Start Weight: 134.5 (1/1/19) Challenge Start Weight: 130.5 Challenge Goal: 125 A positive thought for the week: We’ve got this, ladies! Healthy snack or meal: I’m working on increasing my fruit and veggie intake, which tends to be lacking. Best workout this week: I’ve been mostly using the elliptical so far, and have added…

Hi all! I’m a 43 (turning 44 in a couple of weeks) year old mom of a five year old and a three year old. I used MFP to lose weight/get healthy while I trained for my first 5k back in 2011, with great success! Since then, I’ve had my two kids, stopped running, and gained 25lbs that I’d really like to get rid of. My plan is…

Yes. If MFP tells you to eat 1500 calories/day in order to lose weight, they have already figured a calorie deficit into that 1500 calories. In other words, you will lose weight even if you don't exercise. Personally, I exercise so that I get to eat more while still losing weight!

I LOVED Couch to 5k! I did it this past spring, and I've run 2 5k races since, and now I'm training for my 3rd. My advice...take it slow. Don't feel like you have to be maintaining a certain pace during your runs. You are working on building endurance, not speed. Don't feel like you've failed if you don't feel ready to…

I highly recommend Couch to 5k...it has helped me become a runner! When I started the program, it was all I could do to run for 30 seconds...now I'm doing 5k's, and considering a 10k!

I do this a lot, too. I live about 1/2 mile from the grocery store, so if I have the time (and it's not a major shopping trip), I'll walk there. It feels great to be able to kill two birds with one stone...I'm getting exercise while checking an item off my To-Do list!

I think I might be the only person I know who HATES Greek yogurt! I can't stand the texture of the stuff...but I love regular yogurt!

I wear a little makeup to work so that I look professional and put-together when talking to clients. If I'm going out to dinner or to a party, I'll wear it, but if I don't feel like putting any on before going to the grocery store, I don't wear it...and I don't worry about it! I never wear makeup to the gym or if I'm…

I have 2...a floral band on my right arm, and a blue butterfly on my back. I can't rule out the possibility of a third one someday, but for now I'm happy with what I have!

The link didn't work for me, but I assumed that he meant that you would be uncomfortable because you would be working out so hard.
-
I will run first thing tomorrow morning because I love how it is making my legs look! I will run because I have a 5k coming up in the fall, and hopefully a 10k after that!

While completely unrelated to nutrition or weight-loss... I can't say enough about "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. It was one of the best books I've read in a while! It even made me cry...and I am not one to cry at fiction! Don't worry...they were "sad, but happy" tears!
-
That is awesome! Are you doing Couch to 5k? I loved that program!
-
Wow!! That's amazing...congrats!

I tell people that I'm 5'1" on a tall day! I started at 125, met my original goal weight of 115, and now I'm shooting for 110. My coworkers say that I eat like a field mouse, because I am constantly nibbling!

This is a great reminder...thanks for posting!

I've got 5 green days and 2 red. One red day was July 4th, and neither red day was over by much (less than 50 calories over each), so I'm pretty happy with that!
-
Welcome!
-
That's so amazing! You are an inspiration!
-
Awesome!
-
I'm in too...I've had an awful lot of red days lately, maybe this will help get me back on track!
-
Thanks for posting this! I don't have any trouble getting motivated to do cardio, but I'm just not into lifting weights...this gives me some good reasons to GET into it!
-
I use Get Running for its C25k prompts and coaching, along with RunKeeper to log my distance and pace.
-
Hang in there...we're all rooting for you!

Hi everybody! I'm super excited right now, and I just wanted to share...I just registered to run in my first 5k on June 19th!! I have so much work to do before then...but I can't wait!

I did W5R3 today. Between fighting a bit of a head cold, and the fact that the weather is much warmer today than I'm used to running in, I had a tough time with it. I did manage to run most of the 20 minutes, but I did take a couple of 1-minute walk breaks. I'm planning to repeat this run again in a few days, and see if…

Thanks everybody! I did go running...but did not make it the full 20 minutes. Between the head cold and the fact that the weather today is much warmer than I'm used to running in, I got really tired and overheated about 10 minutes in. So I took a couple of walk breaks during the second half of the run, and I managed to…

Thanks, that's what I'm hoping will happen with me too! Have fun tomorrow morning...I suspect you'll do great!
