Looking back I don't see what all the fuss was about. Admittedly, the original article was a bit cursory but gluconeogenesis in a fasted state (amongst other things and the time limits of what a fasted state may be ) is probably going to be a concern if you are concerned with maximising fat loss and minimising muscle loss to the nth degree (and considering people following Tom Venuto's writings are probably mostly body builders they will probably find it interesting.)
