Hi I'm back on fitness pal and need to lose 50 - please add!

This is a great idea! I am in! I like the suggestion to post something we did or are grateful for -- just watched an expert on tv who said you need to celebrate your strengths and successes in order to move forward. This challenge will help.

Sounds like you are off to a great start -- one day at a time! I'm starting over again....

You probably have really increased your muscle index! Congrat!!!

Protein shakes are a quick, easy way to get some protein. I also like Zing bars. For belly, it's tough. Usually the last place I lose weight but it will with time go away. Take measurements once a month so you can see the progress. Good luck to you!

I just started and Im 48. Run slow, be consistent, and you'll be great!
-
I agree!!! Hope all goes well for you. Good luck!

I was a Navy wife (well still am but he's out of the Navy now) and understand exactly how you feel. Welcome and start logging! Thank your husband for us for his service and yours, too. It's great but stressful to be a military wife. He will be so excited to see you regardless of your size after deployment but hope you…

AMEN!

Thanks for all the replies! I tried to friend you all -- if I didn't and you want to, friend me! I'm really encouraged that there are so many of us trying to make the changes at this point in time. Have a great weekend!

Great motto! Supposedly if you lose slowly, you won't lose muscle and it will stay off longer......good luck!

How can they make a crepe worth that many calories??????????????????????? Should be illegal!

You are beautiful! Love your picture. Your weight is not who you are as a person and has nothing to do with your value or worth. You will lose the weight slowly and feel better and it's good for your health. Morbidly is such a dark word. It relates really to disease or illness. Think of it this way and not as gross or…

The goal of these boards is to be supportive of each other -- not tear each other down. Different diets/approaches will work and we don't have to agree. We do, however, need to be respectful. It's great that everyone is so passionate about what they are doing and for those of you who are already successful and maintaining…

It's not any one diet -- lean proteins, veggies, fruit -- stay away from refined processed foods -- track calories etc. and work out consistently. hard but we can do this!!!!

Made it through my first week on MFP. Wow, that was the longest week ever. Sore from working out - logging in every day. I thought of all of us out there busting our chops and it motivated me. Hope you all had a great week -- anyone doing anything cool that's helping them? I am drinking this Spark drink and it's helping me…

Thanks much for all the replies. Some of you have shown me it can be done and are now my new inspiration models! Others of you make me feel like I'm not alone in this journey. When you try and fail at something so many times, you have to change your approach. So, I'm going to log in and support others and make it this…

I'm 48 lol!

Great advice. Just don't give up!!!!
-
I'm in if you are still accepting people for your challenge!
-
WOW! Hope I can do that someday!

I am just starting this journey too! I think the hardest thing to do is break this journey down into very small, specific goals and build from there. I have this all or nothing mentality that I'm trying to break. I think a cleanse is a good idea. Everything I've read has said it helps and that eating healthy is 90% of…

I know exactly how you feel. I'm trying this. Again! I think that we can do it or we wouldn't keep trying. There's gotta be something there that tells us to keep going. Let's be kind to our selves and just focus on what we can do today. I think the key to my friends' weight loss is tracking what they eat and how they move.…

Does anyone else think it's ironic that they have an online pizza ad below this message board?

Thanks for sharing your story. I still have work to do in identifying my triggers. I think it's usually due to stress but I think it's also just my habit in general for coping with life -- whether it's a good day or bad day. Have to really shift my perspective on putting food in a less emotional role in my life.

Glad to hear the website helped you! I'm new to it but hope to have the same results. :)

I think that it's a pay-off somehow -- a bad habit. At the end of the day, I think I do it because I want to feel bad about who I am. I've failed so many times at losing the weight I think it's hopeless. But it's not. I am trying again. Do just one thing. If you drink an extra glass of water --- congratulate yourself. If…

OK here goes. I'm a newbie - just joined this site and motivated to make a change. CW 198 GW 150 This is my all time highest weight ever - including when I was pregnant. So its embarrassing and I am ashamed but I have a plan now and going to start today.

I know how you feel. I'm starting...again. hope you have a good week!
