  • It looks like you're new to logging (I could only find one day in your diary), but for starters, you need to eat real food. Having shakes for every meal will not give your body what it needs. Maybe that one day is out of the ordinary, but you don't look to be getting very good nutrition.
  • It's very possible. Here's a before and after pic. Sorry, you'll have to imagine me without my shirt in the first pic. I do a fair amount of pushups and bar bell presses.

  • This. They go rancid fairly quickly. I actually stopped buying and using them because I read somewhere that by the time you buy them in the store, they have probably gone bad already and lost their nutritional value. The best way is to buy them whole, then use a dedicated coffee grinder to prepare them as needed.
  • I was in a similar boat. I started out at 38 and am down to a 32 (where I'm staying). Shirts were XL and I'm in mediums now. I ended up buy clothes that fit me, but only enough to last until the wash got done. I've got a small collection of shirts that are L and a few pants size 34 (I skipped size 36) that don't fit me.…
  • I started loosing weight by doing 45 minutes of cardio per day for 3 months straight until I realized that I was loosing more muscle mass than fat. I switched to 15 minutes cardio on alternating days with strength training and I'm in much better shape. Moral of the story? Everything in moderation!
  • Make sure you talk to your OB about this subject. For starters, you are NOT eating for two! Maybe 1 1/4, but definitely not two. The doctor told my wife with our first child to eat more and neglected to tell her how much more. She ended up going way overboard and had problems during the pregnancy and afterwards. Nutrient…
  • I only log when it goes in, not when it goes out.
  • These are my favorite as well. Target sells a larger box that's a great deal too. (don't order them online during the summer months, from anywhere)
  • This looks freaking awesome! So want to try it...
  • I have to give this a shot!
  • You could/probably have a sensitivity to the sugar alcohols. You could try getting used to them by starting with smaller portions and moving up to see if that does the trick. http://breakingmuscle.com/nutrition/what-you-need-to-know-about-sugar-alcohols
  • As someone who lives in Amish country can attest, yes, traditional dishes here are loaded with sodium, sugar and lard. One radio commercial for a restaurant brags that you'll always have a takeout container when you leave because they give you so much food! Why not just put a feed bag on people? And don't get me started on…
  • Half the people on here will tell you to enjoy yourself and the other half will say to "eat clean". My opinion is that you should make the best of the choices available and try to keep a log of it on MFP. Treat yourself and have fun, but try to get some exercise in (cardio) to help burn off some of those extra calories.…
  • It took strength training for my moobs to firm up. I do pushups and barbell bench presses specifically to target my pecks.
  • If it's like absolutely every other MLM (multi-level marketing) company don't waste your time and energy. You'll spend most of your time on training and motivational calls and meetings and make very little money, but end up spending way more on your samples and training materials. Believe me, my wife has tried a ton of…

  • SW: 240 Lbs GW: 190 lbs CW: 172 lbs 175 was my long shot goal that sounded nice (but unattainable) so I set my goal to 190. However, once I hit 190 I just kept going! I've drastically slowed down now, but since I'm so close to getting my BMI into the normal range I'm kinda sorta shooting for that (168 lbs). Took me 3…
  • Even eating lots of veggies, etc, I had problems hitting my fiber goal until I added in some fiber gummy supplements.

  • If you're doctor says you aren't diabetic or borderline, then you probably only need to track carbs and not sugars. I even went so far as to remove it from my diary settings so I don't have to see how much I go over everyday because I eat so much fruit!
  • What we've done is angel food cake with fresh cut strawberries and the low calorie reddi whip. Alternatively, just buy a small cake and low/no fat frozen yogurt.
  • Anything with TVP (Textured vegetable protein)! http://allrecipes.com/recipes/everyday-cooking/vegetarian/vegetarian-protein/tvp/
  • The app is a tool, it doesn't do anything other than take what you put it and output the data in a way that you can use in whatever way you decide to use. If you choose not to use the data to make better decisions then that's your fault and not the apps.
  • I prefer to log my exercises in MFP and use the TDEE calculator to setup my calorie goal on MFP instead of using their own calculator. If I only use TDEE with the exercises calculated in I'd have to log all my exercise as zero calories, which isn't what I want to do.
  • Desk job is still more calories than BMR.
  • I would use this calculator as a general guideline and set the exercise level to desk job. This will let you add in your exercise on the days you do it. Fill in your gender, age, height and weight, then just switch the exercise to no exercise. http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/
  • 2300 per day for just sitting at a desk seems really high to me. My TDEE for a desk job is around 2100. 500 for your exercise also seems pretty high unless you're doing an hour of cardio without stopping.
  • My range is between 170 and 175. Normally I'm right in the middle of it and don't fluctuate all that much unless I've loaded up on sodium because of a dinner date, etc.
  • I don't really care about carbs as long as I'm hitting my protein goal (numeric, not the MFP percentage). Usually though they are between 45 and 55% of calories. I stopped tracking sugar completely because of all the natural sugars I get from fruit.
  • Have you ever tried Black Bean brownies? My kids love them and if you substitute sugar with stevia or a stevia blend they are much healthier!
  • You can only search the forums. I don't see a method to search recipes submitted on the recipe section of the food diary.
