3000 min of exercise/week. Currently exercising 2000-2500 minute/wk.

As compared to what? Are you talking organic? Compared to eating out? Compared to packaged, prepared food? I bet that cooking at home with the best ingredients you can afford is a whole lot cheaper than any of these options. You CAN make yogurt if you had to. Nobody says that Chobani yogurt is the path to fitness. What are…
