  • Things like this is why I love CrossFit as much as I do. You're really discovering yourself and that is so awesome. Good for you and by the way your numbers are almost identical to mine BUT (wait for it...age card coming) I'm a lot older! Be proud young lady!!!
  • How true I'm so impressed. I ONCE strung 14 together and it's been a wreck ever since. I've been CrossFitting for three years so how pathetic am I? GOOD WORK!
  • Damn I'm going to have to give that a go soon. Sounds like a killer!
  • Today's WOD: Skill/Strength 5 x 5 touch and go dead lifts @225 WOD 15 min AMRAP Run 200 meters 15 burpees 1 minute plank Score was total burpees which I got through 5 rounds for a total of 75 When I saw it on the board I wasn't very excited but it was actually a pretty good WOD. I'll be coaching it this evening so I hope…
  • Thank you!
  • It should show up in your "My exercises" I believe.
  • This is a great short video on hand care by Donny Shankle who is a lifting god. I'm known as the hand natzi around our gym since I'm constantly lecturing the members about hand care. https://youtube.com/watch?v=otorSGl3sG0
  • Great advise as to who you compare yourself to! Curious do you advocate squatting to parallel or below? I personally believe *kitten* to grass is the way to go!
  • I mix it up constantly. Today after my warmup routine I did 5 sets of of 5 heavy touch and go dead lifts. Then I did 15 minutes of the following: Ran 200 meters, 15 burpees then 1 minute plank. I made it through 5 rounds. This a pretty representative of my daily workouts although some days it maybe more focused on strength…
  • I'm an avid CrossFitter and I highly recommend it. You'll never get bored and you'll always have a great community to support and motivate you along your journey. Hater go ahead!
  • Skill/Strength 5×3 Touch and go cleans @ 155# WOD 50 pull-ups 50 push-ups
  • So are you having trouble with figuring portion sizes etc. That is what has always kept me from doing the zone although I've wanted to for a long time now. I've also considered Eat To Perform as well.
  • Hemlock I'll share my story and just maybe it could benefit you. I'm a 53 year old man who was never athletic when I was young. I've been married for 31 years raised my kids blah blah blah. I like many didn't take care of myself and just prior to turning 50 took a deep hard look at myself in the mirror and didn't like it…
  • You don't have to loose any muscle mass at all. I subscribe to constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity and if you do the same you will loose weight while gaining muscle and over all fitness. Now for full disclosure I am a CrossFitter/CrossFit coach. If you are not familiar with CrossFit I highly…
  • I would tell you it doesn't matter what program you use at this point. You've done well so far so I wouldn't change my program. What you've probably done is what most have done and that is get into the program well but have been 100% focused on the diet. Now when I say diet please know I hate that word with a passion but…
  • Best is to do both. Never get yourself hung up with a routine but rather use constantly varied workouts. That way you keep the body guessing and you get the best of both worlds. Same is true as far as should you do cardio vs weight training? Again mix it up your body will appreciate it and you won't get bored.
  • Handstand push-ups are great for the rear delts although they are an advanced movement. You can work through the progressions which are designed to get you to a point where you can perform the movement. Dumbbell presses done very strictly with the palms facing out and making sure you push your head through at the top will…
  • I've been CrossFitting for three years now. I have my L-1 cert, CrossFit Kids cert and also Oly cert. Didn't start until I was 50 years old and was so far out of shape it scared me. Well I've dropped 55 pounds and couldn't be happier! Looking forward to conversing with fellow CrossFitter here in the forum.
  • I personally wouldn't have a problem with you spotting or assisting me at all. I work out with several of the women in our gym and as a matter of fact many of them out lift me and I use that to my advantage. I particularly like to do squats with two of the gals because they make me work so much harder. About a year ago I…
  • This morning I did 15 minutes of a dynamic warm up and stretching routine. Then I did 5 sets of 3 touch and go power cleans with 155#. Then 50 pull up followed by 50 push ups, which took me 9:18.
  • Not with ya on this one. I love my weights!

  • I to am new here and I read your post. Main thing I want to tell you is you can't get a pill or shake to change you. You have to change your eating habits period.
