  • If I understand your question correctly, I think that your confusion comes from being told that you need to burn more calories than you eat by doing exercise. You burn calories by being alive, even if you are sitting and doing nothing on the couch, or even sleeping. So you don't need to literally burn every calorie that…
  • Did you eat or drink anything before? You may just be pushing yourself really hard, or you need to eat/drink before a run.
  • I love these sweet potato veggie burgers. Can be made the day before or made and frozen until you want to cook them. I bake them rather than frying. I also skip the olive oil on the bun but keep the avocado and mustard. Yum! http://kblog.lunchboxbunch.com/2012/02/easy-sweet-potato-veggie-burgers-with.html?m=1
  • I second this! C25K got me from being the slowest kid in gym class to actually running for fun :)
  • When I first started running (I was doing a combination of walking and running at that point), my muscles would be extremely sore after a workout. There were many times that I thought I had injured myself, but I would take a day or two off and swim/do the elliptical instead, and the pain would subside. One thing that I…
  • Yup! And it's all natural so milk, cream, sugar, and natural flavor- no oils etc.
  • I'm really into Coffee Mate Natural Bliss in Cinnamon Cream flavor right now. Two tbsp in my coffee every morning. Worth the calories to me :)
  • I wouldn't drink hungry...at least for me it is never a good idea. You could log your alcohol and food and workout extra tomorrow to burn off whatever calories you went over your daily limit. I have done this in the past- logged workout calories from the day before or after drinking on the day that I actually drank, so I…
  • Shrimp is a really low calorie seafood that is super easy to cook. I buy them frozen and defrost in water for 10 mins, season with garlic, lemon zest, etc., and sautée with oil spray. Makes a great protein for dinner or cold over salads for lunch. :)
  • If you like buffalo chicken, this recipe is a great healthier version. Totally satisfies my buffalo chicken cravings :) http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/01/skinny-buffalo-chicken-strips.html?showComment=1389229775822&m=1
  • The other day my scale said that I had gained 3 lbs...I literally picked it up and moved it to another spot on the floor and it went back down 3 lbs. Lots of factors can affect the number on the scale- try not to sweat it too much!
  • Hi Terry! From what I understand (and I'm not an expert), MFP never recommends that anyone eat less than 1200 calories per day. This seems to be a good general rule to follow to make sure that you are getting enough fuel. Of course this number could be higher for some people, but based on your height and gender I would…
  • I haven't tried the others, but the roasted edamame are delicious and kind of like chips :) http://www.fitsugar.com/150-Calorie-Snacks-30535514#photo-30535516
