  • Hello beautiful people! I'm Monica and am joining weight watchers today. I need to drop AT LEAST 30 lbs. My goal is to be as healthy as possible when we decide to start our own family (just celebrated our 1 yr wedding anniversary)! Looking forward to all the support of this group and to offer the same to you!
  • if she cant handle you during your struggles, she doesn't deserve you at your best.
  • I'm running my first 5K on Thanksgiving day too (the infamous Turkey Trot)! Good luck!
  • I am a lifelong athlete with a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology. All I judge, to their face, are my clients and that is because they are asking me for help and want to change. Otherwise, I refuse to expend energy on the way other's live their lives. It's a personal choice everyone makes for themself. I've work with…
  • Wow - we love the same exact products! lol You have good taste!
  • That's a really good idea! I may have to steal that idea from you! ;)
  • Brandie - Welcome to MFP! Congrats on making the most imporant decision in your life - to take care of YOU! This site is fantastic! There are always people on here willing to answer questions, help motivate and encourage, and the food/exercise tracker is a great way to hold yourself accountable. We're all here for you,…
  • We've all been there! In my opinion, the best thing to do first and foremost is to stop the binge. Binges can sometimes last a couple days. My first goal would be to forgive yourself and move on. You're on the right track - you've upped your water, the only other thing you can do is intake lots of fiberous fruits/veggies…
  • I take something very similar to Celexa and though it decreases my appetite as a side effect - I would imagine you could potentially gain weight on any type of medication prescribed of this nature. I tend want to eat when I'm sad. I tend to want to eat when happy. Emotional eatting isn't just eatting when you feel…
  • I was doing WW (online) as well and I find myself logging into MFP more than WW. I find people to be more involved in the online community here on MFP and, like you said, it is free! Do you find a big difference in your calories when you tally up your weight watcher points into calories VERSES MFP recommended caloric…
  • You have nothing to lose! You will find the occassional creeper but the same thing happens in bars too. I don't think thats a valid reason to completely nip the idea. It always aggrivated me when people are so close-minded about the concept. It's ignorant. I joined match.com when I moved from Houston to Michigan as a way…
  • I personally think we all go through something like that. Life isn't about perfection, its about consistency! I think you've done the most important thing, posted on here for encouragement. You're already aware that this is not something you want to continue, so don't! You're a strong woman, you have to be to be near the…
  • Thank you all for sharing your personal stories! I took it as well as the rest of you and can relate to what each of you have stated. I'm very intrigued by this type of drug...
  • I live in Michigan and the winter's here are TOUGH! The windchil is currently 17 degrees! It's dark here a lot in the winter too. Usually the sun is out around 8am until 4pm ... unmotivating! If you come up with any motivational tips, let me know :)
  • I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. We can all learn something from other's lives. Thoughts and prayers your way!
  • Obviously people find different things rewarding; they were just examples to get my thoughts across. "Pampering" does not just mean in a materialistic way. I figured it was common knowledge that everyone has different needs and enjoyments. I enjoy spending some of my money on playing indoor soccer with my old college…
  • I've been on Wellbutrin for several years now and I highly recommend it. Wellbutrin has a chemical structure that is very different from other popular antidepressant medications on the market. Because it has a different chemical structure and does not have the same side effects as some of the other antidepressants, it has…
  • If you are not used to weight training, your are probably experience water retention (which is completely normal when beginning a weight training program). Breaking down the muscle fibers can result in water retention around the muscle as it repairs itself. Your body might need more water to hydrate properly before it will…
  • It's nice to know someone can relate! P.S. I know this is random but I saw your height on your response post and I have to say AWESOME! I'm 5'11. It just made my day to come across another tall woman! YES!

  • Man, I have quite a few errors in my last post. I should proof-read before I hit "Post Reply." Sorry!
  • Sorry for the very late response (this is why the need a blackberry app)! I use the Polar RS300X currently, for a little over a year now. When I first started with HRT I used the Polar F6. Which worked great and never had any problems with. The F6 is a bit cheaper than the RS300X if your looking to spend a little less. If…
  • I've used POLAR the last 6 years and I love it! Here's what I think the pro's are: 1. Keeps track of your workouts and comes with software to download them onto your computer. 2. Works without the watch - so if you wear the heart strap without the watch, the machine you are on will still pick up your HR and show up on the…
  • We're getting married March 18th, 2011! Just around the corner! I keep reading and hearing that it is not abnormal for a bride to gain weight during the entire process. It can be stressful! I think the most important thing is not to get healthy just for the big day, but to create healthy habits so that you don't have to…
  • I had run into the same problem. Forgive yourself and move forward. That's what I've had to tell myself. I feel like once I had a bad day nutritionally, I let the next couple days follow that mentality. And its crazy. Every human being no matter how big or small have days they indulge. This past Saturday I had wine,…
  • I'm so glad it re-focused you! It did the same for me when I heard it as well. I had a "duh" moment. God Bless you :)

  • I've been a member there for 5 years and I love it! They offer so many fitness/weight loss group classes that are included with your membership. They are awesome and for people of all levels... yoga, kickboxing, different types of weight training classes...they all rock!
  • I was doing weight watchers with my mom to help her stay motivated, etc. I think its great for some people, but not for me. I went through one day and calcuated exactly how many calories I was eatting worth of points, etc and it was not nearly enough for my lifestyle, etc (explains why I was so hungry). You can't do both…
  • Love it!!
