  • I don't eat hamburger helper ... but is there a "dry" versus a "as prepared" caloric count? You could calculate the calories for the mix and the things that you add to the mix (including the turkey). Then calculate a total calories and divide by the number of servings. More work ... but it would be more accurate.
  • weekdays - oatmeal with a banana cut up and mixed in (I can keep the oatmeal in my desk drawer and just have to remember to bring bananas in on Monday) weekend - cereal and skim milk with some fruit
  • Fage 0% (a Greek yogurt) ... thick and creamy (a totally different texture than US yogurt though). Don't get the fruit kind (lots of extra cals). 90 cals and 12 g protein, if I remember correctly. Really filling. Enjoy with some almonds/walnuts and some honey. Yum!
  • I LOVE these!! Yum, yum!!
  • This power outage is annoying isn't it? I live in Columbus also, but was fortunate to keep my power (but it seems like everything is out around me) ... especially traffic lights! Grrrr!! My suggestion ... get out and enjoy nature! We have some absolutely wonderful Metro Park here ... try some of them out. They have walking…
  • I like GoGetterMom's idea. Maybe they can tag team to come up with a new style for you! Explain to your current stylist that you are thinking about something new and maybe bring up that you have liked some of the styles that the other stylist has done for other clients. They could share ideas and come up with something…
  • You have to remember that you are dealing with liquids and solids and that liquid oz are different than weight oz. Remember science class? Don't you just love the English system of measurement? The metric system is so much easier. I agree with the recommendation of getting a small scale and weighing solids when you want a…
  • http://www.hungry-girl.com/week/weeklydetails.php?isid=614 There is the link to the recipe. Enjoy!
  • Canned pumpkin! There is a hungry girl recipe that takes a devils food cake box mix and a 15 oz can of pure pumpkin. That's it! Stir and place in muffin tin (makes 12). I forget temp and time though. Yum, yum, yum!!!
  • I love mine! Gives you a more actual picture of calories burned ... which is nice rather than a rough estimate. Best of luck and many calories burned!
  • Try black eyed peas that have been marinated in balsamic vinegar with some feta cheese. Yum, yum!
  • I find I eat less when I eat more often. When I am in the office or on the weekends I probably eat 5-6 times per day. Unfortunately when I am traveling for work it is usually only 2-3 times a day.
  • I believe that disclosing nutritional information is only required in some states and that it is voluntary in all others. But ... in the words of one of my friends ... "I could be wrong".
  • Music definitely helps me! Get some good high tempo music and that will increase your speed too! Just like how you go faster when driving to good music. Also ... set mini goals for yourself. That helps me. "I will go this far" or "go this long" and just accomplish that goal!
  • Oh yum! This is one of my favorite GS cookies of all times!! That and Thin Mints, Tagalongs ..... There is a reason that I avoid the Girl Scouts when they are selling cookies at the grocery store.
  • Here is a thought ... Because you paid for it ... $6/class right ... then that should be more motivation to go and get the most out of it! If you skip ... the cost per class goes up! It sounds like an awesome class ... have fun!
  • Rather than buying water ... get a reusable bottle. I have a one-liter reusable bottle on my desk that I fill up twice a day. Loose weight and help save waste from going in the landfill! I love the 100 calorie packs ... but I tend to eat more than just one too.
  • Genisoy makes all different kinds ... but a lot of stores carry their own brand now (usually just as good and a fraction of the cost). I was just on the Genisoy website and they have more kinds than I could ever imagine!
  • Look for soy chips either in the organic section or in the cracker aisle. Soy chips are a great protein source, low cal, and quite yummy. I had sea salt ones with lunch today. I started enjoying them after my niece (same one who loves the tilapia) started feeding the cheddar ones to me at Easter.
  • Here is a fish suggestion ... tilapia. You can get it fresh or frozen ... my two year old niece loves it! Here is another thought for something to add to yogurt ... crushed up sweet soy chips (like caramel or apple cinnamon). Granola can get calorie and fat heavy sometimes, but it is yummy!
  • They are probably "flash frozen" by food distributors so they don't get as mushy. Though ... if you think about it frozen berries are never quite the same as the fresh. Using the cookie sheet method will definitely help them from freezing into one giant mass. I do this with my extra blueberries.
  • Non-fat Greek yogurt! Add a little honey and walnut/almonds. Don't get the one that is already paired with fruit (high sugar).
  • My friend is treating herself to a full spa day when she meets her goal! If you have the money it sounds wonderful. Haircut, mani/pedi, facial, massage .... a good me day.
  • From what I have read it seems like the F6 is the way to go for "middle of the road yet good". I am going kayaking this weekend ... so maybe I will go out and grab one at lunch today. I am curious to see how many calories I am burning "having fun"!
  • Good morning! I am considering getting a heart rate monitor, but thought that I would ask a few questions of the group before buying one. 1. Which model do you have? 2. Why did you pick that one? 3. What are the pluses/minuses? Thanks so much for your help! - Crista
  • Oh my goodness!! How many miles/kilometers is that? My recommendation (as someone who LOVES to travel) ... if you are outdoorsy people, hit as many national parks as you can! Look into the National Park Pass if you are going to go to more than two parks (http://www.nps.gov/fees_passes.htm). If you can fit it into your…
  • One suggestion about the sensitivity issue. Start using a product such as Act which has fluoride that will help with the sensitivity. It will never bring the enamel back, but may help a little.
  • I am on Seasonique ... and love it! After being on it for a little while, my doctor and I decided that I could take two packs back to back (skipping the last week in the first pack of course). So now I only have to worry about my period every 6 months! It is wonderful!
  • I completely understand! I travel a lot for work (leave for NJ in 2 hours) ... and try to stay active when on the road. I do miss my gym though! I try to walk around the airport and usually bring fitness DVDs with me. Get a ground level room in the hotel though or else people will wonder what you are doing up there!
