  • I am not getting anything to go from MFP to fitbit until the middle of the night, today nothing is over there from exercise, food or water. It does leave you wondering if you met certain goals until it is too late to fix it.
  • mine finally updated yesterday about noon today, any thing from today is not there
  • Mine stopped syncing on monday evening, MFP seems to know what fitbit is doing but Fitbit is not getting food, water or exercise from MFP. I don't see any indication of this on the fitbit website, has anyone contacted support?
  • I walk a lot but I listen to books on tape or CD, that way I can walk about 4 mph, I mostly get 12-15 K steps in a day, sometimes it is more if I am not on a work day but a farm day it can be up to 22 K in a day
  • I am a book nerd plus I did a lot of gaming, played Travan for a year, but I had to leave, just was taking too much time, that game will take 24 hours a day 7 days a week and each game was a year long, they have shorter games now. I have a Big Fish Game subscription so I get games from there often, It is better time…
  • I was put on a high dose of prednisone for 3 months for ITP, most people do gain weight on prednisone especially such a high dose. I noticed changes in my body, it gives you chipmunk cheeks and a pot belly, I really toed the line on my calories and exercise and didn't gain any weight, but I didn't lose any weight either.…
  • They say natural peanutbutter has more Aflatoxins then the processed kind
  • It is like all one size fits all things, it will fit a majority of people that are average but leave out the ones on either side of the bell curve. Even at a good weight for me I don't fit in the healthy range, because I do carry a lot of muscle with all the farm work for my age and as MamaRiss says, it doesn't take onto…
  • Great Job, I am doing the same thing walking at least 5 miles a day, and staying at about 1500-1700 calories, almost at my goal!
  • I will check my stride while walking fast, I am also not an avid runner and my jog, like yours is about the same as my very active walk stride. I sometimes alternate fast walking with jogging to break up my exercise when I need more exercise time for the day and am pressed for time. Mostly I strive to get 30 to 60 very…
  • I never realized this before and maybe most people are like this but when I speed up my walking my stride is much longer, if Fitbit is recording very active while walking it is not calculating my steps correctly. I calculated my average step and entered it and it is correct for the most part when I am walking at an active…
  • Log in some water or food in MFP and see if it goes over to fitbit, and check in exercises and see if there is a Fitbit calorie adjustment line under exercise. if that is missing then fitbit is not talking to MFP if the food and water is missing then MFP is not talking to fitbit, it can go down both ways or only one way,…
  • fitbit often thinks an activity you log in is not very active and changes you to active instead, in those cases I usually don't bother to log in the activity. I check the activity log to find the exact times to log in activities, you will find MFP often overestimates the amount of calories activities use compared with…
  • I have done all that multiple times, but still fitbit stops syncing with MFP, one of the things that irritates me is the fitbit correction is based on some amount of steps I have taken during the day and projects how many I will take for the rest of the day, but this projection is always completely incorrect because I work…
  • You both look great, it must feel great to not be carrying around that 98 lbs anymore, good luck to you both and congratulations!
  • I am deadly serious, going to be leaving my 50's in July and this weight has to come off. I was never overweight until the last 10 years when I went to working nights, and the 12 hour shifts make it so you don't really have time for much of anything. I also started to eat a much poorer diet then I was accustomed to in…
  • I have the same problem, I do walk a lot and it is sync'ed over, it is always over 12-13K steps a day on work days and more on non-work days when I work on the farm, much of the farm stuff sync's over as highly active. I have been running a calorie deficit of 600-1000 but I just can't eat more. From looking at my food log…
  • none, I guess, since I don't even have a TV
  • mmm, here I was thinking I was still young and now after reading this thread I realized I am much older then old. It is funny how old is usually the age of your parents, and young is the age of your kids, well right now my Dad is 88 and my Mother is 86 so as long as they keep aging I will always be young lol. I can't say…
  • I have a FitBit Flex, it becomes kind of a challenge to myself to make sure I am over 10,000 steps a day, I tend to go for hikes and walks just to make sure I am over my goal for the day and the week lol. I knew I didn't sleep well but never realized I woke up that often, now that it is there in print I do think, oh yeah,…
  • I have a fitbit, I think if you use it to motivate rather then taking it gospel it is a good device. Pros, gives you motivation to achieve your goal, you can see when your activity is high and low and plan for better use, I find the sleep part fairly accurate but that is because I do not usually move when I am sleeping,…
  • Hi, I am turning 60 this year, despite having a bad knee and hip I am pretty active, but no marathons for me, and some of the exercises that the 20's & 30's are doing would probably break something in me lol. I work nights and have stacked up some weight in the last 10 years, so decided my life would be easier if all that…
  • I am just heading out of my 50's this year, working on losing about 60 lbs if you want to send a friend request
  • I love celery (high in sodium so try not to eat too much) raw carrots, and red or yellow peppers for snacks .I love to slice up an apple and cut one serving of cheddar and eat my apple with a small piece of cheese yum! I air pop my popcorn so it is not fat laden, always been a popcorn junkie but not the microwave stuff or…
  • That is the problem, it is in the database when you look for food to add to your menus, but when you enter a recipe I can't get it to display more then 4 options and no matter what I type in none of them are the mashed bananas, I even copied and pasted that exact entry in the box but it doesn't come up. The ones that do…
  • I could do the how many bananas but they are mostly in terms of large, medium and not very accurate. I know the correct item is in the data base but there is no way to access it in the recipe section. Gave up and then found someone else had put the recipe in already, but I don't think the stats are correct.
  • I am also looking for a homemade recipe calculator that is not so cumbersome as the one here. Every time I try to enter a food it is in the wrong amount or size, or my brand is nowhere in site, it took me 3/4 hour to enter part of one recipe and I gave up. Sugar is listed by the teaspoon, flour by the 1/2 cup, tried to…
