Day 10, I think I turned the corner on day 9. Good luck, I feel really good.
-
I'm on day 3 myself. How's it going for you?
-
A lot of people are addicted to sugar. Having just a little bit of it gets them craving it all the time. Sometimes it is better to not even taste it. You wouldn't tell an alcoholic to have just a little.
-
Funny thing, as soon as I started eating more, I lost weight. I think restricting your calories below MFP recommendations is probably not a good idea.
-
Store bought cookies and Little Debby treats. If I'm going to eat a dessert or treat it's going to be homemade, because those are worth the calories.
-
Not sure what you are trying to say. Why don't you be direct?
-
I agree with this one. It looks super tasty and a decent healthy choice. You won't feel deprived with this option.

Thanks for all the help. I will lower it to 1/2 lb a week. I know my exercise level will pick up now that spring is here and I can get out more. I am leaving at sedentary because I have a desk job and don't get to "walk the halls" that much.
-
My weight loss goal is set at 1 pound per week.
-
You made me laugh. Thank you for that, excellent post.

Sorry to hear about that. Take it to a tailor and get it fixed and try not to stress about it. You are doing great and you will continue your journey but you don't need added stress around a dress.

Your comment "calories are the same because a calorie is simply a unit of measurement" is not correct. According to the article the work the body has to do to process that calorie greatly influences whether the food will cause you to gain or not. Example 300 calories of broccoli is A LOT. Your body would have to work…

I'm so frustrated with my weight loss right now and my sister who is very thin said the only thing she can advise is to really cut down on the carbs. It seems to work every time for people she has worked with. She is a nurse. So, I guess that is the next thing I'm going to have to do.
-
I've thought about giving up breakfast too. Might have to give it a try.
-
I find preloading what I plan to eat for the day very helpful so I know I won't go over. So maybe list what you think you will have for dinner first and work your way backwards to breakfast since you don't mind not eating much during the day.
-
Congrats! That is no easy task. You look great and I am jealous and hoping to post one of those one day!! Thanks for the inspiration.
-
I do the same thing. I usually start with dinner as that is when my family eats together. I don't log exercise until I have actually done it though. It's very helpful and keeps me on track.

That's what I'm talking about!

Hi, I was born with a congenital heart defect. I have had had 2 open heart surgeries and an ICD implanted 2.5 years ago. Pacemaker/defibrillator. I went into heart failure almost 3 years ago and have clawed my way back to healthy and am now working on losing weight. I had been unsuccessful prior to MFP. It is slow and…

This is perfect! That is exactly what I do, just treat the next day like a normal day. If this is a lifetime change, then a day or two is nothing compared to a lifetime.

I haven't ready every post in this particular string but I want you to know you are not alone. I have been the same damn weight forever and have been making major lifestyle changes in the last 3 years to no avail. I've often wondered if I am a miracle of science. Everyone on here will have an opinion, whatever. You are not…

I have a heart condition that requires I stay on a low sodium diet. I even have to take diuretic's to keep the fluid off so I feel your pain. There are some good recipes on the internet for things like low sodium taco seasoning, low sodium stir fry sauce etc. These are pretty cost effective since you assemble them with…
-
Drinking water to balance out sodium intake is not effective. If a doctor tells you to stay at a certain sodium level drinking more water does not make it possible to eat more sodium. That is a false belief.

I walk every day. Usually around 8 miles. More on weekends. Took me about 10 months to work up to it. Has helped with my loss so far. [/quote] How much time does it take you to walk 8 miles a day? I walk every too but usually just 3 miles. I'm just wondering if I can even fit that in my schedule.
-
I also agree with prelogging your meals for the day. That has truly helped me turn the corner. I think I too often just let things happen in the day but having logged it in the morning I know exactly what I need to do for that day.

I am a 47 year old female attempting to lose a 1lb a week. I am very similar to you in height and weight. I have lost about a 1lb a week. Like you I find eating a lot of carbs slows my progress regardless of what others say here. You will find people in the carb camp others out. I can only speak for myself and how they…

The transformation is amazing. You look fantastic and you are an inspiration!

After reading this string I wonder if I will ever post anything. People are so mean to each other on here. Can a person not post their opinion or what is working for them without everyone jumping down their throats. Geez.
-
Thanks everyone, very helpful. I really like the idea of pre-loading my meals for the day, that way there is no surprises.
