  • My surgery date for RXY was 11/24/2021.
  • Friend of Bill sitting in back of room here. So grateful those 12 steps work for the rest of us.
  • I am not a smoker, but I do struggle with cravings, especially for sweets (as many people do). I just picked up a vaporizer and nicotine free e-liquid which I am starting to use in response to or to prevent the onset of cravings. So much of craving certain foods is associated with triggers and habit. I thought this might…

  • Truly wonderful pics and success stories. I must say, however, that my overlapping belly, fat back and water-wing arms may be here to stay. This is not going to deter me from my goal of losing more weight, however, my overlapping belly is severely so, and I think diet and exercise may not move my friend from its long…
  • "Wow! You ate TWO avocados today.. do you know how much fat is in one avocado?" type of comment. Yeah, I know how much fat is in an avocado, but I felt like eating two so back off lady." That's hilarious and awesome. I love your attitude.
  • It is a VERY slow process. Do not lose heart. You said that you've lost 5" in your waist, and that is fantastic. Not all "loss" is seen on the scale, especially as relatively small as you are. For me, I approach this as a permanent...day-by-day lifestyle change. I do not "diet," but rather, I have calculated what a person…
  • If I want to find a brick wall to slam into as an excuse for not making the kind of changes that I need to make, I can do so daily...hell...hourly. It is up to me. Take what you need from here, leave and ignore the things that do not help you.
  • It is such a user-friendly tool. One that has helped me in making real and legitimately healthy long term changes in my life. Not dieting, but living changes, which is what I have needed all along.
  • Hear Hear. I didn't get to this weight by struggling to eat. I agree that 1200 is likely only going to lead to binge eating. It is over-controlled eating. I am here not to lose weight but to change my patterns and practices concerning eating and moving around, which, ultimately, will result in a natural weight loss. I am…
  • Love Silk unsweetened almond milk. I like the taste not necessarily as a replacement for milk, which I love, but as an additional option, and I like it as a substitute for milk as well, if I so choose. You can't beat the 30 calories per 8 oz benefits. I even drink it straight, adding a bit of vanilla, or whatever flavor,…
  • I love the "you're doing it wrong" guy, but seriously, SHE is not sabotaging you. It is unreasonable to expect everyone we live and spend time with to change their eating habits because we have changed ours. If it is one particular food you are talking about, i.e. cheesecake, and it is particularly hard for you, maybe ask…
  • Everyone will have an opinion and there is more than one way to correctly lose weight, so to speak. You must find the correct and healthy path that works for you. People here have offered a wealth of good ideas and advice. Take what you need. You needn't accept anyone's word as gospel. By way of background, my starting…
  • I would like everyone's input on my situation. Caution: If you don't give me the answer I am looking for or like I plan to call you a troll. ( ;
  • Oddly, decreasing activity a bit and adding food can jump start your metabolism. However, in my opinion, the best thing you can do at a plateau is be gracious and kind to yourself, know you are doing what you need to do, and just wait. You WILL start losing again. You body is just getting the house in order. It's normal.
  • Good question, Tav. Because, at my weight, maintenance is what a person of 130 lbs would need to maintain that weight, plus an additional amount because I carry around a significant load 24 hrs per day. In other words, the simple fact that I weight more than 100lbs more than I should means that I naturally burn more…
  • For what it's worth, I started with so-called maintenance. I don't want to "diet" again, because it has been a repeated abysmal failure for me, so instead of dieting, I have simply started eating "normally" which, of course, will never be normal for me and will always require my vigilance. I want to start my "maintenance"…
  • lol. I know it's not funny, but it is to me, in a way, I look like I have water wings at this point. The good news is that there are exercises out there and skin shrinks up more slowly than fat, but it does shrink up some. The bad news it, it just takes a long time. Oh well, better to fuss with water wing arms than an…
  • Thanks everyone for your supportive words. I appreciate it so much. When I wrote this, it's so long and drones on and on, I figured I was just putting it out there because I needed to say it and because I needed to "hear" what I was saying, and that was fine. Your supportive responses are a welcome and unexpected surprise.…
